[HELP] Drift Car

Deff try gearing it up at those XL's they can take a lot more! Especially at that low weight. Use the large black gear. Good luck. You will need 2 differentials if you want the front and rear to go the same speed. -
That is bad megablocks to the core!!! So freaking cool.

Are 3rd party Tires allowed? Also what about the use of 3rd party pneumatic hoses and string? Very awesome contest!

If you don't mind making something that isn't Lego try my solution. cut a circle from an old container lid and make a hole in that and simple use like a washer. This stops the tan gear from pushing the diff away under load. Takes a bit of time sanding the washer till its the perfect thickness, but certainly helps save your diff from being chewed to pieces! haha

I just took apart 42008 and for the life of me could not take apart some of those hoses with my fingers, especially the blue ones. (My thumb nail was bending backwards) In the end I used a flat screwdriver to lever them off. This model had been on display for almost a year. Should also note, I have the yellow submarine that has been a display model its whole life (17 years) and its hoses come of easily but are permanently deformed at the ends showing they have been stretched.

WOW this is really awesome, I'm loving those wheels too. I'm really liking the black background in your pics too. -
UPDATE!!!!! Added annotations to all the spring apart from the last one as I don't have any info on it as yet. :) Hope that is helpful guys. Any other thoughts or suggestions please let me know. Cheers! Sorry I don't know any, but looks like your average double click pen might have a closly related spring that might work. Good luck! Interesting I got some very different results especially 9.5L Black spring. :) My guide is aimed at 90% compression as I don't believe you want bottomed out suspension. One of the reasons I made this guide is so if you want to know what say the 6.5L hard spring is at 50%, you can pause on the video and see. (I know its kinda hard to read the little screen but if I tilted the camera up I got heaps of reflections)

Well I'm not a bike expert, but I would recommend the large black or old dark grey one.

Hey Everyone! I had an idea to create a guide showing various shock absorbers being decompressed to help anyone trying to guess what springs to use on their Mocs if they know roughly what weight it will be. I tired to press down on each spring at around 90% without bottoming out, to give an idea of the maximum weight each one can take. All springs used are in very good condition, with the exception of the Pneumatic one which grinned a bit, but being almost 20 years old we'll let it off! Anyways I hope this is useful, let me know if you have any suggestions or can give info on the last spring which I don't have. Cheers.

Am I really banned??????? I guess you worked out my time traveling cheating system after all. Hahaha Awesome contest! Congrats to TGBDZ for winning with a fantastic entry with lots of functions! And congrats to MajklSpajkl for an awesome entry that looks just too cool. Thanks to Jim again for running it and for getting asked a million questions about the rules as usual. With regard to buggies being boring, I have had a few thoughts on the matter. I approached this contest as if the two sets I was building from were the only ones I had, just like a kid getting their first two sets for Christmas. So I asked my self with these two sets, what would I build? And the answer is a buggy, plain and simple. Buggies are cool, mostly for their playability, tearing over your bed or pushing on the floor, they offer a lot of fun. And they look great too. So that's what I did. I am very surprised that some entries didn't get more votes, especially Eagle 9394-LK Helicopter and the Ornithopter, I thought both would have been on the podium. They were the most original IMHO. Thanks for all those that voted for me, I really appreciate it. I'm very very happy and grateful to get 3rd place, I guess that's a hat-trick then???

I really like it! But have to say I think the lights and grill are a touch too narrow. But I understand its at the size that's really hard to fix. Other than that brilliant!

WOW all these are incredible, but the trailer above really got my attention! You have inspired me to try one out, thanks. Keep up the good work.
