  1. What an enchanting building! That salmon color really goes wonderfully with gray and white. I like how the seagull is biding his time on the roof.
  2. Wonderful moc! Lots of great texture and I really love the shuttered windows.
  3. A little urban renewal to transition the Detective Office part of town with the more classy modulars... my latest modular is "Chop", a small Asian fusion bistro in an Art Deco storefront. Oddly enough, I've wanted to use fish as an architectural element for a long time. 1st floor interior: Decorative wall panels. 2nd and 3rd floor feature a nice but somewhat cramped 2 bedroom aparment. Next to a couple of my other mocs. Thanks for looking! (Sorry the photography isn't great.)
  4. Art deco is such a challenging style and your design is perfect (yet again). I love the interior as well. Makes me want to go on vacation.
  5. I always hesitate to use bright colors on a modular, but you've used them to great effect here!
  6. Wow, amazing layout. Reminds me of the LEGO movie... loads of energy and humor
  7. What a kinetic design... really full of energy! I like the pallets. Really simple, but make a great detail.

    MOC: Candy Store

Thanks for all your comments! I'm glad you like it. Thanks! The pick'n'mix wall was a bit of a puzzle put together. The barrel is just full of these. Anything transparent red looks candy-like to me. :) I like the idea of making it a classy cafe! I think the it would be a great match for the exterior.... but I destroyed our old ice cream shop for parts to build this, so I added the party room to make the change to our city worthwhile to my kids. :)
  9. This is a beautifully detailed and well-proportioned model. I really love it.
  10. Wow this is packed with amazing detail. Somehow it feels both fantastical and earthy at the same time. Love your color choices. Well done!
  11. Happy Valentine's Day! Here is my latest modular MOC - a Candy Store with an upstairs party room. The design is done in the style of an 1890s iron facade. It's only two stories, but not as small as my Florist and Lawyer's Office MOCs. The first floor Candy Store interior: 2nd Floor Party Room Interior: Next to Palace Cinema for comparison: Thanks for looking!
  12. Great review! I just finished building the DO. The interior details are excellent, particularly the inside of the pool hall and detective's office. I love the working ceiling fan and the detective's cluttered desk. Overall I'm not so happy with the exterior. Realism was sacrificed for unnecessary play features. It really bothers me that the buildings are connected by a shared fire escape and a fake background building (the brown part). Feels too much like a movie set. I like the idea of smaller buildings and loved the Pet Shop/Townhouse, but the overall scale of the DO looks off to me compared to other modulars.
  13. Your display looks wonderful! We tried to do something similar in our window for Christmas, but weren't able to finish it this year. Thanks for sharing!
  14. Wonderful! I really love the way you did the Christmas trees... using the tubes from the Ice Cream Machine as garland is genius. So fun and so beautiful.
  15. Here is my entry for the Expand the Winter Village contest.... presenting the North Pole Motel. The North Pole has become a great vacation destination for visitors from other holiday lands. The set features motel sign, two cozy cabins, and a vintage car for traveling. The cabins are furnished. And here is the car with the top off. Thanks for looking!
  16. Hilarious... great scene... well executed.
  17. Wonderful! I wish this were a real set! I'd love to see it alongside Winter Village Market.
  18. Gorgeous! I love the colorful round tiled roof.
  19. Very nice! Your interiors are so perfect. I really like the large dressing room.
  20. I'm not crazy about it. It's so crowded and busy. It doesn't seem substantial. The building techniques are nothing special. The blue building is too narrow to be anything. I don't like the cartoonish POOL sign. This is the first time I've looked a modular and thought "that needs some significant modding." I do like that there is some height variation and I think that (with changes) it will fit well with my smaller moc modulars... florist and lawyer's offices.
  21. Looks great, but I think you need a lot more cars in your drive-through line! :) Oh, and where are the crossed palm trees?
  22. Nicely done! I particularly like the bike shop.
  23. Thanks! I didn't snap any but I found the kind of plastic mattered a lot. I have a couple of "rubbery" ones that I think came in minifigure packs that wouldn't grab on and hold right.
  24. Well done... this is a challenging concept to pull off and your design feels very true to both Friends and Space. Good luck in the competition!
