  1. I am convinced that cuusoo is only ever going to produce small models.
  2. I have the chassis for the Porsche built, but haven't started on the body because I am waiting for a parts list. The chassis is simple in features, but solid and well thought out.
  3. ChromeBricks had them in stock, but they don't have anymore in their store right now. I bought some from them before. Their prices were reasonable too and the quality was good.
  4. I'd say that you got it pretty darn close. Blakbird/crowkillers any update on the progress with this?
  5. Wow. That is quite a collection. Paul said that has Porsche instructions in the works, so I guess that model will be next for you. (and me )
  6. http://www.ebay.com/itm/281035093658 I had been watching this in my favorites at Ebay over the past week. You know, Lego really should to consider doing something with this. I only say this because of the money that it has brought in. Paul's charity auction brought over $1,500 and now he sold a non charity auction for just a red model $750! 4 different people bid over $600 on it.
  7. I love the idea behind the sequential gearboxes, but do they really work properly? I mean for driving vehicles of this scale and weight?
  8. WOW That is so amazing!!!!!!! I agree with Dluders, I also think that you are the best Technic builder in the world. You always seem to come up with the most innovative projects that I just don't see anyone else doing. I think that it shows a great deal of class and respect when people create topics for builders.
  9. There are almost 300 of them currently on Ebay and the average price is around $125. Personally, I don't(nor could I ever) see the appeal with this set. I always thought of Minecraft just a sort of rip off of what Lego is. I hope all Cuusso projects don't go down this route.
  10. Both of the Pullback Racers are fun little sets. No, it doesn't. They are just meant to pull back and then go in a straight line.
  11. I don't have any problems paying a few dollars for instructions, in fact I feel that anyone that goes out of their way to do instructions deserves to have some form of compensation. However, if I pay for instructions, I would expect the quality of the instructions to be very good as well as the model itself. I think what is going to happen once the MOCplans takes off is that you are going to have people coming out of the woodwork looking to peddle just about anything. So I would expect some form of rating system to be in place so people don't get upset when they purchase something that is less than stellar. People have been building and selling other people's designs for quite some time now and instructions were not even involved. That is wonderful if you are so willing to share your designs as I am certain that many people will appreciate it, but not everyone is in the same position that you are. As far as the "industrial Espionage" goes, people have been doing instructions for quite some time now, and I have yet to see anyone accuse anyone else of stealing their ideas or plans. Most credible builders more than likely would never stoop so low.
  12. They're not. I expect them to say "Sorry, but unfortunately we already have a similar theme currently in production"
  13. Very good point. I have been looking over these pictures back and forth for the past 1/2 hour and I keep saying "Ok that is Sariel's idea" but this, this, this, and this are not. From a distance they look identical, but when you start digging in, they are far from it. I don't think I would label the model as a whole as "Plagiarized" but there are a few elements that are without a doubt "Borrowed" from Sariel's project. This is almost like the 10228 Haunted House debate all over again. I agree with this except for when someone is using someone's else's direct ideas or designs to profit from(or win a contest). I have seem many people use crowkillers, Skyliners, and Nathanael Kuipers instructions and build and sell a model for profit on Ebay and other sites. Nothing illegal about it, but it is morally wrong. I think there are enough differences in the topic at hand to say that this model is an "inspired" build, but not a copy.
  14. They are probably trying to figure out how to break it to everyone that they are denied.
  15. Well the wheels are exactly the same and whomever built this model most certainly had seen Sariel's model at some point. But looking deeper into the build, it does seem to be constructed much differently even though it has a similar shape. I would like to hear the author's thoughts on this build. Does anyone know if he posts here? That Peterbuilt Dump Trick that he did certainly does look nice, so I would say that the builder does have some very good skills in building, that is assuming that the truck isn't someone else's.
  16. There really are some great entries in the challenge. It's going to be interesting to see how the designers alter the winning choice to meet their criteria.
  17. Anyone know when the Dirt Bike is supposed to be released?
  18. I went through the entire studs to studless change in my years and I don't think that I would ever want to see Lego go back to the studded beams again.
  19. I would definitely say Yes, not only has Lego been releasing some amazing sets, but look at some of the models that AFOL have been producing.
  20. Yeah, that's the same exact video.
  21. Oh wow, I just made a thread about a guy Selling instructions for a Land Rover Defender that looks quite similar to Sheepo's model.
