Ok, cool! One thing I like to do for ideas for construction equipment is to Google manufacturers who make the coolest ones. Komatsu, CAT and JCB make really big or really cool machines. Then, for a town, I like to figure what a town needs and then build. Or you could try designing an Eco town, or a modern town.

What kind of ideas? Do you want suggestions of things to build, or how to build them? Or is it both? Also, a please would not go amiss...

Indeed they are. I was tempted to call it a "separatist speeder" but thought it might get confused with Star Wars

Good places to purchase Lego in the US?
Peppermint_M replied to Aethersprite's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Depending on the exchange rates, you can just go ahead and buy wherever LEGO is sold! For specifics, a store locator is the best bet. I know there is a good New York LEGO store, but there are probably smaller ones in Malls too. -
I don't know about "old boys club" but, yes, Eurobricks was established to share the love of LEGO at a time when it was only the physical brick available and a pervading nostalgia for a childhood toy. A Toy in a childhood without computers for the most part. LDD was launched and we made room for it here, welcomed it even with a specific section and a real working relationship with the TLG LDD Team. I can point out a few threads of rendered MOCs from software that have been frontpaged, that have been commented on and have been viewed to a high number. What I think you have missed/may not have noticed is the fact that very rarely does anyone post comments on MOCs any more. Everyone wants to rant about what sets/colours/characters they dislike and argue about leaks. A few super huge builds, creations by "famous" and popular builders and those who are in the right AFOL networks get noticed. The rest of us simply build because we love to and share simply because we're an online AFOL. Personally, I find it more rewarding to speak with kids at the comic con I display at annually and share the pictures with friends/family than have crowds "likes".

Breaking all the rules. I found more than 12 of those brick separators when tidying my build table. Not to mention the box I already have and all the others. So I built a speeder. I like speeder bikes. I like using weird parts to build with and making odd connections with the little elements. I also love to combine a bright colour "chassis" with greys/silvers as the mechanical parts. The technic cross axle peg was vital, as it provided an actual connection to the separator that was viable. Everything else connects to it. This was plenty of fun to build, playing around with connections. The name is a nod to the seed element of this build. Comments etc are welcome

Got a lot of flowers, many many flowers. No idea what I will use them for, but I have the option now Also, sand green telescopes, but I have an idea for those as structural detail, so there was a reason for a handful to go in the cup.

Next "Adventurers" Theme Ideas
Peppermint_M replied to Commander Keller's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Ah, I was looking at it being set in a similar era to the novel, so Doctor Lightning would be younger than he was in the original Adventure sets. -
I love the vehicle 3in1 sets. They provide lots of great parts to build my own designs and a showcase for building techniques. Also, the three build concept is something I greatly appreciate. As someone is not neurotypical, I suffer from bouts of anxiety that my LEGO can help with. Building a set calms the symptoms or stops them altogether. A mid size 3in1 can either be stretched over three "attacks" or douse a severe attack. Not only building a set from the instructions, but also the action of taking it apart and setting the parts out help so much. Once I have worked on all three, I can start my own alternate builds or reassemble my favourite. I really think that creator as a theme keys into the "mindfulness" movement and should certainly be explored as a helpful treatment for anxiety disorders. Of course, a set from a theme also can help, but the One-and-done nature makes them less effective.

Next "Adventurers" Theme Ideas
Peppermint_M replied to Commander Keller's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I would like to get something that is more based on an Adventurer type theme. Maybe even have a little bit of a crossover with the original crew by having Doctor Charles Lightning in the Professor Pierre Aronnax role. Thinking on things: I would enjoy something that encompasses Greek Mythology, tracking down relics or artefacts related to ancient heroes while tangling with the creatures and monsters made famous in the same stories. Whether we get new characters or the old favourites, I do not mind. However a return to Adventure! would be welcome. -
Okay, time to set aside some moolah for this wave. I am loving the designs Ah, a theme such as this is something to appreciate and enjoy!

Around the areas where I like to visit, there are a lot of places on the second floor of buildings that do musical instrument repair/refurbishment. There are also hairdressers and legal firms, photography studios and private consultants for things like Engineering etc.

Themes LEGO should discontinue
Peppermint_M replied to Lego David's topic in General LEGO Discussion
What amazes me is the amount of fans who just want to complain. I get that sometimes Rant threads can be cathartic, but continual moaning is far from productive. Truly, I purchase any set with the end goal of creating my own things. I have a handful of sets that remain in one piece (the Medieval Market Village, the Speed Racer cars and the Agents Mobile Command Centre) everything else has been stripped for parts. LEGO could decide tomorrow that all they are going to do is sell parts and People Packs and I would honestly be happy. -
Eurobricks is a fan run site funded by ads, we can't afford to be an image host as well as a forum. The 100k limit is to allow you to upload an avatar to the site if needs be. There are a lot of external image hosts out there, it is not too much hassle to upload images elsewhere and then deeplink them here.

Why is 7713 Bridge Walker and White Lightning so expensive?
Peppermint_M replied to Lego David's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
I'm going to move this along to where it belongs. -
With a few exceptions, I prefer to make my own custom characters. So while I appreciate a variety of prints, colours, accessories and hairstyles, I do not like the price inflation minifigures cause for a set. However the collecting of figures is a current obsession for people (Explaining why Funko Pops) so that is what we get.

Themes LEGO should discontinue

Actually, Dino 2010 was militarised for the American Market. Market testing found the little cross-pondian blighters wanted more weapons and fighting. I am sure the source is somewhere... but not to hand. -

Dino Attack was horrible. Dino2010 and Dino were much nicer. I hope that we could get a break from so much Batman myself. I think there are a lot of cool superhero characters that need some spotlight. -
