I just noticed that you are using a chain to connect the steering wheel. Was there no alternative? -
Ah ok. I thought maybe you got a new girlfriend.

Is it possible that the axles could pull apart over time? I guess those thin liftarms doubled up would bite on the axle pretty good to keep them in place. Do you have a video of how the gears change? I like the idea of the shifter being closer to the ground. Makes it more realistic. -

It turned out fantastic. What is a Tyler Reid style gearbox? -
Just got the instructions, and scanned through the pages, they look great. Lot of cool new ideas. The steering arms for the doors is especially brilliant. Can't wait to start building this, most likely will do it in red due to the flex axles being out of my price range. Video looked great on the pool table! Nice masse' shot at the end. Is that your wife in it?

I wonder on average how much $ it costs someone to go to the con and get the figures. I am talking travel expenses, accommodations, etc, not to mention time invested. When you factor all of these things in, being able to sit at home and pay $200 for something actually seems reasonable.
-
Yes, the prices are crazy. I think this is largely due to the amount of them in Sheepo's Mustang. On the white model we have 19L flexible axles which are impossible to find and on the other model we have at least 8 that I count #3 connectors which are expensive.

Man, that red/yellow combo is hot. I think I like it more than the White version. I see #3 connectors though. How many?

[MOC] 1968 Ford Mustang

Was wondering the same thing. This is a good model, but I don't know if it really needed 3 threads. Wonder if there will be any new threads if it gets an upgrade? -
To let you know this thread is a waste of everyone's time and Eurobrick's bandwidth. The person that created it obviously wanted input right? Let us know when Lego starts printing nipples on their minifigs, then you'll have a better case to argue.

It's irrelevant to the majority. I would be interested in seeing the results of an actual poll as to what the number actually is of people that care about the printing on a minifigures torso. Why don't you start a poll up here and see what people actually think?

I sure do pal. But you go right on and keep complaining over irrelevance. Perhaps Lego should just do away with minifigures altogether. It sure would solve a lot of complaints from hips on minifigures to people mad because they didn't go to SDCC and get the latest Lord of the Rings exclusive.

Lego is going out of their way to appease the small group of enthusiasts who are complaining about the equality of the female minifigure and now people are complaining that they are too feminine. It's a shame The Lego group has to deal with these Greenpeace idiots causing uneeded drama, and now we have people complaining about feminine characteristics of the minifigs being too close to reality. And really, "selling sex"? C'mon people. They are just trying to differentiate between the male and female characteristics and give the people what they want.

How did Lego become a gender battleground
Meatman replied to grum64's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I think problem is that some people have way too much time to just sit around and think up ways to cause controversy when none exists or needs to. -
So then Lego did take action on people's complaints and yet that still isn't good enough? Would you guys prefer that Lego just not do the SDCC anymore so you don't feel left out? How large in your opinion is large? I certainly don't care about them, nor do my kids. I took the kids to Brickfair last week and talked to some familiar faces and the SDCC topic came up and the impression that I got was that people were not so much upset about not being able to get the con figs and sets for collecting purposes as much as it was more of a bit of jealousy over how much money people were getting for them.
-
Lego most certainly wants to create hype by releasing limited figures. They know exactly what they are doing and they are achieving their goal. IMO Writing them letters and complaining is pointless because their plan is working the way that they want it to. You don't think Lego's marketing team knows that 500 of a certain figure isn't going to be enough? They know how many minifigures they sell and what the market is like.
-
They know that it is the #1 toy, so they figure they can get some sympathy support from a small % of the millions of people that buy Lego.
