I am waiting for a clearance price on the Ultimates. Local supermarkets are dropping the price on one set, then a fortnight or so later the price is back to normal on that set and low on another. I have picked up most of them for £5 or under this way!

Hey, you got a great bargain there. I have mixed emotions when I buy from Charity shops, part of me is happy to pick up a nice lot of LEGO on the cheap. The other half thinks that I should be paying more or letting children have it... Then I donate a box of books and DVDs and plush toys and feel a bit better. Oh, and all the scatter-toys you get in those boxes of mixed LEGO? I put 'em in a smaller box and re-donate them with the usual mix of prizes from cereal/sweets. Funtimes.

LEGO Elves 2017 Discussion
Peppermint_M replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Awww, but Goblins would have been more fun. -
Some pictures and MOC information would be nice over a focus on Ideas promotion really. It is in the rules not to use the forum as a billboard. I'll move this along to SF, but please use any of the useful tutorials teaching how to deeplink images.

I have the new magazine. There is no hint of the Spring set, though I guess that is so it keeps the 2017 theme more of a surprise. An evil kitty with small throne and potion is a neat little set for under £4.

I have some generics (rebranded by a local shop chain) that are fine. Just as good as any TLG plates but a fraction of the price.
-
A one line mention (and no pictures sadly) but hey, this is a step better than last year!
-
I always have to resist the urge to rant when people act like the sets are the be-all and end-all of LEGO.

So, once again I will be displaying at GeekedFest in the Newport Centre. If anyone is around the area or planning to attend come and say hi to the AFOL with the weird headgear and her green-haired sister!
-
It depends why I am looking for it. Sometimes it is a set I missed, so I try to get a complete lot. Other times I want parts that came in the set, so I check the photo for those and if they're all there and the price is right, I'll pick it up. As I chuck out the boxes and you can get instructions online, that never matters to me.

It may be the servers of the site clearing out old data. It happens from time to time (Hence the odd broken Tag on a user etc).

Which Themes Deserve a Reboot?
Peppermint_M replied to Lancethecat's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I don't want a reboot as such, more like some sort of return to the general idea in the case of Adventurers. Maybe not Egypt again, as much as I love the setting and the archaeology, there are many other fascinating localities to explore. Cambodia, China and the old Silk Road have are amazing for their history.- 438 replies

A structure or two would be very nice, Ninjago has managed to incorporate a lot more buildings when the first waves were mostly vehicles.

LEGO Architecture Local Landmark Contest - Voting
Peppermint_M replied to Peppermint_M's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Okay, that is voting closed! I'll add the votes, get them checked and post a winner soon! -
Or, for anyone interested who might not know it is a little eraser icon. Very useful if you have been doing a little copy-pasta and like your text to be uniform.

Life would be really fun if I could actually have a big blue water dragon for realsies. So, Columbus, again you throw some real shade. Are you trying to troll or have arguments? I could nip in and mock fans of Harry Potter, or Deadpool, or Ghostbusters. They are all things I'm not a fan of. But because I am a reasonable and mature member of the forum I refrain from doing so. And everyone. If you aren't a fan then that is fine, but there is no need to be oh so edgy and cool And come in and tell people off for liking Pokemon Go. Heck, we're all members of a AFOL forum, a children's plastic building toy...

Cool stuff, but I don't understand anything more than LEGO! Tried to get an embed for the video, but no luck.

When we get right down too it, life needs more Rock Raiders! It is odd, the paradigm shifted when Ninjago ended up being such a big hit. The patterns used to in a similar way to the cycles in Town/City. Adventure, Spies, Underwater, Underground... Between them, the odd randomer like Time Cruisers or World Racers. Now, the three active themes in Action are all different to that original pattern, but I am sure something will pop up soon. With City having Divers, it might be about time for another adventure... But, spies is always fun.

Cool your jets Columbus. Similar words can be thrown at any hobby you care to name. Some people like hiding a character in a dark corner and sniping across a battle field, others like to crush them some candy or fling birds at pigs. Games is games and we can all have fun. On a more related note: If you don't get the hype, you are too old/young for when the initial hype hit back in the mid-90s. I was 10 when I noticed Pokemon existed as a game/card/cartoon thing and my friends and I though it was the coolest thing ever and it would be awesome if it was real? Now it is sort of slightly real and it is super cool for us lot to go and play for a while. I can't get it on my phone though. (Windows phone seemed so cool once). On the plus side, I can get my brother to run errands as he wants to leave the house more now he has it on his phone.

Uh? Translate plz? I am guessing that the article is in not-English, but we do like posts here to be in English (or at least get a translation in too, if it is for humour's sakes) Diolch! (thanks)

Got a Duplo rattle in the 'Newborn box' that the hospital gave out. Mum loved it and bought me more. Then actual Duplo sets and once I passed the age where trying to eat everything, she bought me some System. Mum is awesome.
