  1. It's okay. Sometimes the volume is higher than at the regular shops, others it's the same. Selection varies, again depending on the size set apart for the feature. If it was consistent, I could tell you more, but the main shop can change and the park sometimes has a whole store set aside for pab/bam and other times not. Check what the attraction list says, chances are that a minifig shop would have a good selection and be listed.
  2. Need reservation at Kirchenbauerhof: yes/no -> Yes - Apartment sharing: yes/no -> I may not be able to share with my usual roomie, but I am happy to share the apartment space. - Number of persons and length of stay? 1, me the whole event - Are you member of a registered LUG? Yes, sticker and all. - Anything else we need to know? I land at 10am in Munich. Company to travel with (train or taxi is no issue) would be appreciated.
  3. I land near enough to 10am. Happy to meet anyone prior to travel from Munich to the event.
  4. Got to say, that forge is certainly on my purchase list I like dragons and buildings and it has both! I'm not rating the other sets much though. I don't know, it just seems to be more of the same. Maybe the movie will provide some more Ninja sets, but I have to say that this wave has less sets that atract me than the Nindroid one. (IMO, not the best wave really)
  5. It looks like nothing is going to be an answer that satisfies you. We run the forum the best we can on our own time, for free. Harsh or not, the chamber works. People have had a chat, the problem is sorted and they go on to be welcome members. Ok, so you are cross about being picked up on one post, but why not use the message system to tell the member asking an off topic question? Everyone can lie on their profile, age/birthdate mean nothing on the internet. Heck, I set my location as The Planet Zi, though clearly I'm not from there. As Phred said, you get to a point where you appear to be dealing with kids. I hope you can cool off a bit and carry on enjoying the site.
  6. It's a private chat, not a temporary ban. A chat with full oversight, hence the forum. I'm also going to add that constant and consistent off topic posting makes the thread unrelated to the original topic. So all posts need action to be taken.
  7. Guys, some of you have just been warned about staying on topic. Can you try and go at least a day? Also, can we keep the language civil? Thanks.
  8. My flight options get me in before midday. Not very pricey either!
  9. Recycle! I have kept the nice boxes that my LEGO Architecture: Ideas House came in, and the little Castle Knight Promo box. Everything else, from the little card cartons Nexo Knights come in, right up to the biggest boxes all get sliced down and packed off to the recycling bin.
  10. IP address issues maybe? Did you try and reach EB from home on your phone, or were you somewhere else? Suspect IPs can be added to the ban list to help keep spam from the forum.
  11. So, anyone got landing times for Munich? Meeting up to travel to the hotel is fun and makes me feel a little more secure!
  12. Got Ruina's Lock and Roller and enjoyed the build a lot. Love the little face on the vehicle. Actually, the little vehicle without the cage reminded me of the gestalt mode summons in Final Fantasy XIII. A very cool design indeed. Now I am awaiting the appearance of sets in my local ASDA, they always knock a little off the price to stay competitive.
  13. I will book the dates as soon as I can. Then get to checking for flights!
  14. True, and yet you are even more off topic by asking this, three months and several days after the post.
  15. Ninjas are going to be big The very creative SERVATOR has shared this amusing build in Action and Adventure Themes. Take a look at more angles and post a comment there.
  16. Fantastic use of that bigger figure. The bending tree is also a brilliant little detail. It is creations like this that really stick out.
  17. The only real time I had missing parts, it turned out that the box flap was loose and as the set had dual numbered bags (two bag 8 etc) I had not noticed one had slipped out where I stored the box. Fortunately I found it quickly.
  18. I know I bought doubles of one or two sets when one went on clearance, but it wasn't memorable? I also bought about four of 8777: Vladek Encounter. Horses for £3 a pop at Tesco a loong time ago. Otherwise, it is hard to keep track of doubles. I get Mixels on deals/clearance. I get minifigures for parts. Everything is there to build up the collection. If it has a good colour/parts selection then I am tempted once it drops below £5.
  19. Eh, I'm not a hipster burnout. I totally agree that it is a set for the fans of the show. A lot of LEGO Ideas sets seem to head for the "collector" market. Trying to grab someone who wants a neat toy of something they already like. If one is deemed more appealing than another, then it will be made into a set.
