Shadows of Nar Eurbrikka — Introduction and Discussion
Rogue Angel replied to Brickdoctor's topic in Nar Eurbrikka Archive
I don't think there are limits on droids or ships, other than it shouldn't overstep your rank and it should match the time period - you can't own a Mon Cal Cruiser or Vong Coral Skipper or command a regiment of battle droids for example. -
SoNE Contest Episode I: Shadows of Nar Eurbrikka
Rogue Angel replied to Brickdoctor's topic in Nar Eurbrikka Archive
There are plenty of options - you can be loading civilians into your fighter (if they'll fit, bet you had a B-Wing right now ), you can be in a dogfight with TIEs over Bespin, you can be providing cover fire for a freighter loading civilians, you could be stuck in a firefight inside cloud city as you lead civilians out... plenty of options! -

Shadows of Nar Eurbrikka — Introduction and Discussion
Rogue Angel replied to Brickdoctor's topic in Nar Eurbrikka Archive
I'm guessing Nar Eurbrikka is somewhat similar to Nal Hutta (as depicted in the 2nd Han Solo trilogy, and as BrickDoctor has described) with some cities that would be similar in feel to Nar Shadda (highly urbanized and highly dangerous, I believe one of the Dark Forces games may have had a cut scene?), at a significantly reduced scale. -

Antyria is within the Guild of Avalonia, and subject to it's laws and lordship. Any attempt to secede from Avalonia will not be tolerated. -
RogueAng - Rebel Trooper RogueAng just recently enlisted in the Rebel Army, but he is no stranger to warfare, nor the Empire. He began his military career with the Army of Republic, prior to the arrival of the Clone Army and the proceeding xenophobia of the Emperor and his Empire. He served with distinction in a number of smaller conflicts in the outer rim as the Clones took the forefront in the Republics primary operations. As Clones became more prevalent, the Republic Command's mindset altered and RogueAng could see how the core troopers became utilized as expendable tools rather than sentient lives. During a particularly brutal engagement on Corellia, RogueAng realized that he could not longer in good conscience serve the Republic. He took advantage of the conflict to desert and hire on as a boarder for a Corellian Smuggler. Over the next decade, RogueAng was rarely planetside for more than a couple of days at a time. He hired on as a boarder, body guard or mechanic to numerous smuggling and mercenary cartels. He spent quite a bit of time in the Mid-Rim sectors with a 2-year stint in the Corporate Sector. While RogueAng was able to avoid the Empire and hide his true identity as a Spacer, He was not happy with the life he was leading. Eventually, RogeuAng was able to save up enough money to settle down and start his own business. He opened a vehicle repair shop on a small backworld planet in the outer rim, and lived happily for a number of years. He thought that he may be able to live out his years in obscurity, but inevitably, the Empire established a presence on his planet. He was loathe to abandon his new life, but the Imperial Commander of the newly established base had two traits that are common imperial officers - Xenophobia and greed. RogueAng was drawn into a conflict with a stormtrooper squad, and he was forced to flee. RogueAng knew that he would never be free to live his life as long as the Empire was in power, and had never seriously considered aiding the Rebels until now. He knows that they have a Jawa's chance on Hoth, but he is determined that he will no longer sacrifice his principles, and has decided to throw his lot in with the Rebellion.

REVIEW: 71002 LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 11
Rogue Angel replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Thanks for another Great review! I was overwhelmed with series 10 but I am underwhelmed by series 11, which will save me some money. I am very impressed with the Barbarian, Yeti and Tiki Warrior, as I expected. The Bavarian girl and the Scarecrow are a pleasant surprise. I am very disappointed with the distribution, but that is apparently the new trend. Thanks Whitefang!- 117 replies

Nice build! I like the overall feel of it, and I especially like the use of the brown tiles for the rotted floor. I agree with BB that some tiling would be nice, but that is my personal preference for build style.

