No, he (skaah) didn't - now it's time for you to look closer ;-) to his post (#3), he wrote: "I built the sportscar alternative to the 8458 also by Nathanael Kuipers."... this is the pure 8458 alternative C-Model of Kuipers: This car has nothing to do with the Ninja...except it is from the same builder ;-) anyway...
-
Blakbird, sorry, but i don't understand you... skaah mentioned in Post #3, that he build the sportscar and that this was i wonderful build... then i answered in post #5 to that remark that i second this (that the sportscar is a good build) but that the Ninja supercar is even way better ("...the sportscar is nothing compared to the ninja...") and now i'm lost: where shoul i look closer? what do you mean with your post #6?

... to build this "monster" of Nathanael Kuipers with over 2000 parts: with: - All Wheel drive - Full independent suspension - V12 - 6 Speed gearbox, 5+R - Functional steering wheel and HoG - Convertible roof (damped) - Dihedral synchro helix doors (damped) - Opening bonnet (manual) I have just finished it and i must say: It's no more no less than an awesome building experience of one of the best hybrid (studded + studless) models i know... Just the front axle+steering modul is an artwork (yes) of sheer geniously combining many many different and small parts from a limited parts assortment with some really unusal but genial solutions...it has one of the niftiest damped door opening mechanism i have ever seen - also the damped convertible roof is great...in addition it has one a real well done old-panels shaping: just see the smooth curve where the door goes into the air inlet chanel.... well, to make a long story short: one of the best supercars i know. This would be also a really awesome MOC if it would be build from arbitrary parts but it is only build from 8466+8458 and it uses almost all parts of them - and this is really astonishing and makes it a top notch MOC... i take my hat off to you, Sir Nathanael! Here you can see the brickshelf folder of the designer Nathanel Kuipers with many very good pictures: http://www.brickshel...ery.cgi?f=79271 There are also two short videos which demonstrate the door and roof mechanisms... The model is on rebrickable (http://rebrickable.c...hanael/supercar) where you can download pdf-instructions - they are great and it is a great fun to build - not as simple as current lego instructions.... Strong recommendation! P.S. Jim, for me this would deserve a HoF entry ;-) - because just build from two sets - and this is pure genious.

where do you live? 180$? I assume you mean a new and MISB one? used ones in very good condition (with perfect box and BI) are much cheaper...

one remark:rebrickable says that these parts are needed in addition to the 8258: apart from the pins and axles (IMO regarding these rebrickable is wrong) this is also my experience (not a big deal for me because i had all these parts in my barts bin) - first i was not sure if my second hand bought 8258 has just missed these parts but rebrickable seems to confirm this... then it would not be an 100% C-model..... BTW: only the black t-shaped beam and the 1x7 gray beam are important for the model - the latter only if you want to motorize steering... the 2x3 black plates are only for the front head lights - could be replaced by two black 2x2 plates which are remaining parts of the 8258 - same for the 2 black technic pin connectors: they are used in the openable doors and could be replaced by two remaining red ones... So, MrTekneex if you could eliminate or replace these black T-beam and one 1x7 beam then it would be a real 100% C-model...But: this changes nothing of my opinion written one posting above! Edit - here are my suggestions: 1x7 LBG beam: Replace in Step 25 (page 23) the 1x7 LBG beam with a 1x9 one (there is one remaining) --> solves the 1x7 LBG beam problem (s.a.) 3x3 black t-shaped beam: But for the 3x3 t-shaped beam i have not found a quick solution - at least at a first glance all used copies are senseful and needed or at least not replaceable by the remainings parts...

well, it's done: One remark as addition to my praising some postings above: This model would be already awesome if it would be build from arbitrary parts - but the facts - that this model is build just with parts of the 8258 set and - that this model uses quite all parts of the sets and - that is perferctly prepared to be powered by PF for driving and steering (costs about 5 minutes and a M-motor, a XL-motor and a IR receiver+sender) these facts make this model more or less incredible - i have no words for the admiration of your building skills... BTW: This is a way way better two truck than the quite boring 8285...at least in my humble opinion.... I would recommend every one to build this model, at least every one who own the 8258 set - because this model is not only another alternative, IMHO it is on par with the main model - one of the best building experciences i ever had (and i had already a lot ;-) I take my hat off to you, MrTekneex!

Max i ask you if you have Finishs grazis tow truck? -
These are both good news ;-) This braiding machine of Nico71 looks and performs awesome... IMHO you work deserves a donation - quite incredible that you offer this huge amount of high quality effort for free - many kudos to you!!
-
currently i'm building your Tow truck - most of the chassis is done (until page 260)... until now i have to say: very well designed construction, clever building techniques, superb instructions - makes a lot of fun... one of the best alternative models i know - for this discipline (designing one set alternate models) it seems as if you play in the same league as Nathanael Kuipers; and this is the highest possible praising i can give ;-) It's worth each € of the spended 95€ for the second 8258 i bought for your model... i will finish the truck over the weekend and will post a picture of the model... BTW: also very clever and well done preparation for PF

This is too good not to be a scam, right?
Kumbbl replied to bjorn77's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Just One word: scam! This would be senseless Dumping without any needs because he would sell them also for the double prize for sure... Therefore: don't do it you will regret it for sure... Just my 2ct -

i think i was quite successful last week: - 8258 crane truck complete but without box: 95€ - 42009 mobile crane in MINT condition (ie. complete and with BI and box without any damages, just onve build and then dismantled): 105€ (BTW: I think i will pass on building the 42009 (in the meantime i'm somehow bored by these function-switching gearboxes...there will be no better one than those of 8258 and 8043 - and 8480 of course ;-) and go immediately to Juergens Ultimate version ... all motors, receivers and parts should be already inhouse...) -
no worries... i have redownloaded the file... thank you for fixing but i doubt that this small error could have prevented an experienced builder from successfully building your truck ;-) it's quite obviously that there is needed an axle joiner...

I have build this spreader last year because i thought i would be a very good attachment to the 851 tractor - but in the end i was quite disappointed: the spreader is too big for the tractor, the mechanism do not work really well.. there are much better models in the 8888 book It is not too hard to build this spreader but of course it needs some try & error... I made photos of all relevant components so i could check if i can find this photos... if anybody is interested i could upload them to my brickshelf folder....
-
yes, i think so - i decided to buy another one because i do not want to dismantle the crane truck - it is a too good model - especially with all MODs of Designer Han
