  1. We'll miss you Mike
  2. Packing? I am doing that after work tomorrow!
  3. There may be a forum for that, but members have to have 100 posts to access it. Eurobricks isn't a billboard for people to advertise sales. While it is unfortunate that you feel selling your collection is the solution, I wish you the best of luck selling it off.
  4. Us British types! I love that police helmet.
  5. Another amazing creation. Fantastic.
  6. Mine is all tucked away in a perfectly sized tub ready for transport. Seriously, I am going to have to show how well it fits, it is perfect!
  7. It can't be a licensed theme, it belongs to LEGO, they do not have to pay anyone else to use character names and likenesses. It is an Evergreen theme (like City).
  8. Looks like I am packing a hoody or two then!
  9. Nexo Knights guys, not the other themes please. It is okay to a point when comparing, but defence of other themes can be taken to their respective threads. Most themes have a three year development time. Chances are that there are at least a few waves of Nexo planned, but if it doesn't take off (Like Chima) then it will reach a normal end of life. Recall that other action themes aren't Evergreen, and even the Evergreen themes cycle through different subthemes.
  10. Belgians. I used my little grey cells.
  11. You aren't supposed to use Eurobricks as a photo host. The small allowance is for an avatar image and Lego Digital Designer files for sharing. If you use an external image host and then link then deeplink the images (A number of tutorials exist in the help section and linked in my sig) then there should be no issues.
  12. I'm going to go with Swedish for that one there Holodoc.
  13. Thanks I like building cars, mostly at figure scale, but this set was too cute to pass for less than £4. I had a lot of fun playing about with the parts.
  14. Using creator set 3012: Blue Racer, I created four of my own alternate models. It was a lot of fun! x24Hrs is made to look like a number of the road hugging racing car styles. Sport* is made to look like a sporty two-seater to take out for a drive on a nice day or a track day. . Boost was just for a little fun. Make something that looks like it can go fast. Photos are a bit poor, but as they were essentially table-scrap builds I just snapped pics with my phone before taking them apart and trying again. I must have built about 12 different things and these three were my favourite successful builds. A "fail" was something I did not like the final look of, couldn't get to "work" with what I was aiming for in building, or something just too fragile to stay together. So there we go.
  15. It's so colourful! The use of an umbrella is an elegant solution to the lack of dishes in the correct size and colour. I think Unikitty would be happy on board too!
  16. I use makeup brushes. You can usually pick up a really cheap set in the supermarket or a value shop (£/$). There are about 5 different brushes of varied sizes and while the cheap ones are bad for applying makeup to the face, they are great for dusting LEGO/Action Figures/Model Kits. They can get in all the awkward corners, even if it takes a little longer to do it, they are great for dusting.
  17. Cheers CMSci. It is great to have a chance to build, even if it is a 30 minute muck around with parts. I love dark red, I am very happy that the colouring issues were worked out as it is a favourite to use in all possible situations. Odd that there are two threads, I only hit the post button once! I'll go bring it up with Admin. Maybe my end sent it twice (I have had a few 'hiccups' when streaming video this evening), or when I nipped in to edit it something went funny.
  18. Jake Raines is out in the desert seeking a rumoured lost Sphinx. He has a tough car to track through the near non-existent roads and shifting sands. So, I bought a mostly complete Rise of the Sphinx on eBay and haven't got around to sorting the parts yet. I whipped together this car from what was in the bag of parts. I like the challenge of limits to parts. I think this came out all right. It's also my first build in ages, most of my collection is awaiting the completion of my LEGO space... On closer inspection, it looks like I need to give these parts a good dust!
  19. What he said. the .LXF is fine, that is why there is a little bit of upload space (And for an Avatar) but the image has to be hosted on a different site.
  20. Members are not supposed to correct other members, it is why there is a moderation team . As mentioned above, an in-thread request is posted to let members know we have asked about it, to prevent them commenting themselves or reporting the user for bad grammar. It is appreciated that a lot of people do not use English as a first language, a fair percentage of the staff are from countries with their own language. I know I have caught a lot of members who should know better as they have English as a first language and asked them to work on this for the benefit of those who might struggle reading it. I am very aware of issues people may have with spelling: having struggled with dyslexia all my life. I take extra effort and a browser spell-checker so my posts will be readable to others
  21. Blu-Ray has the figures. I just picked up Attack of the Legion of Doom in HMV for £8.99 with the Trickster figure. However I came in here to find out if the figure in Cosmic Clash is exclusive to a certain retailer, as there is no sign in any of the shops I visited today (HMV, ASDA) but they had the plain disc in Blu-ray and DVD. There is only one seller who has it on ebay for a whopping £22! Amazon wants the full £12.99, but that means more personal effort as my card there expired so I have to reset my details (and I am feeling super blah lazy). So, is anyone aware of it being exclusive, or is the Blu-ray + Figure box not actually out in the UK yet?
  22. Possible, and not being overly familiar with the storyline: Wasn't he a villain in his first appearance and then converted to the good guys later on? Sometimes in simplistic design terms, the baddie has a more complicated and fussy look than a straightforward good guy.
  23. Cheaper brands are not associated with Quality. Quality in materials, Quality in design and Quality in manufacturing. A cheap brand brick, even one of the more mainstream types (Kreo, Mega etc) does not have the same gloss to the plastic, or the same look and feel. I can spot a non-LEGO brick in a pile pretty quickly simply due to the fact there are tooling/mould marks and a different sheen to a brick. Then you have the £/$ store bricks that stick together if you're lucky and don't crack into painful shards by sheer chance. Great way to shut a kid up for a while, not useful in the long term. A brand like LEGO has history, so there is trust in the name. Yes, there is a hint of nostalgia for some parents who want to hand on to their children the enjoyment they had. You also have the desirable licensed properties attracting kids and parents to the toy. The minifigure plays a part too, it is a design classic and people like the original and other IP characters to collect. (See the popularity of Pop! products etc also). I prefer to work with LEGO as the quality is guaranteed, if there is a problem I can easily and quickly solve it by communicating with a company I know will be happy to help. So, that's why I think LEGO as a brand is so strong and should remain so for a long while.
  24. It is a toy for kids and who cares? I mean, were getting to a point where I as staff have to start questioning maturity levels and actual age. I'm a woman (shock horror!) and I like MLP, I did not as a child, the current lot is so enjoyable that I picked up some merch. I have more fashion dolls than I ever did as a kid (Where were the robot girls and ghost dolls when I was a kid huh?) and my sister currently collects and modifies dolls as a hobby. I also have so much LEGO that if my six year old self saw it, she would probably explode from how cool that is. I fully accept that to some staid and stuffy circles, you can only like anything from a small pool of "acceptable" hobbies for "adults". However these days a lot of adults are allowed to enjoy what they want, be it video games, model trains or colourful plastic bricks. Now, can the debate be continued elsewhere on the forum as this is more an issue facing all LEGO than just Ninjago as a theme.
