  1. I can confirm that. String recommendation for Nat Kuipers Concept Car. There are full high quality BI for just 10$... Its a pure pleasure to build this car....
  2. Ooops, sorry Sheepo, i indeed overseen, that these models use the 8448 rims... well, i understand the rare+expensive-argument - on question: Am i right that these rims would allow best suspension geometry compared to the other rims of TLG? thank you - i already feared i'm the only one who doesn't think that these rims are ugly - for me they have a unique and quite good looking design especially with the low section tires of 8448...
  3. I have often read that the rims/wheels of 8448 are the best TLG has ever made concerning proper steering geometry - if this is right, then i ask myself the following question: There are so many oustanding supercar MOCs (e.g. made by crowkiller, sheepo, Juergen and some others) but no one uses these rims. Why? because they are too rare? because other needed parts do not work together with them? Can somebody please enlighten me? Thanks a lot!
  4. i have seen this too... but 1000€ is far too expensive - collecting the needed parts for this model for yourself is much cheaper... and in addition: the buyer will miss an enjoyable build... Maybe this is the model of brunojj himself? AFAIK he is a german guy ;-) Hmmm.... ;-)
  5. Alex, i very very much appreciate your efforts! which annihilator do you mean? This one? Thread: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=23930 If yes: great!
  6. what should i say? i have only 38... i feel really poor...
  7. This is exactly the question i'm interested too ;-)
  8. very impressive, both the model and the instructions - cudos to gerger and blackbird - and of course many many thanks! I'm eager to build this beauty from my two 42009 sets... But nevertheless some questions: - How practicable is gergers model? i ask cause of the suspension: Isn't it too wobly or is the whole chassis "stable" enough to slew the crane (even with extended and lifted boom) without bouncing too much? - Are the LAs (and the connected motor) able to lift this long and heavy boom without struggling too much? - if i understand you right, then the whole upperstructure is 100% from Juergen Ultimate 42009 apart from the arm which is 100% the longer version build by Alex Zeimet (afol1969) - right? subquestion: gerger, i'm not sure if you have enlarged the boom of afol1969. If yes, then the question: Would your model work also with the original boom of afol1969? - Are there electronical part lists for gergers latest version, e.g. a bsx-file which i could import in rebrickable? Same question for the longer boom? Sorry if some of my question are already answered somewhere in this long Thread - maybe an own Topic for this oustanding MOD (actually a MOC IMHO) would be justifiable, which then describe all necessary about the final version of gergers mobile crane... Thanks a lot for some hints and answers!
  9. yes, i believe all that - but my problem is, that its impossible for me to register - simply nothing happens when i press the register-button - no email is sent to me - simply no actin takes place... do not understand what i could have done wrong... EDIT: Hmm, have just tried it again - now it works... all datas the same as in my failed trys.. anyway, i will try bricksafe
  10. Anybody out there who knows what's the matter with brickshelf? it's down third time since some weeks and now already for more than 3 days... In the meanwhile it's quite unuseable... unfortunately brickstore is not an alternative for me, because it's impossible to register - no action takes place when pressing this button (at least not for me)... Which alternatives could you recommend?
  11. You can't - these BI can only be viewed within mocplans. Sure, you could make a screenshot from every page, save them all as png files and combine later all into One PDF. Work pretty well but it is a boring work. And you would lose the good zooming functionality of mocplans...
  12. Eric, thank you for this review (and of course also for making BI). Just bought them on mocplans. They Look very professional and easy to follow... One question though: i'm planning using only One lipo battery box (simply because i have just One ;-) and also just one receiver, a V2 one. Is it possible with One V2 to power simultaneously 2 XL and 1 servo? And do you think there is any Place for a second pole reverser for driving the convertible roof, e.g. Between the seats or somewhere well hidden in the rear section of the car? Thank you in advance for some hints...
  13. Just BL-ordered 8 ultra rare and expensive Red Technic, Axle and Pin Connector Angled #3 - 157.5 degrees - a German seller offered 8 of them at 0.86€ per piece... of course i ordered all 8 In addition i got a big carton with several very dusty (but otherwise in good condition) technic, bionicle and some space-theme sets for overall 60€ - includes a complete 8070 (which parts are worth alone at least > 100€ cause of some red soft axles, 6 Red Technic, Axle and Pin Connector Angled #3 - 157.5 degrees and 8 very expensive DBG steering arms... includes a 8943 Axalare Bionicle spaceship which consists of a bunch of technic liftarms, connectors and panels (just the 12 red 3x 11 curved panels are very rare)...good parts pack... was a good day...
  14. IMHO such rankings would be even more informative when "backgrounded" by your known sets (known from own building experience)...
