  1. Hawkman - Leave the moderating to the moderators. There are going to be repetitive posts and people who may have missed early posts, but this is a friendly forum and this is not a big deal. Durins Bane - If you're going to make very strong comments about sets, you have to be prepared to have a civil discussion about it. This is a discussion thread, and if you don't want to continue a conversation with someone, you have the option of not responding to them, but they have every right to post their opinion, just as you have.
  2. I believe you enter TOY20OFF at checkout. You may need to pay with an Amazon credit card though.
  3. There's been a long and involved argument about this over in the CMF threads, and MF is the only line that may have come out due to the success of the Zombie IMO
  4. Beautiful MOC! I agree that the use of 1x2 tiles looks gorgeous! You've also done a good job of capturing the hilliness of the town (if that's a word). Great job!
  5. This is an awesome build! I love that it ended up in here instead of pirates, because we rarely get to see ship to ship battles here. The water, island and ships are all very well done!
  6. Very nice build! The color scheme is excellent, and you make very good use of those gold bricks.
  7. That's a great find! I picked up a second one of these when Walmart was clearancing them for half off, and bricklinked at face value - now I'm wishing I still had the second one.
  8. You've done a beautiful job with this ship! I really like the lines of the aft deck, and the ship as a whole is very smooth and realistic in appearance. Great MOC!
  9. Nice MOC! The landscaping is well done, and I really like the use of the whips, and the stones/pillars are well done too.
  10. I think that modular sets would be feasible if they were small enough and if each one was designed with enough action/flare to make it appealing as a stand alone set. This is actually what my idea has been for CUUSO all along, I just haven't been able to put together good designs that balance individual appeal with modular use. I'm thinking it would consist of 3 or 4 sets - tower/tower with wall; wall with building and gatehouse. The sets would range in price from $20 - $50, and you would need to be able to build a small castle for around $100, and a large deluxe castle for around $200. i think it's doable, but all of my creativity has been focused on GoH lately.
  11. I love the fortified bridge, the old mill, the avalonian farm, the mitgardian homestead and the larger kaliplin mill. These are amazing minis! The lantern for the Petreae student is excellent as well. Great work!
  12. These are getting better and better every day! I love the giant plate, the claw coming out from the bed, and everything afterwards keeps getting more intricate - these are excellent!
  13. The lizard skeleton is great! Poor horse.
  14. I was wondering what that blue guy was doing out front - you double displayed for this AND prime minister! Trixy Mitgardianses. I wasn't going to escalate, but with all of you loud-talking Mitgardians, I may have to. Flowery tree houses... Bah!
  15. Headlight bricks have limited use, tiles are on PaB walls pretty often, but 2x4 bricks are a bit harder to come by as they take up so much room in the PaB cup. I would pick up white, gray, black - all useful colors to have a lot of bricks in.
  16. Those mushrooms are going to come in so handy! I went back and forth on how to do the bee hives, but I'm happy with how they turned out. I was inspired by the waterfalls in Challenge 5, but I wanted to come up with my own way of doing it. There are actually at least 5 or 6 different heads there, even if they look pretty similar. I know I used the same one for the two returning with the herbs and fowl, but they are sisters I waited all week just to take photos outside for once, but it was overcast on Saturday, and then rain/snow all day on Sunday. I actually bought two more lights for my photos. I am using flood lights though instead of 100w to avoid the glare. I may have to switch off. I am much happier with the pictures though - they are less grainy than my previous ones. Thanks! I really wanted to add some birds in, without using the standard parrot/owl mold. I wanted to have one of the druids returning with a kill, and this was easier than a brickbuilt deer carcass Thanks for all the comments!
  17. PLEASE GET UP TO DATE ON THE PRIME MINISTER POST BEFORE READING THIS http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=76234 It will make more sense. Cecil B. Prosperous, resident of Avalonia, scoundrel, renegade and neer-do-well has had multiple run-ins with the law, and in the interest of transparency, the Society for the Incareration of Criminals Known (SICK) is providing this update as to his recent activity. Cecil B. Prosperous is attempting to register as a candidate for the position of Mitgardian Prime Minister. We at SICK would like to provide the real story. Item #1 Cecil B. Prosperous has claimed to possess or own a carriage, coach or luxury wagon. Cecil B. Prosperous has never legally owned any of these vehicles. As shown in this picture, Cecil B. Prosperous was illegal inhabiting the carriage of a wealthy Mitgardian noble. The suspect was pursued by the coachmen, who were unable to apprehend him. The name of the Mitgardian nobleman is being witheld to protect the innocent. Item #2 Cecil B. Prosperous claims to have partaken of this gourmet dinner. Cecil B. Properous has never retained the services of a cook or servant that has possessed the skills to prepare a meal of this quality. As shown in this picture, Cecil B. Prosperous trespassed onto the property of another wealthy Mitgardian (name also withheld) and his presence was not immediately noticed by the private security force. The suspect was again pursued by the private security, who were unable to apprehend him before he escaped the property. Item #3 Cecil B. Prosperous claims to have empolyed accredited security professionals as bodyguards. Cecil B. Prosperous has never retained the services of legitimate security personell. He has been known to associate with mercenaries and other persons of a less than savoury reputation. Cecil B. Prosperous was apprehended shortly after his criminal offenses shown above. He is currently incarcerated in a maximum security facility run by the govenment of Mitgardia. Charges have been filed against the suspect, and are being processed at this time. Cecil B. Prosperous is not eligilble to run for the position of Mitgardian Prime Minister for two reasons. 1.) Only residents of Mitgardia are eligible candidates for the position. 2.) Individuals who are incarcerated at the time of the election are not eligible candiates for the position. (It is anticipated that Cecil B. Prosperous will be incarcerated for a minimum of 30 days, and a maximum of 20 years.)
