Why is Constraction So Disrespected?
Peppermint_M replied to Lego David's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Why does anyone hate on anything? That is a pretty open ended question. Some people revel in complaining and grumbling, forever seeking more things to dislike and be negative about. There are people out there who rate it poorly, there are people who will rate constraction high on their theme lists. It isn't something to take personally, everything is subjective . These tier lists are another meme fad that will pass. -
The Race is coming. Racer42 is a three wheeled machine with high power. The pilot and the navigator are primed to drive. Are they willing participants or another vehicle dragged into the Race? -- The Race is a concept I am working on that pulls from a number of sources but is firmly SF. This car is setting the tone, creating the flavour for my own theme. That's what the Logo is for too. You can pick out some more details here. I have been playing about the asymmetry and using printed/stickered parts to complement a build. The colour scheme is a favourite of mine, LEGO Yellow is a pure classic.

LEGO Group Attending Pride in London!
Peppermint_M replied to Aanchir's topic in General LEGO Discussion
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-birmingham-48892889 Relevant I think. Wading in on the discussion: I don't know about representation, LEGO can be played with however you like and any figure can be anything you want it to be. You build your own narrative just as much as you build a set. An all inclusive Valentine gift set and wedding set would be nice (except the potential price!). It is a tricky subject, but at the same time, if we are all equal and all accepting then: People are People and Minifigs are Minifigs. (Though, a RuPaul series of CMFs would be aces!)- 46 replies

Hi! There are a lot of handy FAQs in the Help section and a whole thread if you are ever unsure about something. Hope you enjoy the forum

Hello again! Glad to see you back Sometimes a hiatus helps you get your groove back.

It looks like a number of tiles and slopes in Dark Tan colour, mixed with Tan tiles and slopes. That kind of build takes a lot of parts to build. It is built up from many layers with only the very top made to look like sand. A tan baseplate and blue baseplate are the easiest way to make a beach and sea from Lego. But if you use smaller parts of different shapes, you can add a texture to the landscape. Blue paper is easiest, especially if the reason for a sea is a place to show boats, it makes the Lego ship the focus, not a built sea.
-
I have not heard this. But if it means that I get less judgement for using cheaper plates; no worries!
-
Now that is a Goat Boat! The technique looks amazing, (and mind boggling) which certainly comes out in the finished product. What I Love though, is it still looks Fabuland. The colours and the aesthetic fit right in. I think you could build plenty more boats.
-
How deep do you want your sea to be? If you just want a suggestion of water, anything from simple blue cloth/paper to baseplates would work. If you want your sea to have "texture" from waves etc, you'll need to use plates and slopes to build a sea. I have also seen people use clear perspex sheets, so that there can be underwater scenes.

Future Action and Adventure Themes
Peppermint_M replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I once again think, with the new Jumanji Trailer out today, that there is room for a new Adventure theme. Even if it is something more akin to the popular collecting things feature that many themes have now. A ruin based selection of sets with traps to trigger and: Puzzles to solve! Even a simple mechanism built in that would allow you to solve a puzzle and find treasure would be a fun and unique way to sell the sets. This would also set it apart from the recent Jungle Explorers City sets if it was jungle themed, or it would set it apart from Ninjago if we had something more Asian themed. -
What would you like from a Sci-Fi Racing theme?
Peppermint_M replied to Henchmen4Hire's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
I keep coming back to the ground based racers. Tailenders is another amazingly weird racing anime that hits just the aesthetic I love. Crazy, wheeled, racing units with just as varied pilots/racers. -
Applause for the awesome builders! Well done guys, another epic build! Eurobricks really is a fantastic community and we can bring together a great team Also, @Vincent Kessels: You rock! I always support inclusivity and to hear that you were making sure everyone could be involved is great! I am certainly going to have to come join in again soon. Got to just take the plunge...

Winners! After a three way tie, I had to make a difficult decision on the winner of this contest. After much pondering and some good sportsmanship I have come upon a winner: First Place! @Umbra-Manis If you could message me your address to post out the prize and choose your tag: @makoy Choose a tag and @Exetrius @kritch want another tag? @LegoMyMamma, you can choose a tag as the 3rd place entry. This was a fun one, do you like little contests like this? I can try running a few more with tags as prizes.

Displaying at events: How to get started?
Peppermint_M replied to Exetrius's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
Well, the comic cons are organised by a friend of mine. So I have an agreement that I show MOCs at the event. Other events I found out about on google or through facebook. If you find a local LUG to join, they often have displays and events also. -
Displaying at events: How to get started?
Peppermint_M replied to Exetrius's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
Yes. Many times now. 8 solo at comic cons and once with Eurobricks. I am displaying again in September. There are also a few specific LEGO cons too, Birmingham and London have one and there is a Brickish Association display in Swindon. -
The Lego Movie 2 - The Second Part 2019 Set Discussion
Peppermint_M replied to Fenghuang0296's topic in Special LEGO Themes
So, what do you want the solution to be here then? My reminder was to everyone, not targeted. Too often people just want to talk endless and pointless circles about LEGO instead of building and enjoying. They feel the need to turn other's to their point of view above all rational else. This is why I mostly just step in to remind people to stay civil. If you think any certain members are targeting you, then drop a line to staff so we can help out. -
The Lego Movie 2 - The Second Part 2019 Set Discussion
Peppermint_M replied to Fenghuang0296's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Yes, keep on topic. Discussion needs to stay civil and sometimes it is wise to remember: You don't have to change someone's opinion. They are entitled to have an opinion on something subjective. By all means, correct a factual mistake if needs be, but debating the same thing into ever decreasing circles of frustration for all involved is never productive. -
Ninjago Polybag Contest - Voting
Peppermint_M replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Ok. I will do some results tonight -
Less personal arguments would make this a lot more palatable. @pooda and @Aanchir Can you agree to disagree and just drop it? No one needs to convince the other that they are right or turn each other's thinking around. This is a children's plastic building toy after all. These arguments are getting more personal and seem to be spilling across into other threads.

Lego City 2019 - Rumours, Speculation and Discussion
Peppermint_M replied to TheArturro's topic in LEGO Town
It is in the UK. I picked up a few space sets at the Cardiff LEGO shop and had a free satellite set. It is super, reminds me of a childhood favourite: -

Ninjago Polybag Contest - Voting
Peppermint_M replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
There is a three way tie! So I would like to hear an opinions: Place the three 1st place winner names into a random picker? Cast my own votes that break the tie? -
Ninjago Legacy Contest
Peppermint_M replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Dude, that is super helpful! I personally hold onto my votes until/if there is a need for a tiebreaker for any of the prize positions. I don't want to sway a vote in any way. Once I run a check for the votes I'll post a result thread. -
What is your favorite Lego Theme?
Peppermint_M replied to Foreman's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Forever and always: Adventurer's I adored it as a child and will continue to build within the theme. Next, Agents. Agents pips Alpha Team as I loved the colour-scheme and the Mobile Command Centre is one of the few sets I have not raided for parts, even 11 years later. Everything else is just fuel for my MOCs.