  15. seems that for you is valid: the complex the better - IMHO a real best one has to fulfill more than just one criterium ;-)
  16. I completely agree with you - i love this model too - and i have another criterium 6: it has a very good B-model (which 8421 (BTW: i love the 8421!) misses)... This B-model is already very good out of the box but it can be quite easily made even better by adding a pneumatic driven bed (i would post a picture but unfortunately brickshelf is currently down - as quite often last week) argg - forget my posting - i have overseen your point 5.... ;-)
  17. No, that is Not true and BTW: this behavior would be nonsense. It works like follows: Squeezing the panels push a rack which drives by sOme gears the rotor. A rubberband pulls the rack (and so also the panels) back to the start position and the game starts again. During pulling back a clever free spinning mechanism is activated so the rotor does neither stop nor drive in another direction but the momentum of the rotor spinns the rotor at least as the next squeeze Drive it again... Therefore the answer to your second question is: yes, it will spin freely If the stuff would behave as you suppose i would not have called it a nifty genius mechanism ;-)
  18. In my humble opinion it's somehow a moot point seaching an exact definition of the original term Model Team - only Lego could tell what they had exactly in their mind when starting this MT production line.. But even more it's a moot point trying to find an exact threshold between Creator and MT - it's a twilight zone because Lego had always some sets which are placed on the frontier between several product lines - e.g. have a look at the wonderful Dino 4958: It is called Creator but actually it is a full ranged technic model, even with PF... Or in which bin the following set would/should be sorted? The best helicopter set Lego ever made: 4403 It is called "Creator Designer Set" - and this model is better (in all criteria) as any MT sets (maybe apart from the Black Cat truck 5571): It has the well designed and closed outer shell of a typical MT set but the internals are full of technic .. BTW: this model contains the best, most genius and niftiest rotating mechnism i know - instead of turning a knob or crank the rotor is driven by squeezing two panels and so it has the maximum playability because you can simultaniously swooshing around and spinning the rotor-blades - with ONE hand! IMHO this set is what a modern Model team line should be... regardsless what the old outdated MT line has meant to be...and therefore the current MT contest is very well defined by Jim Just my 2ct...
  19. today the flashing beacons arrived i ordered by EB member Zmei_gorini4 (Kirill) - they work perfectly and look very good - IMHO they are worth the price...good job, Kirill! For the motherbord of the beacons and for all cables running from left to right or vice versa i have made a simple casing at the roof: Just a second DBG 9L liftarm mounted on the roof panel (the first one is already needed for fixing the accu), then wiring all cables between the two 9L liftarms and then fixing them by some thin 5L DBG liftarms which are mounted on the both 9L liftarms... cause of the very neutral color DBG this casing is quite invisible from outside... EDIT: replacey pictures from brickshelf by bricksave
  20. well, yesterday i had two lessons learned: 1. There are no better test-persons than children if want to know if your model/mechanism really works - works under all circumstances ;-) 2. bracing bracing bracing Endless slewing the crane is not possible with current construction where all tubings are guided through the turntable because they will twist... but one complete turn around should be possible, 180 degree in one direction, 180 in the other... Well, with the pass-through above these things get slightly worse because the pass-through gearbox further reduces the available room for the tubings below the turntable so slewing becomes a little bit harder after about 120 degree... The problem is not the motor power, it is strong enough, the problem is, that from that point on the restistance of the slewing is stronger than the pins which fix the two t-pieces on to the grey frame, the two t-pieces which bears the axle with the worm gear...so after ~ 120 degree slewing the worm gear does not slew the turntable but (cause of less restistance) moves itselfs and this power is strong enough to push the t-pieces from its pins... and if you have a look at the picture above, it is obvious why: because the t-pieces are not braces against this horizontal forces...we need somethings which prevents the black t-pieces (and of course also the axle itself) from moving ... well, after recognizing the problem finding a solution was quite easy: 1. it is necessary to prevent the axle itself from moving: this has been done by replacing the original axle with a 8L with stop and the stop is on the right side between the t-piece and the 4x2 liftarm - the latter one prevents the axle from moving to the right and the stop axle itself prevents itself from moving to the left - fine 2. Now the outermost liftarms (on the left side the 4x2 liftarm which replaces now the t-piece on this side, on the right side the additional 4x2 liftarm) have to be braced so that they can not move outward --> a simple 11L black liftarm is perfect suited for this... Now the worm gear has no chance anymore to move on its axis and therefore it MUST slew the turntable and the whole stuff works as well as with the original slewing construction... Lessons learned: always brace your gear-trains all will work as intended ;-) EDIT: replaced all links and pictures from brickshelf by bricksave
  21. even not being Stefan, i will point you nevertheless to my posting where i have described in detail (and with a link to even more detail pics on brickshelf) the 3-side tilting bed: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=57543&st=1675#entry1939279 Maybe it helps you a little bit until Stefan can answer...double pump is very easy to built - just have a close look at the posting mentioned above ;-)
  22. I would like to vote for this pure mechanical brick sorting excavator for the HoF: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=77564 One of the coolest MOC and one of the most genius and clever mechanism i have ever seen...and its so cool - it is from this guy: http://www.truedimensions.com/lego/ IMHO Technic at its best What do you think?
  23. Hi all, sorry for a somehow dump question and also sorry for maybe posting in wrong forum but at a first glance i haven't found any better suited... my problem: i try to register at bricksafe.com but no action takes place if i press the register button... anybody out there who had similar problems? many thanks in advance
