  1. Thanks for feedback! I'll think about that roof. I had a snack bar and tables up there, but took them down because they messed up the street view of the building. Maybe some little details like planter boxes will work? For now, at least one of the minifigs seems to be enjoying it! ;) Yes, they needed something to do. I don't have the cinema yet. Window shopping at the Grand Emporium gets old fast. Well, good marble like that shouldn't go to waste! Thanks for your other feedback. I'm thinking about how to dress up that roof now...
  2. It's museum week! My first MOC modular: OK, so it isn't exactly a proper modular since the facade is entirely part of the 1st floor. The first floor features an atrium, Ancient Egyptian gallery, and gift shop/cafe. The galleries on the 2nd floor are Ancient Rome, Medieval, Asia, and Americas. With the roof on. Skylight looks down to the atrium. A few other pics... Thanks for looking!
  3. My 9-year-old daughter got the Friends Brickmaster book and in it Mia and her friend build a raft and explore an old mine looking for buried treasure. It really fired up her imagination and reminded me of the Nancy Drew books that I loved at her age. So, I'd like to see the Friends sets introduce more intrigue and adventure over shopping opportunities. I like ideas others have said like a zoo, museum, winter sports. Other ideas might be: amusement park or county fair, observatory, theater, costume party, snorkeling. I'd even like to see the Friends world expanded and see the girls take a trip outside Heartlake.

  5. Thanks everyone!
  6. The grandmother knitting gave me one of the happy Lego moments... when you see something completely surprising and utterly delightful.
  7. I really like the humor of this one. It's a perfect juncture between Winter Village - cute and playful - and City - crime and disaster around every corner.
  8. I was at the store with my 9-year-old daughter earlier today and she felt it was very amusing that the lavender bag appears to be the "main character" of this set.
  9. I am amazed by all the great entries in this contest! I wanted to do a theater, but it quickly became apparent that an indoor theater was better suited to a modular build than the winter village. So, I went with an outdoor theater in the park. Everyone may have to retreat indoors if it starts snowing. The set includes the stage, seating, a playground, and a popcorn/snack cart. The Nutcracker is fighting the Rat King. The Christmas tree background for the stage can be easily rotated to change the setting for another play. In this case a performance of White Christmas. Backstage is playable with a costume stand and a few props. A stage hand sits above in the rigging. Here is the old-style playground with slide, teeter-totter, and merry-go-round... probably metal... cold and unpleasant in the winter. The teenage brother is spinning his little brother on the merry-go-round.
  10. Thanks for the welcome, neighbor! I'm in SoCal... Ventura area.
  11. I'm reaching for my computer keyboard over a desk covered in Legos to say "hello". I've enjoyed seeing the great MOCs and MODs on this forum and hope to contribute a few creations of my own. I'm a freelance artist/illustrator/multimedia designer by day. I've gone through several Lego phases. In high school, I was all about pirates. After college, it was the late 90s Ninjas. Now I'm into modulars, which I love.
