LEGO Collectible Minifigures Golden Minifigure Discussion
Rogue Angel replied to TrumpetKing's topic in Special LEGO Themes
As I am not a completist, I could care less about the gold minifigure. I don't see any value in it for my MOCs. Of corse I'll still be happy if I somehow come across one because I can sell it.- 87 replies

Puss "No" Boots sets off to visit Zakon GoldBlade

Great story, love the Fat tree! The Chima figures have a ton of potential. I'm already using them in one of my builds I'm finishing. -
What is the meaning of this?

Peaceful!? It's defense in Avalonia, from the Drow, Revolword, Nocturnus... And you know what we say, the best defense is a good offense. -
I agree that the horizontal rock style works very well in this build. Nice action packed build!

A lot of creative use of hair pieces. I wish they made those in more colors (like shades of green)

Avalonia Guild: Homepage, Sign-up and Discussion
Rogue Angel replied to Derfel Cadarn's topic in Guilds of Historica
I can't tell you how much time I've spent filtering out Megablocks from Lego buys. That's the risk you take when you buy from rummage sales, off Craigslist...They are pretty easy to identify though after you seen them a few times. I always get mad at myself when I find one in my Lego collection that I missed. Tainting my Lego pieces - Unacceptable! -

I wasn't saying you didn't. There were a number of Yankees references, and since I despise them, I figured I'd chime in. -

Welcome back Gabe! Can't wait to see more pics of that beaut, and the fortress behind her! -
Can't say I'm too disappointed with a new dragon faction. It's better than rereleasing crownies or the last dragon theme. Each dragon shield so far has been significantly different than the last, and it's feasible to have a variety of types of dagons. Now Lion...again...that's a different story entirely.

Avalonia Guild: Homepage, Sign-up and Discussion

Comparing Avalonia to the Yankees is a bit off. You hate the Yankees because they are a bought and paid for team. The Yankees should be in every World Series because they're so much money sunk into them. When a small team like the Brewers makes it to the playoffs, it's a huge accomplishment because they earned it. In actuality, those that join Avalonia are making it harder on themselves to win competitions because there are so many active builders here. On the flipside we have Nocturnus, with the fewest active builders (although that has not kept them from submitting a top tier build for every challenge!) so theoretically this would be the best guild to join if you were trying to win competitions. The appeal of Avalonia is that it is your standard setting for a lot European classic adventure literature (Robin Hood, King Arthur, Ivanhoe) and it's what comes to mind when a lot of people think of their standard castle setting. It has the large forests and has the sprawling lowlands of the agricultural bread basket of Historica. And it has Elves. Mitgardia and Kaliphlin are very good alternatives for the standard mid-to-southern Europe landscape. Mitgardia captures your Vikings and mountainous regions, while Kaliphlin covers all of your Arabian tales, and Mediterranean climes. Nocturnus doesn't fall into one of the cookie-cutter categories you'd think of for building. It's something a lot of people might like to build in upon occasion, but then they head back to the more standard castle setting. I think that Nocturnus builders are the most daring and innovative of all the guilds because they have to think outside the standard "castle box" if you will (and I will). People have a much harder time envisioning swamp than they do forest or desert or moutains. In the end, for me it came down to Elves. They were in Avalonia, so that's where I am. -

They are slaughtering Nocturnal goats so it won't affect our cheese supply. What Avalonian would eat Nocturnus Cheese? Have you seen what they call goats? Besides, It would probably be laced with poison, or at least a strong laxative. -

Silly k-nigts! -
I really like the base for this. It reminds me of what Legonardo's been doing, but you've layered it throughout the MOC. I also really like the story - the expression on the herder is perfect!

And I though I had quite a few of these guys with 10! I love the change of foliage, and I really like the standard with the 2x2 white radar and the.. Monster Fighters 1x1 tile, is it? Very nice!

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 11 Rumours & Discussion
Rogue Angel replied to CM4Sci's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I don't see any reason to think this list is fake. This list was released with the list for series 10, and we've already seen almost all the parts for that series. While I'm disappointed with this list, I think it's legit. -
If you guys have issues, you should be coming to moderators, and we can address it. You are very quick to judge other people and take offense. Darth Caedus comment appeared to be directed at the MOCer, not the poster, and while Lord of the Bricks films may be suitable for it's own topic, this is for the Mods to decide. If you have an issue, report it, don't start laying into other members. We are trying to maintain a civil forum here. We don't normally need the structure that the Star Wars forum needs because we have less activity, and our posters are generally well behaved.

I apologize for the mass bumping of topics. When I went through and updated the Index, I found a ton of builds I had missed. I tried to comment in reverse order, to keep the newest stuff at the top, but I apologize if I missed something, or backed something up. Just wanted to give some comment to all the great builds I've missed.

Guilds of Historica Character Location and Facts
Rogue Angel replied to Kai NRG's topic in Guilds of Historica
Holy cow! You've put a ton of work into this so far. Great job! -
It seems like a few people are trying to nail down details about Victor's residence, current locations, details about Cedrica. These are all going to depend on each person's entry, so it will vary from person to person.

I agree with Rob, Quite the use of color and figures. I don't think I've seen anyone use those Medium Blue KK2 figures before.
-
Innovative use of legs and torsos. I hadn't really ever considered doing this before.