  20. What time is it? LEGO Ideas and Cartoon Network have joined together to create a totally Algebraic new set. 21308 Adventure Time! The official product description reads: Also, as we all know, LEGO Ideas sets have come from the clever and creative brain-spaces of LEGO fans. From the LEGO Ideas blog I present aBetterMonkey (aka Ludovic Piraud) The set stats for all you number hungry heroes: Parts: 495 Pieces Prices: $49.99 (I can only find the dollar price right now...) Here's the box, the usual sturdier fold out flap package that the more "presentation" oriented sets are sold in. It is very attractive and colourful, with the graphics styled like the cartoon and the characters posed in a way reminiscent to the cartoon too. Showing us just what we get with all the important branding logos too! The back of the box is a cute comic strip arrangement comparing the build-able figures and the characters in the show. Honestly, this is making me hope that there might be an all LEGO styled episode in the series. The Ideas blurb on the boxout informs you about the set. The sides have a continuation of the Land of Ooo styled landscape. Here is a nice little bit printed under the flap. Sage advice too. Inside there are three numbered bags and the full colour instruction manual. The Manual itself has the full instructions and a little character biography for the featured characters. Also, popping up on a few pages are the brick-built characters themselves with little quotes to enjoy as you build. The instructions are clear and easy to follow, building in a logical way to create each figure. Bag 1 Finn, Jake, BMO and a brick separator. Very useful tool, but I have nearly 12 now. Included as these Ideas sets are often aimed more at the fan of the theme than the LEGO fan, so it will be useful for them. There are printed tiles and bricks to create our favourite characters and the colours required too. Certainly it is mostly basic parts, but the result are some very charming figures. Here's the boys (and BMO). Two controllers for video gaming, a cute little BMO with NPU(Nice Parts Use) hotdog arms! BMO is just as adorable as in the series. Jake is all the right colours with the usual cheery grin. The construction of his face means you can build plenty of his morphed forms. I'm looking forward to having a go at building a Jake Suit. Now our hero himself, Finn the Human Boy. The clean lines of a brick-built figure suit the character, two round tiles as the bear hat ears are a great little detail. Pose-ability is minimal, but the mixel ball joints allow some sword swinging detail. The simplicity of the sword design also means it is easy to create many more of Finn's favourite things to take into battle. Overall, these three are well designed, fun to build and cute to boot. Spares aren't actually very remarkable, but spare parts do add to a collection. Bag 2 Here we have the parts for building Marceline the Vampire Queen, Ice King and Gunter the penguin. Printed eyes and two printed 1x3 bricks for the faces. The snowflakes are always lovely to see and these trans-lite-blue ones are great. The pyramid in trans-pink is also very pretty. Here we have the rockin' Marceline, Gunter the possibly evil penguin and Simon Ice King. I just love Marceline's design, getting the hair just right but still LEGO like is excellently accomplished here. Mixel joint arms again let there be some poses, but it is a little hard to get the axe-bass into a good place. Gunter the penguin is a cute little thing, his wings are two shield tiles that leave minimal possibility, Though, how much do penguins need to do? Ice King has an impressive beard, the nose we all know and the magic crown. The snowflakes are a nice touch and the ball joint arms are perfect for Ice King, you don't see many more movements from him than flying and waving his arms around. These three were fun to build and again capture the look of the cartoon characters very well. Spares, minimal again, but an extra pyramid in trans-pink is great. Bag 3 Bag three contents, everything we need for Lady Rainicorn and Princess Bubblegum. Eyes and a printed face, interesting parts include a tan coloured flag and many parts in shades of pink. There are four Unikitty tails in tan also, useful for sculptures and architectural detail. The finished build. Off scale of course, as PB does fly around on Lady. (Lady and Peebs is an excellent example of an episode). Princess Bubblegum looks lovely. Again, the character designs really do suit LEGO. Her crown is well done, the tile is a nice touch too. A few more expressions would have been good, PB has a wide range after all. A better look at Lady, made pose-able from clips and bars, using the new rounded 1x1 plates with bar, you can arrange the legs a little too. The all important rainbow stripes are well done. All in all, she's a great little build. Spares, just little parts again. Bonus Round! "We're Fighting a Dragon!!!" (Creator 31032 Red Creatures not included in the Ideas set) Conclusion Overall, this is an excellent set. It was great fun to play with. After I had built them, there was lots of playing to be done. The characters are fun to pose and display. Great to play with and the simplistic design means there are many additions one can make to accessories the characters. I give it a 10 out of 10, top marks A+ (and others of that like.) This set was completely Algebraic! If you are an Adventure Time fan or have a fan in your life this set is a great buy. Thanks to TLG and Eurobricks for this chance to get my hands on this great Ideas Set. .
  21. Another great thing to try is to get a picture of something you want to build, a car or a building or anything really. Then just go for it with replicating it in bricks. Use any colours if the part fits, don't worry if you have to backtrack and take parts off/out. You can recreate the shape and then concern yourself with the colour-scheme, how sturdy it is etc.
  22. Will have to take a look at that then. The pre-opening was super fun, so this should be interesting too.
  23. Arity, I will be getting to that Tesco place soon! I have two to choose from and a Sunday morning free....
  24. Alrighty then, I wonder how long I have to wait for the UK supermarkets to shove 'em in? The shelves are getting sparse, but Boxing Day is the big clearout. It gives me time to count out the filled change jar anyway! (Always keep that for fresh LEGO sets!)
  25. So here is a story: When I was young, I had the Scorpion Tracker, it was my favourite LEGO set. However as a child, my brothers and I forever existed in a state of them stealing my LEGO and me getting it back with interest! As such, somewhere in the years between me getting it and my reaching, say 14 (so a few years) a tile went missing . I didn't have huge amounts of LEGO, so I was quite disappointed that it was gone. My brothers denied all knowledge and that was that. This year, more than ten years later I was tidying up in the loft (incidentally, to make a space for my LEGO) I found a box half-full of my brother's childhood toys and assorted junk. (Yes, YuGiOh card wrappers totally need keeping) so I sorted through. There at the bottom, in a corner with a few stray bricks? My tile! So yes, things do turn up. If you wait, don't panic search and leave it there in your mind, you might just come across it.
