THEY CHANGED DOOKU'S HAIR!!! Son of a... The thing I was most excited for in this wave (Other than Max Reebo and Ree Yees) was the Draco hairpiece in white, and now they made an Old Man Dooku hairpiece instead. I'm sure the white Draco hairpiece was just a place holder. I hope I'm wrong, but it looks new to me....... That's a huge disappointment.

I would suggest entering in ar least a partial CH VI entry and then maybe submitting another chapter as a free build later. -

Indeed. I have little use for additional Bombur figs, but the other dwarves in UG are great! I've been using Dwarf torsos to outfit different Elven factions, Fili and Kili's hairpieces work great for Northmen/Savages, the fur traders cap, the gray samurai hairpiece, multiple beard/hair pieces...so much potential!

With all of the unique torsos and hair molds (Hobbit) that have been coming out in the LotR line, each figure is worth at least 2 of any standard castle fig IMO. Also, I don't know which pieces will be coming with the new castle sets, but some of the LotR sets have had a pretty great piece selection as well (Unexpected Gathering, Warg Attack, Helm's Deep) so I would say that LotR sets are a better value than the new castle line for me. Admittedly, I already have an enormous Lego collection, so I get much more excited about new pieces, then say light bley bricks or plates. I can see the castle sets being more valuable if you have a smaller collection and need more of the core pieces.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 10 Discussion
Rogue Angel replied to CM4Sci's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Don't they always release the info prior to the figs being in stores? And we here in the U.S. almost ALWAYS get sets released before everyone else, sometimes months in advance. Aside from the Olympic series and the Sun giveaways, we have very little to complain about (oh and Legos are cheaper for us too.) The store(s) in Hungary obviously sold them before they were supposed to.- 1,076 replies

I do agree with Death Leech that it looks like they are setting up for a big Gondor set in the third wave, I'm just hoping there is a third wave. The Corsair is a bad sign in my mind, because it may show that TLG does not feel that LotR sets will sell well enough on their own merit, so they have to appeal to Pirates fans.

I think they have hit all the big scenes except Gondor. I would expect Eowyn and the Witch King to be in one big set, and while they are big characters, I do not feel they are as integral as the fellowship. I am very happy to be getting Saruman and Elrond in the next wave, as I feel they are more important, but I would still like to see Eowyn, Faramir and the Witch King. Then I would be satisfied.

The problem with Zakon is that you never know his true intent, and even if you kill him, that doesn't matter much when you're immortal. I agree with Z that mushrooms may be Zakon's Achille's heel. -

The issue for me is that I don't want to end up with loose arms when I swap them on a torso. I've had a pretty good success rate though - maybe 5% of the torsos I changed have loose arms. That makes me feel better about it. I still hate to "break" a piece though, which is essentially what happens when an arm/torso gets too stressed and will no longer hold a tight joint. -

it took me a good month to assemble my armies for this build. I couldn't believe how long it took! This was my first time doing mass customization of arms and hands for torsos, (I always tried not to change torso arms unless absolutely necessary) and it has w it took me a good month to assemble my armies for this build. I couldn't believe how long it took! This was my first time doing mass customization of arms and hands for torsos, (I always tried not to change torso arms unless absolutely necessary) and it has worked out quite well. I am no longer afraid to experiment with torsos which has opened up a lot of possibilities. -

Dk green cloaks come in the most recent chess set and the Mirkwood Elf polybags (I think those are dark green). -

Rogue Angel replied to I Scream Clone's topic in Guilds of Historica
When the residents of Nocturnus take it upon themselves to control the Drow menace instead of negotiating and catering to them, then the Elves won't be required to take matters in to their own hands. Perhaps the current power vacuum in Nocturnus will be the perfect opportunity for a little house cleaning. -

This would be the biggest reason to occupy Nocturnus. The Elves have considered it for a long while - It would be the perfect base from which to assault the drow. -

I will be buying more figs from this series than any other. There are also 3 pieces that I will want multiple copies of as well. I wonder if some of these pieces will ever show up again in the future.- 1,076 replies

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 10 Discussion
Rogue Angel replied to CM4Sci's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I don't want this to degenerate into a back and forth argument (too late!) so these will be my last comments on it. I did say that "I" would have a harder time and "I" could find the figures that "I" wanted, but I do collect most of the army builders which are the figures that are going to be highly sought after, and so by having big pieces it helps more people to find them. I also am stating all of his as my opinion. Other people may have different techniques they use which they prefer. As I said before, with series 9 I can, in literally 2 seconds, determine if a bag has one of the 7 figures with big Pieces. This is huge whether you're collecting these figs or not! You have essentially halved your options right there. If you're looking for the roller girl, you can throw out the other 7 figures immediately. . Series 10 will not have this. Yes, you can find their weapons, but I've never found that to be a particularly efficient way of feeling for figs. Big pieces are the most efficient way of determining figs, and I'm sad S10 doesn't have many. BTW, I have 30 Elves, 20 Dwarves, Aztecs and Galaxy Patrol, 15 Forest Maidens, Valkyries and Evil Knights, 12 Cyclops, 8 Roman Soldiers and Good Knights, 6 Manbats, Roman emperors, Conquistadors, and Red riding hoods, so I have a lot of experience with feeling for CMFs- 1,076 replies

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 10 Discussion
Rogue Angel replied to CM4Sci's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I totally disagree. With series 9, I can walk in and immediately discard half the figs withou big pieces, because they aren't the figures I want. (Forest Maiden, Evil trooper, Cyclops, Good Knight) and then you just throw out the mermaids and Mechs and feel for the bow/shield with the dress. Series 8, Conquistador has armor, Diver has big helmet, bat has winged arms. Series 7, Aztec has big helmet, Space Marine has armor, Evil Knight has armor, Valkyrie has dress. Series 10 is NOT an easy series without the big pieces IMO. I'm not saying I won't be able to find what I want, it's just going to take longer. I have been spoiled by the last 3 sets.- 1,076 replies

Too bad the soldier does not come with the tricorn, as he would be MUCH easier to feel for in the bags, although there are 3 other figs I'll be army building from this series that are relatively hard to feel for (no dress, armor or large headpiece) so I'll need to determine what every figure is when I'm searching through them.- 1,076 replies

A whole hour! That's a trek! I'm spoiled with my Lego store 5 minutes away. -
I too would be against a jump forward in time. I could see a new continent or guilds, and I think that warfare would open up some options. I think that an actual warfare mechanic would be counter to the freebuild atmosphere (even though I love structured mechanics for board games and CCG/LCGs). I would prefer to see a general war between established sides (Victor's forces vs the Guilds or Nocturnus vs Mitgardia for example) which would be set and progress in chapters similar to how the Challenge storyline has progressed.

I will be attending again this year. Sad to hear Z and Big Cam won't be making it ( Z, I'm in the same boat, but I planned a bit better-7-9-13. ;) ). Awesome to see Ecc coming, and I'm hoping a lot of the EBers from last year will be able to make it back.

The discovery Centers bag systems are way too expensive IMO. I don't even bother going to the one in Chicago since they switched to bags. I believe the DCs are half owned by Lego and half by a different company.
