  1. I'll get a copy to take a look. I do find that these sort of magazines are good for the fan who has not jumped head first into internet sources just yet. A joking term my sister and I use is "Internet Enabled", what we mean is people who's first stop is the internet for information/news/entertainment and understand the slang and terms of web culture. For ourselves, our peers and those younger than us, we are "Internet Enabled" but the older generation as a rule is not. My parents, grandparents and those of their peer group might not immediately turn to the internet, so a book or a magazine on a subject would be useful for them, or to guide them to web sources. It is also a safe way to share my hobby with those who have strict opinions (read: Morally Zealous types who freak about things like coloured hair, "vulgar" language etc) as it is much easier to show a magazine page than a website or media feed on my phone. Anyway, I was going to drop down to town for lunch so I think I will check for a copy at my local WHSmith.
  2. It does look like the images and links we have posted work for us but not others. I couldn't follow the links you posted. You couldn't see the image I posted.
  3. I guess they have turned off something in the code that allowed it to be shared as a deeplink? Weird though, to think that it is a platform for sharing builds and gathering support for projects has locked out deeplinks.
  4. Welcome to the forum. We have a lot of collected knowledge and skill on EB, so I hope you enjoy the forum.
  5. It has been a while! Good to see you here again
  6. So I have to ask: Just how old are you? The forum has a minimum age rule and this thread right here is not something someone over the required age would be starting.
  7. I love the mixel joints to build with, they let me put some great angles and shapes into my creations. Thanks for the nice comments
  8. I should do! I am big on recycling, so I put all papers in a paper bag until it is full, and one has been going for months. A little rummaging through should find one still bag fresh folded.
  9. Hmm, That is really strange! I wonder if it is Ideas and not EB that is doing it? Or maybe something to do with our respective browser cache letting the images and links work? @Jim do you know if there is an EB software reason the Ideas hosted images are going missing?
  10. Well, I just tried to follow you links and they hit a 403 error. But I just jumped to Ideas myself, found a pic and have posted it above? Right click and copied the image location and then posted it here.
  11. I'm not sure how you missed the Star Wars section of the forum. But I will move this over there.
  12. Oddball is a strange little ship. Designed to hide in ice belts in space, Oddball belongs to the Space Knight's fleet. Space Knights, the paladins of right! A build playing around with parts from castle and to make an even more SciFi Nexo Knights build. I wanted to build something almost spherical. The figure uses Nexo Knights parts and the Ice Queen CMF head. Trying to keep the rounded shape across the whole build was a challenge. While also keeping the colour scheme in mind! I just wish I had a dome in trans-lite-blue. The engines show my "foundation" part, the large moulded turret piece. Spaceships and Castle combined! Comments are welcome
  13. There is also a fleet of rubber ducks out there on the ocean! Those guys are not degrading as they are made to float. Apparently, tracking them has been a valuable insight into ocean currents! Personally, I have never chanced to find any of this legendary LEGO when I am in Cornwall, but it is always a fun story.
  14. So there is no place on the forum for political discussion, it is in the guidelines and has always been a rule (in fact, it is so divisive a subject I am sure it is a blanket rule for most forums on the web). So, as much as things may be true and accurate, we don't want this discussion to continue on this line. Something long time members should be well aware of also.
  15. I have some random polybags to bring along, I need to check what I have hanging around.
  16. I love exploring a city, so I am happy to wander along to any places. Toyshops are always welcome I do have a LUG Sticker on my card for the LEGO Shop. Plus, I am happy to pitch in for fuel and parking money.
  17. Well, if you look in my index, you can see what I think
  18. I think this would probably fit better in LEGO Town, so I will move it over.
  19. Another excellent MOC Not only does it capture the essence of a LEGO set, but also has the modern techniques in building to bring it up-to-date. Thanks for sharing it here on EB
  20. 8 bit and 16 bit music, dreaming of a childhood of gaming with my friend and being the go to gal for traversing the Seafoam Islands.
  21. It is built! Now to find a decent box to put it in for transport
  22. Building underway! I have two elements of my skyline built and a few more to go. I am drawing from the city I work in as the village where I live is too small to have iconic structures. (Unless you have a real love for Victorian/ Edwardian terrace houses).
  23. Is there a stealing candy from babies department? That evil building surely has one Looking forward to seeing what scenes you populate it with. Keep us up to date please.
  24. Yes, that was from Ninjago, and is actually printed, not a sticker. I love a lot of the parts we get through Ninjago for builds like this. The Spinner Crowns are always my favourite. Dieselpunk is my favourite of the "punks" too, so I always find myself building in the theme.
  25. The Kestrel is another of the Goodbury Mechanical's faster planes. A jet-propeller hybrid created by the engineers and innovators on the path to a true jet plane. Goodbury are leading the way on development of super fast and manoeuvrable planes and one day hope to create a true Jet Plane. This is one of my "classic" builds: Create a whacking great engine/motive element and then strap the other bits to it. I love playing with the more metallic parts for building a super powerful looking motor. With that built, I added in somewhere for a pilot to sit and some wings so it would go in the sky. This top view shows the propeller and motor through to the back jet, the whole construction is virtually a cylinder from end to end. The wings, cockpit and canopy were added a while after I had built the engine, so I chose a good colour contrast for the more brooding metallics and blacks and a canopy that added another splash. The wings were set up to match the brutal look of the engine. I hope you enjoy this SkyFy build of mine.
