Are we getting less "themes"?
Peppermint_M replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in General LEGO Discussion
You know, that old cycle of themes are in-house "big bang" themes, just as much as Ninjago started as and Nexo Knights is. Trends change in entertainment media and that changes the stories and settings that kids like. These themes are a successful attempt at what LEGO tried years ago with Galidor (TV series and toys), with less risk as the costly media is produced by partners and not in house by TLG themselves. -

Ah, I was going to ask if I had missed anything about payment sorting. Hopefully you can come Boney! We'll fit you onto a couch or something -
What would be considered a "large" LEGO collection?
Peppermint_M replied to Brikkyy13's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I compare to my past. So, when I started my sorting task two years ago, I had four 40 litre boxes full of LEGO. When I was a child, I had less than 40 litres of LEGO and about fifty mixed figures. I like to say I have a big collection now (I stopped counting minifigures a long time ago). Plus, in the last two years I think I must have added about 25%. It isn't a problem, but it is large!- 36 replies

Could you try to format things in a better way? At the moment things look really hard to read. Also, this is a little off topic. There are always rumours about games. Positive and negative both. However, it is not the fault of anyone if someone hears something they do not like. I get it, highly strung kids can be easy to upset, but the game will still exist even if new content is not generated ~(Take it from a Disney Infinity fan)~ The other issues you seem to be facing are better tackled on those platforms, not here on EB.

Jealous that you have those! I can't get hold of the new Speed Champions (even in the LEGO Store!) Those are great modifications, eight wide is a nice size for car builds. Scale is always quite awkward with LEGO Minifigures. As they are not too scale with people, making the "real deal" sort of MOCs becomes a real challenge.

Which Forum do I post my Hybrid Classic - City Police posts?
Peppermint_M replied to Takeshi Miranda's topic in Community
Police and City can go in LEGO Town section. Classic is suited to Special Themes. I hope that helps and I look forward to MOCs to see! -
The Goodbury Group are proud to present their latest in NulGrav racing machines: The Starling Mark IX Speeder bike. Unveiled recently to celebrate the bi-centenary of Goodbury's foray into high performance bikes, the Starling Mark IX will be put through its paces on the world stage at the Dakar Rally of 2175. Racing Pilot Tab "Redline" Aeron has made it clear she plans to win while pushing the bike to its limits. -- My entry to the LSB 2017 contest. I heard about it about a week ago and had to turn my hand to a speederbike to enter! This probably took about six hours of work and I can't even say how many parts I used. At the very core (as the base building off point) is a simple horse saddle and it just moves from there. The real inspiration for this was the amazing art of Chris Foss. Not only do I have the recent art-book presenting his work, I also have the Terran Trade Authority handbooks which used a lot of his work. Hope you liked this. Comments etc are welcome.

As ever, a most beautiful Dragon. You really do create some superb and detailed beasts.

[MOC] Visiting the Raven God shrine
Peppermint_M replied to Bob De Quatre's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Neat! 10/10 Will steal Really now, If I knock a bit gilding off here and there and stick Johnny Thunder in there then it is totally an Adventurer's build! Just curious, which were mandatory parts/theme? Also: Is that whole top half only held on by a 1x1 stud on the dish? (It looks like a dish). Anyway, enough blathering. Great MOC! -
Eurobricks Event 2017 trading post
Peppermint_M replied to Ryushi's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
I'm not looking for anything specific myself but I can get down to the shop tomorrow and pick up all three. I'll figure out the euro price for them and we can swap at the event, that way I get a little more spending money! -
That's really nice. How does the plastic of the bricks compare to LEGO? I also guess that the cape is glossy paper?

Thread locking = poor moderating
Peppermint_M replied to ghostmind's topic in Forum Information and Help
If there is a bad car crash, the authorities close the road to get things cleaned up and sorted out. When a thread is a car crash, closing it is a good way to stop a problem escalating. Once it is dealt with the thread reopens. -
Eurobricks Event 2017 trading post
Peppermint_M replied to Ryushi's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
Tokyo Pitstop, World Grand Prix Rivalry and Mater's Spy Zone were what I spotted there. All at lower than retail cost. I cant be 100% that all of the boxes were in good condition and they may have run out of one set before I get back there (But they have been knocking around a few weeks now). If you are interested, I can pick some up. -

Locally there are a number of older sets. I can get a number of Cars 2 sets, some Creator and even an Atlantis sub. I also have a Jack Sparrow polybag, a red arm C3P0 polybag and possibly a few more knocking around. -

Help for mecha shoulder mechanism
Peppermint_M replied to Wolfolo's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Well, I was trying to think of decent shifting mechanisms/parts (I adore Macross/Robotech, so I have a few ideas about making an SDF-1) I had hopes for this rotation joint: (Images are links) but I realise it may take out some angles of movement and be off scale. Mixel ball-joints are also very versatile. I'd like to help more, but I work a lot better at solving MOCs with my hands (never got on with LDD). -
Help for mecha shoulder mechanism
Peppermint_M replied to Wolfolo's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Have you tried looking at what Nexo Knights has to offer? There are one or two shifting mechanisms in the first wave of sets. -
Support two large base plates underneath
Peppermint_M replied to andybno1's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Subtle use of tape? If you want to keep them together and there is absolutely no way to mod that into the MOC, get some tape use that! Free-sitting on a tabletop isn't the worst thing either. -
@LEGODalekbuster523 Quit it. Stop. Cease. Halt. No more Doctor Who. I love Doctor Who (I have gone to watch filming) and I love the Doctor Who figures and level. But we don't need to hear more about Doctor Who and how much you want more. I realise it may be a particular favourite of yours, even a focus, but no one else is interested in more discussion on it. So please refrain from more until such a time as new sets for Doctor Who (ever) arrive. Thank you.

Wowee, I want that Knights set!

LEGO Ninjago 2017 Discussion
Peppermint_M replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Alright, no more arguments please. "Hints" and mentioning that you have seen the sets might fall foul of the rules, they will probably also put yourselves and whoever shared with you at risk of issues wit employers. Especially if you work for TLG. It does look like you just want to show off and boost your ego, not share information with fans. Calling people out and having a bit of a barmy with them is something that derails the thread, so I'd ask that you keep it civil. EB, as a forum, tries to keep a lid on leaks these days, so that we don't look like the source of issues for TLG (avoiding lawsuits would be nice, y'know?). We've got plenty to talk about from the trailers, so stick to the stuff we're allowed to know right? Cheers. -
Okay, so that looked fantastic, entertaining in just the trailer! I love those builds and can't wait to see more.

Help with identifying parts/sets!
Peppermint_M replied to WhiteFang's topic in General LEGO Discussion
There is also the chance that it is from Megablocks. They produced spiderman sets.
