Brilliant work! Love the riot police!

I run 2x HEs from a single PF motor in one end (in back section of front loco with battery pack in that loco too), and it runs fine for me. Not sure if it'll make a difference on traction, but my layout uses only 9V track. HTH!

Wow, looking good Jayfield. Like the render of the red freight engine in particular!

What would be your wish? If you had one wish.
BricksMcgee replied to ust60's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Yep, I'd go for these too. Haven't brought myself to cut up some of my 9V points yet! -
Understatement of the year, looks fantastic! ;)

Would love to see that!

I'd be stressing about losing parts from 10184 Town Plan ;) -- Edit: forgot to say: great Town/City themed layout - Police/Fire HQ looks great!

MOD: Interior for 2nd & 3rd floor of 10221 Grand Emporium
BricksMcgee replied to sin's topic in LEGO Town
Nice! I've altered mine too, to include a garden and homeware section on the 1st floor (US 2nd floor) with a range of mowers from the 5891 Creator Apple Tree House from alongside other bits. I've also made the most of recent Christmas polybags and the CMF Elf figure from series 11 to create a bit of a Santa's grotto for the top floor -
Problem of part Shell 4514698 - 10243 Parisian Restaurant
BricksMcgee replied to llenroccc's topic in LEGO Town
Same here: took a while to get them to click in the right way so they stayed closed! -
I've noticed this on quite a few more recent CMFs, especially in that the leg joints are not as stiff as their City/usual Lego set counterparts. Seems to be that after a year the legs sometimes become incapable of keeping the figure standing up straight and they droop forwards or backwards. Like you say, a bit disappointing. Might be related to the fact that CMFs are manufactured in Mexico/China, if I recall correctly? Perhaps they don't have the same level of quality control for those factories?

How do you display your modular building collection?
BricksMcgee replied to yanathin's topic in LEGO Town
Like Robiwan, I keep my modulars in my town (city/modulars/trains), but am beginning to run out of space (Parisian Restaurant is the last one I have room for). Considering buying one of those Expedit shelves for the modulars, and keeping my town more classic-style Lego City, but seems a shame! -
Great work! Love the train. (Liked the RATM track in the background of the video too :p )
-
Brilliant, love the dock setting in those photos!

Like the use of dark grey chair pieces on the boat trailer on 60045 Police Patrol, and the new police station looks like a good candidate for modding in to a modular-style building for my town.

Instantly love that Octan mug. About time they had some merchandise ;) Panda costume also good (was never keen on the gingerbread man costume from series 11). Edit to avoid another post: Construction workers both good (the female one particularly: does seem a bit of a waste to have a male one in a MF series given their frequency in other sets), and motorcycle cop looks pretty cool too.

Logging lorry and car transporter stand out for me, and I quite like the look of the Octan race/sports car (bottom right). -- :D

My first MOD: 10232 Palace Cinema (non-corner building)
BricksMcgee replied to Superfunk's topic in LEGO Town
Thanks. Worth it! -
My first MOD: 10232 Palace Cinema (non-corner building)

Awesome MOD! Did you need many spare parts that weren't in the original parts list? Can see there are chairs that weren't in original and maybe a second set of stairs. -
Winter Village Sets - Rumours and Discussion
BricksMcgee replied to Gearslover01's topic in LEGO Town
Oddly, that's the only WV set that caught my eye and I've actually ordered! -
Nice loco, and the wheels look good to me. Love your layout too: about the same size I'll have available soon, and you've managed to get a lot in to it. Really should dig my monorail out...

Just curious, has Horizon Express been successful?
BricksMcgee replied to FlyerNut's topic in LEGO Train Tech
As per BCanilho, this is one of the few sets I've bought multiple times: I have 4 copies of it. Can imagine it being popular in Europe but maybe not so popular in the States though -
Purchasing Engine first then the rest..
BricksMcgee replied to pawan_it17's topic in LEGO Train Tech
As others have said, I'd get one of the train sets Lego are currently selling. They'll come with remote control, track, train and a couple of trucks. Maersk is an awesome set (I have 2) but only way to get it now is through eBay, which is pricey. -
Totally agree: nicely done!

Fantastic! I have similar plans for the future, but this has provided even more ideas :)

Discussion Topic: Should there be a 2 storey modulars series.
BricksMcgee replied to Legoofmyleg's topic in LEGO Town
"Personally, I'd buy any detailed high quality building/structure model. Making it 50-100$ cheaper doesn't influence my decision. The quality of the model does. By quality I mean - accuracy, visual appeal, challenge of building, use of interesting techniques, etc." Sums it up. Now need for a separate, specific two storey modular line!
