Very nice! They'd look great on an slightly inclined road, as many British terraced houses are on a hill. Love the mini modulars too!

Thanks for sharing - looks like a great show!

Really good use of space - looks much larger than its footprint! Like the cherry in the glass on the top floor too, nice touch.

I think price for this in 90s would've been £4.99 or so. Keep up the work on classic town reviews, really enjoying them!

Where to find cheaper LEGO City roadplates?
BricksMcgee replied to Transparency for Effect's topic in LEGO Town
Amazon is worth keeping an eye on for the occasional discounts (brickset.com has a compare tool for Amazon UK somewhere), even taking VIP points in to account Amazon usually works out cheaper IIRC.- 26 replies

Yep, PF lights are very satisfying in the HE! Just need another length of wire to get the back lights working in my PF set.

The front curvature is brilliantly done! Great model.

Had no real problems with missing pieces/booklets, but piece quality on mini figure series is getting very poor: figures I got in Lego Movie series had malformed hands and couldn't grip their accessories!

Quality of service at LEGO stores.
BricksMcgee replied to Gatthekid's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Service at my local store (Metrocentre, UK) is very mixed. Some genuinely great staff who love Lego and go out of their way to help, marred by indifferent staff who couldn't care less. I tend to order from Lego.com anyway to save me the trip! -

Very nice. Original model is taller than I'd like too, so will have to look at shortening it along those lines. Thanks for the LXF!

I missed out on one of these on eBay the other week. Seeing this has made me want to try harder to win the next auction I see for it!
-
Love this! Great use of the masonry bricks and the office area is really well done.

Lego Movie playing in Palace Cinema
BricksMcgee replied to Solscud007's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Nice, looks great! Beats the standard movie showing in the Palace Cinema! -
I've been thinking about minifig scale sheep using the ice cream piece which isn't too rare. Not come up with anything believable yet though!

So it is: works really well!

Thanks for the review. I love the F1 car and the cab, but the 8 wide trailer really put me off adding this to my collection! If it appears cheap in sales later this year I might be tempted though :)
-
Love the porch! Great build, snaillad. Makes me sad I've built over my town's "countryside" to make way for more modulars and trains ;)
-
Love the plant mini builds there: the cactus made from the seaweed piece and flowers is brilliantly simple but very effective!

Making the modular creator set 31012 family house a little bigger
BricksMcgee replied to kc2dc's topic in LEGO Town
Looks good, definitely more to scale in your city. Most importantly, does the light still work? ;) -
Thanks for the review, been thinking about this set myself and will have to buy it soon (probably for use as a trackside shed for my trains). Hotrod looks great, not so taken with the 4x4 though. Strange choice about the 1x4 bricks: 1x3 would have been more useful (given you could just use two 1x2s to replicate the 1x4) though guessing masonry pattern on the 1x3 wouldn't work/wouldn't match up with other bricks!

Brilliant. Love the use of the petal for the blood splatter!
