  1. I have been thinking about building a second Vampire GT and eliminating the drivetrain/gearbox and hooking up a couple motors and a servo. I don't think it would be that difficult at all.
  2. Very Cool. Reminds me of this one from a few years back.
  3. I love the looks of this set and cannot wait to get it.
  4. Eric, do you know what country most of the Vampire GT instructions went?
  5. I don't know. Having 3 models kind of defeats the whole point of the contest. But then again, I don't think this contest was properly implemented.
  6. These are my favorite 2 cars and as a proud owner of both models, I might choose Paul's Vampire, only because it uses newer parts and packs in a few more features(Rear wheel/All Wheel drive switch, HOG steering, cool door mechanism, new type of gearbox). But car for car, I would rank these both equally. Each guy did an amazing job with their respective car, there is no doubt about that. Nathanael's car is built in a slightly more traditional Lego format than the Vampire GT. Both Chassis on the cars are superb, but as you can easily see, Paul's has more parts to make the body, which in my opinion is where the line is crossed over from what you would expect from Lego where as Nathanael's is traditional. One thing is for certain, whichever one you choose to build, you'll most definitely learn a few things.
  7. I am going to send Paul Boratko a link to this thread because he was trying to color dye light Blu gray bushings Black and he said certain technic parts would take the dye while others would not. This process involved boiling the parts in a color dye solution. I remember him saying that it appeared that different technic parts were 3 different types of ABS.
  8. Great review Sariel! So this set looks like it is going to be good for parts then? Maybe a one time build?
  9. LOL, I am sure he meant Nice car and I agree
  10. Awesome news! I hope this raises a ton of money for the Charity! It is so nice to see people doing things for children like this. Good Luck Paul! EDIT: I meant SO nice, not no nice
  11. There are a few sets out that have robot suits with a minifig at the controls, I think I even seen one in a Ninjago set, and I was referring to Legal Lego building techniques, not the use of non Lego parts.
  12. I think the top 3 voted models should make it and then the Lego team should pick the model that they feel makes the most sense and works best for them. I expect whomever's model wins will be completely redesigned anyway.
  13. Perhaps it is due to the wheelbase of the vehicle being wider then?
  14. Personally, I would much rather vote for what I liked the most or not vote at all rather than just accept defeat and join the local fanbase. In my very honest opinion, this should have been a very tight necked race between all 3 of you right up to the very end. However the 2 other models(Which are also very deserving of winning) are miles ahead. I think all 3 are equally as good, but I would have to give yours the nod for originality. Where exactly are the other 2 models being promoted at?
  15. Same here. It is funny, most people that I have talked with about these entries liked the quad bike the most, but it isn't even in the equation.
  16. What about when steering the model? He said that was when there was the most wobble in the steered wheels. He said that it wasn't bad with the smaller wheels.
  17. I must say that after following the voting over the past few days, I have to question the integrity of this competition.
  18. This is the best Cuusoo idea ever.
  19. You can always just order an extra a set of stickers from lego and keep them for the future. They are fairly inexpensive. Eric, is the wheel wobble on the built model for this as bad as the video that Paul posted? The wobble that he showed looked disappointing.
  20. There are some parts in the 42000 that I would have loved to have seen made in White again, but overall I like the color scheme of it.
  21. I guess I must be the only one who actually likes the colors on the 42000.
  22. I supported and really like Peter's Exo Suit, but I feel that it may fail primarily due to the fact that Lego is currently making those in sets and his design while awesome, isn't quite built in the standard Lego format. I still wish him luck though.
  23. Without criticism, how is anyone supposed to get feedback for future improvements/changes?
