  1. I have pinned this thread in the hopes that future posters of part queries will spot it here at the top of the forum. I believe one problem is that the thread does drop out of sight.
  2. Brickshelf is up and down. I was surprised by this thread because I thought the whole site had been closed a while ago.
  3. Yes, it seems to be a habit. Malta thread that could be vaugley controversial. Get bored/proven wrong and move on to something else to start an argument. I will move this thread.
  4. There are also the few recent "town square" sets . Like: Donut Shop Opening City Square City Corner I enjoy the aesthetic of this style of building in a city. It feels Classic, it looks good and it allows for plenty of play value. Okay, personally I would then move to turn them into something a little more robust, not quite a modular building but certainly something with four walls and a full roof.
  5. A specter appears this most haunted time of year! To win a mark of fear and fright Create a monster that haunts at night A phantom mean to make you scream A monster most foul with terrifying growl Post it soon and chance will see Who is certainly most scary
  6. A specter appears this most haunted time of year! To win a mark of fear and fright Create a monster that haunts at night A phantom mean to make you scream A monster most foul with terrifying growl Post it soon and chance will see Who is certainly most scary Create a monster, ghoul or ghost that would be shuffling around Newbury. You can make a creature, a figure or the "Hidden Side" of some normal object or character. Post a picture below to enter the raffle for a tag. Digital and physical entries are all welcome. Contest closes on 7th November. Have fun!
  7. That might be deals for Halloween, a few supermarkets in my area have them on a savings offer instead of any "special" set (Like the seasonal Trick or Treat, or Witch Brickheadz sets). Simple but effective marketing for the season.
  8. I would say that some short lived themes hold appeal because they didn't have time to get stale/repetitive/boring.
  9. Ok, need that figure and maybe a couple of it...
  10. It was always Baron Von Baron to me. In my little flight of fancy, I took the Sam from Sam Grant, which was what I knew JT as before I visited Legoland Windsor some years later, to make the name. A Legoland Windsor that has given us an Amelia Thunder in their promotional material... I am a terrible trash person who writes FanFic and I can get behind this in my personal world building. One day I might inflict my Adventure Generations on everyone.
  11. @Aanchir I guess it doesn't go into my specific stop request. However, it is not exactly on topic to 2020 Sets in the City line? Remember, we have a Multi-Quote Tool on EB that allows you to gather quotes and post into a new or pertinent thread. This way you can cherry pick points out of wherever they are and create something to specifically address a point that would otherwise derail a thread. Sure, sometimes a point made is on topic, but furthering the debate on that specific point draws the thread from its intended purpose. I like to see meaningful posts on the forum, it gives me hope that there is still activity here! But keeping things on subject is also important to make threads accessible. By all mean, create lots of new threads to cover different topics!
  12. Feel free to message me once you reach ten posts
  13. Okay, but that isn't a great thing to do either. I like EB to be a friendly place, so pushing people's buttons for the fun of it is not exactly a friendly thing to do.
  14. It really depends on the theme of the build. You can create great things using SNOT techniques, but some looks are better suited to certain themes or locations. If I was making something SciFi, I would use very different techniques in comparison to building a Castle or even a modern day structure.
  15. To everyone: Leave this argument alone now please. It is pretty much a waste of time. @pooda You hate police sets. We get it. I'm not a fan of some things, so I stay out of it and spend my time productively. Do you maybe want to try that?
  16. It's not hard to create a character using this guy. I dig the moustache. Heck, I could characterise this guy as Samuel Thunder, father of Johnny Thunder and former colleague of Dr. Charles Lightning. All it takes is a little imagination.
  17. I sort by type, like the others it is according to how I create. Basic parts like bricks/plates/SNOT parts etc are sorted. Then I have "car stuff", "plane stuff" and such. Maybe one day I will have space for type and colour sorting
  18. Messages are unavailable for members with less than 10 posts, it's to help stop Spammers and encourage users to post. You're only a few away
  19. Ok, it is not a button I have ever used, so I am not aware of the mailbox it goes to. What was the reason to message the site staff?
  20. No problems! I have had my theme set to my preference for so long that I had to go searching the page for the menu
  21. You can select to change the theme right at the bottom of the forum. There is the word Theme and a small arrow. You should be able to change it that way.
  22. https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/forum/167-new-member-section-please-read-before-starting/ Anyone with less than ten posts should see/be able to access the forum through that link. Once you make ten posts, the subforum is hidden. @Thai bricks, does this link let you in? Please try it out before you make any more posts! Out of interest, does my signature work correctly? As staff, I can access plenty of parts of the forum that normal users can't. So I can't test it myself without faffing about with spare accounts...
  23. That ain't ever going to happen man. Unless you can get her into Power Rangers or something, 8 Year old girls are 100% a Frozen target and they flock to it like moths to a flame. Otherwise, try a media blackout and keeping her off school On thread: A lot of the high prices are on the licensed themes and everyone wants their share of the profit pie. But LEGO does add more play value than other toys, as you can easily combine it with cheaper sets to expand on a collection.
  24. Ok, fine. But you will have to gracefully accept that others will disagree with you, it is not an attack against you or your opinions, just others not agreeing.
  25. @pooda, if you have such a problem with people not celebrating your every word, you are welcome to distance yourself from the discussion. If you start attacking other members in a manner that is personal (AKA, anything that is not related to the actual topic at hand) you will be welcome to have a private chat with staff about what rules you have broken. And yep, this is flack. You are being a whiney brat.