  18. Have you had enough of COLD and SNOW??? Are you sick and tired of tilling the thin stony soil just to have 2 turnips grow??? It's time for change in Mitgardia, and that change is spelled Cecil B. Prosperous Has Answers to your problems that will be Nice and Good for Everyone! (Cecil B. Prosperous does not have the power to stop snow, change the weather or have any effect on your farming. Cecil B. Prosperous cannot be held responsible for any propoganda that may be written in his name, written by him, or said by him.) Would you like to live in the lap of luxury, have your own carriage like me? You could be carted around in style, never have to walk again! A vote for Cecil is a vote for Carriages! (Cecil B. Prosperous does not own a carriage, nor has he ever technically ridden in one*. Cecil B. Prosperous will not provide any carriages to anyone if he is elected.) (*Prison Wagons do not count as carriages) How would you like to have this spread for every meal! Just elect me, and I will show you my five step process to wealth, free of charge!* I eat like this for every meal, and boy does it feel good! (*Cecil B. Prosperous' "Free wealth for the taking" program costs only 10 gold coins for the 1st step, and 20 gold coins for each additional step, cancel at any time) With my personal bodyguard, I have no fear of robbers, crooks or thieves. If elected, I will provide soldiers for every family, so you can be secure from wild bears, renegade bandits, and rabid weasels.* (Cecil B. Prosperous considers a "family" to consist of not less than 100, and not more than 1000 persons, regardless of bloodline or relation) A vote for Cecil is a vote for Prosperity! Find out more about Cecil here: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=76871
  19. I'm jealous too of your leaves and your sheep. The pipe is great and the fence is well done. The rock work looks cool too - I'll have to try that. Nice build!
  20. The forests of Avalonia have thrived for centuries, and have always been inhabited by druids. Legends say that the druids of old wielded great power and had expansive knowledge of natural and mystic lore. Most people doubt that any of the modern day druids have the blood of the ancient druids in their veins, but they do possess a wealth of lore about the Avalonian woods. The Sisters of Spring are an order of druids that tend to the cycle of life that is forever flowing through the forests. This order is non-militant, and lives in harmony with nature, culling the week and promoting growth and renewal. The Sisters live in camps throughout Avalonia, and prefer to avoid permanent dwellings such as houses. This particular camp has established at the entrance to a series of caves beside a small waterfall. While this camp is composed solely of Elves, druids of other races are not unheard of. The Sisters keep bees for honey, and can also glean information from them about the growth of the forest's flowers and buds, as well as the impending weather. They also harvest wild grapes to produce a potent wine that is popular with Avalonians. The Sisters trade with townsfolk for bottles their wine. They gather herbs and roots from the surrounding woodlands for food and medicinal purposes. They have also been known to bring down fowl for their dinner tables. The Sisters also trade for bread and cheese to supplement their diet of fruits, vegetables, nuts, honey and cider. Fish from the stream are cooked and dried for the winter ahead. The stream also provides water for cooking and bathing, and the Sisters fill cisterns in the caves below. The Sisters live in harmony with the woods, as they have for centuries. As custodians of the forest, they will care for the plants and animals and ensure that they continue to flourish. Flickr Gallery:
  21. This is what you've been working on! I love it! Great interior, the use of the crates is brilliant! I am very jealous of the trees, and I love your color usage. Great MOC!
  22. Love it! I am tempted to build another force, but that would just escalate things. I like my archers better than yours by a longshot (laughs at own self hysterically) but you do have the cavalry and the catapults (although I'm less concerned about the catapults since my forces would be more spread out than your traditional formation)
  23. You'll note that the Elves running away have blonde hair... not part of the main Elven host from Avalonia
  24. Thanks for the preview! This really doesn't seem like a big enough overhaul to warrant a new set, the only things is the Pilot, which is cool and frustrating at the same time since I'll have to Bricklink them.