I agree that there are not enough hinged castles being built out there. IMO, that is one of the best features that LEGO has employed in their castles. This is a beautiful build SK! I like the doors and windows, as well as the use of the technic 1x2 brick and the hinged (is it actually connected) trapdoor at the top. You've packed a ton into this build, and it is all very well detailed. Excellent work!

Avalonia Guild: Homepage, Sign-up and Discussion
Rogue Angel replied to Derfel Cadarn's topic in Guilds of Historica
With the arrival of Lord Rex and the "Flight of Dragons", the Elves could see that the Humans had a Noble and Valiant Lord who could rule the realms of Avalonia. During his reign, many of the Avalonians have shown that they have spirit, and would make good potential allies for the Elves of the Rustling Leaves Clan. With Lord Rex stepping down, it appears that Lord Varis may need to step into the forefront to lead Avalonia in Rex's absence. While they may squabble amongst themselves, the Avalonians have proven they are worthy of the protection and guidance of the Elves. -

As I said: Action Figure Licensing Rights (Lego MAY not be able to sell LotR Battlepacks due to minifigure rights owned by Hasbro, or something similar) and Lego's Marketing strategy (Lego may not feel that battlepacks or viable, or they may feel that they would take away from their sales of standard sets, or may have some other reason). The whole point is that this has been discussed in detail multiple times on this thread, so we don't need to rehash it again. Please feel free to start a new topic concerning the issue if you wish, but this is not the correct place to discuss it.

This has been discussed MANY times, and it has to do with action figure licensing rights and Lego's marketing.

I was surprised at the reise of Bilbo, but I suppose it makes sense - he did leave his Hobbit hole without even a kerchief! I too missed the snow. PJ has already prequelled the Hobbit (a-la Star Wars vs the prequels). I was incredibly dissapointed with this first movie, and I expect the remaining two movies to continue the trend of deviating from the original story to add in lame new characters and subplots.

It seems that things have calmed down a bit, but please rememember that endless debates about whether or not Lego should be producing exclusive figures, how many should be distributed and where do not belong in this topic. Lego has the right to produce whatever they want, whenever and in any quantity they like.

The Dragon mountain set is selling very well, Forest Ambush is selling decently, and the rest....not so well.

I'm guessing that the Chapter titles would fall under the copyright of the Tolkien estate, which Lego does not have. There has been an awful lot of complaining about this set, but I think that it is a solid representation of Lake Town without going overboard. Granted, there could have been a few more buildings, but this seems to capture the essence of Lake Town for it's first part in the Hobbit. It also includes all the characters we would need, Bard, the Master of the town and a Lake Town guard. 2 Guards would have been nice, but I'm just glad we got one - we should count our blessings for each generic guard or soldier we get for any LotR/Hobbit line. Also, I could easily see this as a $40 set, but I think it is comparable to Attack of the Wargs at $50. A $10 markup is not exactly uncommon any more, and the piece count has had less and less to do with the price of sets. I'm pretty sure Azog will be showing up in another set this wave, but I don't really care if I get him or not anyways. Yazneg was merely a source for parts, and the legs were the only part I've had a use for yet. I love the Hobbit, but I don't care for PJ's embellishments, so I could care less about Azog or Yazneg. I would still like to see a Radagast though.

As this is the 2013 sets thread, there will be Hobbit spoilers. Any new images of sets will be spoilers for the Hobbit. There has been speculation over the finer points of PJ's plans, which could be considered movie spoilers, but the general discussion here will involve major plot points, and it would be very hard to keep those out of this discussion. I personally think that PJ has been changing the story far too much, but that is my opinion.

I had heard that this line was at one point called "Castle Legends" by Lego. Castle purchases for me have been primarily large minifig packs for me for the past 7-8 years with the exception of MMV, Mill Attack, the Joust and the Dwarven Mine. This series will be no different, I will prob pick up 2 each of the Dragon set and Keep set, and 5-10 of the Forest Ambush set. I may get the Castle at some point, but I think the only carriage set that has ever appealed to me was the original Dragons carriage set.
