  1. Funny, some people are paying $399 buy-it-now while others are going for much less Anyone that pays $400 for something while the same items are selling for $200 less has got to be kicking themselves. It's amazing what the SDCC stuff is bringing Completed items. Look at all of that green   You just got to laugh.
  2. So should the Batman Tumbler be considered a Model Team/Technic?
  3. The UCS Sandcrawler for example. There is no doubt Lego could have packed in whatever they wanted, but instead they went for detail.
  4. Exactly! They have no reason to care. Exclusives are created for a reason. Many toy companies make exclusive toys for the SDCC because it is such a huge event and I highly doubt that TLG is stop being a part of the Con because people are mad that they can't get exclusive figures specifically made for the convention. It would be nice if they made enough to go around so scalping prices are not so insane, but you can't ask them to stop doing the exclusives altogether.
  5. I think that you are right. This is great because I have been trying to get my hands on some of them for ages, but they are too expensive. Anyone that has a semi large quantity wants a ton of money for them. http://www.bricklink...10&searchSort=P
  6. Great looking set. Definitely no steering though. The hubs are fixed into position. Such a pity.
  7. I always thought of Model Team as models for children to build that replicated the detail of a real model similar to something that you would buy from Monogram-Revell or Testors but of course without the glue. There are and have been many hobby shop models that had simple working steering along with the opening doors, hood, etc. Maybe this is what Lego's intended purpose for them was?
  8. I assume that list is comprised of only cars that are based off of real cars?
  9. Paul, I know that you said in another thread that this model was using the new style worm gear for the doors, but is it also possible to convert to the old style since the new one has been discontinued? Or will it need redesigned?
  10. This is a must build. Are there any hard to find parts on this model?
  11. I just seen your Facebook page was updated with a few new pictures of your car with new chrome wheels and I figured that I would check this thread to see if you posted new ones here too and I see that you did. WOW they look so good on that car! How do they get the titanium color like that on the chrome? I also like the color change on the seats.
  12. I think you are selling yourself a bit short. That new car that you built is pretty amazing and on another level itself. You have no idea how tempted I am to buy those 4 black ones on bricklink to build this beauty in black.
  13. I was thinking more so of being a pain to tear the model apart to replace them.
  14. Would using 24 tooth clutch gears for the drive wear them out quickly?
  15. Really Nice. Looks just like the real thing.
  16. I really like this. Good job.
  17. Here is a great one. (Sariel) and Here (ErikLeppen) I am sure the chassis is really impressive, but the axles and hoses just are not as impressive. Some of them don't look like they connect or are bending in odd ways.
  18. Thanks for the little videos, but I still have no idea how that works.
  19. Yes, I haven't seen an update on that page for a long time. Some models are really great, but others in my opinion use way too many ribbed hoses and flexible axles. Like this one and this one. I think the overuse of ribbed hoses takes away from the creativeness of the model.
  20. True, but some of us regular builders want our models to look the way that they were intended. Lego also doesn't seem to make hard rigid flex tubing in white.
  21. Paul, I still think this model would look pretty nice in red. That shouldn't be to bad depending on how many of those number three connectors are in it. Black is definitely out of the question.
  22. Wow. Lego's version really changed compared to the original. Looks great though.
  23. Wow. Man, I really love how you got the headlamp shape. Great looking car from all angles, not too bulky and not overloaded with parts. The front reminds me of a Japanese car, but I am not sure which one. Looking forward to seeing it with the new wheels and also interested in the doors mechanism.
  24. What models in the Hall are using non Lego parts? I didn't notice any.
