Let's try to stay more on topic guys. General LotR discussions do not belong in here unless they are relevant to the 2013 line, and if there is already a topic - that's where you should be posting, not here because there is more traffic.

Beautiful build LG - I love the scarecrow! -
This ship is GORGEOUS! I love the prow and the stern, the figureheads, the railing/sides of the ship above the oars, and the custom sails. A beautiful build behind the ship as well. One question - wouldn't this run aground that close to the shore? Superb MOC!

Great job on this build. The sloping vegetation is my favorite part, but it is a very nice compact build. Excellent work!
-
Four beautiful builds here! Great story as well. I have to say the 1st build is my favorite, I would love to see more in this style (like your LoTR MOC)

Brilliant!

I love the flow lines you've created for the cave, and the use of the Chima figures is excellent. Nice build!

Very nice build. It's great to see more mundane builds and the assembly line is excellent! Good job!

Departure of the Southern Lions from Messahmuk
Rogue Angel replied to NiceMarmot's topic in Guilds of Historica
I love this build. I loved seeing the progress as you posted, even though I'm just getting around to posting here. It's great to see armies in action, and I love the story. The ground cover and the mine are great as are the castle walls. Great job! -
I really like the front view, but the tiles just right of the door, and the tiles on the side are a bit too symmetrical IMO. Of course you had already mentioned that you had to switch to headlights which would explain it. Nice build!

Nice ruins! I like the structure of the walls and the pillars look great. It does have a great ruined feel to it!

I have to agree that a new orc print, while nice, is less important to me than getting Gondorian soldiers, Wood Elves, Eowyn, Faramir, Galadriel... although I would rather have a new orc print over some of the more obscure characters - Grima Wormtongue for example (even though some will argue that he is a main character). I feel that the white hand armor and helm were a huge gift for orc lovers, and with the distinction between orcs and Uruk-hai already represented, the key points have been hit by Lego.

I'm aware that this is pure speculation as I have read all of the books. I don't want people to start discussing the contents of the published books as the TV series is just starting the 3rd book, and they would not expect to find spoilers on a Lego thread.

Please don't post Game of Thrones spoilers on here. Many people have not read the books yet and it is getting popular with the HBO series.

I'm not a big fan of the new dragon symbol, but I do like the Torsos. The Crown/Lion conglomeration is annoying because it replicates the existing factions so it's not new, but it doesn't match either one so you can't utilize it without combining crown and lion together. Frustratingly useless, especially because I like the color combination of the crown/Lions.

How did Orthanc suddenly becomes cancelled? How quickly speculation becomes gospel. I look forward to seeing Orthanc later on this year.

Just because one Avalonian is doing some bad rhyming does not mean that Avalonia has taken up poetry, and the guild threads are open to discussion from members of any guild. -

I keep my pieces stored in 4 ways. I use Sterilite bins for all of my bulk or larger pieces (All bricks, all plates greater than 1x2, all animals, foliage, most of my slopes, etc.) About half of these bins are also devoted to complete Star Wars sets that I have in storage (The ones in the picture are currently in the bins instead) For smaller pieces, I have always used tool drawers. I separate by type instead of color, because I find it a lot easier to pick out the colors when I'm searching. (Sorry it's a mess right now. I'm running a little low on space, and need to pick up a few more containers.) Within the last few years, I've been switching over to the smaller tackle boxes, because they are more portable, and you can change the size of the compartments. Menards has had them as low as $5 on sale, but they are usually about $8-$10 during fishing season. I LOVE these things. For my minifig pieces (Torsos, heads, weapons, accessories) I have two large tackle boxes. One is for Castle, and one is for Star Wars. It's nice to have everything in one piece, and I usually don't need the minifigure pieces when I building the MOC itself. Behind these, you can see a white container on the right. This is where I store my assembled minifigs. I keep them on 48x48 plates, which fit nicely into them, and I can stack about 4 plates per container. I have no idea how many pieces I have. I only check BL orders for smaller ones or if I need a specific number of pieces for a build - and definitely with minifigs. -
What beautiful builds! both are gorgeous - my favorite parts have to be the roof on the crypt and the vines creeping up the wall on the house. The brickwork is also excellent - it looks very ramshackle. I like the framing on the house roof and the I can't wait to hear more of the story. I love finding gems like this that I've missed!

Innovative build! I also like the symmetry of the garden itself. Nice work.

You are supposed to represent your guild's colors in every build (within the lands of your guild)
