  1. Thanks you for doing this Sariel. Much appreciated.
  2. Speaking of friction, one thing that I didn't like with the black hubs from the 8070 was that there was friction on the top and bottom ball joints and it affected the side to side steering somewhat. Funny though the black ball pin doesn't have this same friction when inserted into the socket of the steering arm despite appearing to be the same size. Paul, how much friction does that center hole pin piece that you used have when the suspension is compress and decompressed?
  3. That's nothing. I know this was just a charity auction, but still http://www.ebay.com/itm/270979582067
  4. Just recently I had seen that Paul sold a custom piece built of entirely new style parts for over $700. I can't see exactly who they are because the names are hidden, but 4 different people bid over $600 and 3 bid over $700 http://www.ebay.com/itm/281035093658 I am curious if a custom piece comprised of old Technic parts would sell for as much. It just seems to be that the new wave of people getting into Technic do not care about the older stuff. Which I guess is understandable.
  5. an 8145 set MISB from 2007 is selling for more than a 8448 set MISB from 1999.
  6. Oh wow. This is a must buy. What a great year for Lego.
  7. Like you said before, they could have easily replaced old parts with updated ones. Everyone knows that the designers will rework the models anyways. Sounds like they are making excuses, just like the whole Cuusoo experiment.
  8. The quad didn't make it? I thought that was one of the better entries.
  9. The unimog seems to be the best set for the price. Lots of great stuff in that set.
  10. I like how compact that last suspension module is. That is slick using the bottom arm working against the top one with the shock. Really good design.
  11. Not sure if people know this or not, but Technicbricks' address is www.technicbricks.com now. It used to be http://technicbricks.blogspot.com/ but not anymore. Maybe you still have the old address saved as a favorite?
  12. He was very amazed that the cockpit steering wheel actually steered the wheels. I guess that is it noteworthy since Lego seemed to have strayed away from this feature in their auto models.
  13. Thanks Paul, this is a great preview of what is to come. Very nice designs.
  14. I finally got all of the new sets ordered. Looking forward to the bike even though it is simple. I love motorcycles.
  15. These sequential gearboxes absolutely fascinate me. I don't know how well they would work in a fully built car, but none the less they are an amazing demonstration of engineering.
  16. Does that hole in the middle go the entire way through? It's quite odd that Lego won't make new molds for certain Cuusoo projects because the molds cost $50,000 to $100,000 for a new part, but then you have oddball things like this that may only appear in a few sets and have very limited use.
  17. These garbage sets have been around for years and have still not made their way into the U.S. The quality is no where near as good as Lego.
  18. I am sorry, I meant to say someone from to United States employed as a Technic designer.
  19. Has there ever been a Technic designer employed by Lego? **EDIT** I meant, has there ever been someone from the U.S. employed by Lego as a Technic designer?
  20. This looks like a great set! But won't it also need those expensive molds to be made?
  21. The U.S. is all about minifigures. And I don't mean to insult my own country, but from the feedback that I have seen over the years on various forums is that most builders from the U.S. write Technic off because it is too difficult. I just don't think the U.S. has as many developed minds as the rest of the world. This can be argued, but the numbers don't lie. The top IQ in the world Rankings have Netherlands as 6th and the U.S. 20th. I think in the U.S. many people hate Technic because they just don't get it.
  22. For the past few years Lego has been releasing a "Spring" set. With the 9397 logging truck last year and the 8070 Supercar the year before. I think that Argos released both of those sets early as well, but not as early as the 42000 set. LOL. At least someone got it.
