  1. That's really nice. I have eight of those wheels but they have not been used much so i might just build a six wheel version of your "mini" big foot. Thanks for the inspiration. H
  2. If I pull this off it will be only the second time I have bought a set on the day it is released. The first being last year when I bought the Volvo 42053. At least for those who don't like 42070 we have 42069. if both sets were not upto our expectations we'd all be in trouble. H
  3. Your latest images are great. I notice your outrigger set up is similar, if not identical, to 42070. It looks good on your truck. How stable is it when lifting? H
  4. Good review but there is nothing "weird" about this set. Don't think adding wheels would make it better either. It's something different than the usual big car. I was not sure about this set when i first saw the images, but over time as I looked again and again I could see more about it I liked. For me it looks good, I like the colours (I wont be using the stickers), love the functions having seen them now and the doors are sick! It provides me with some great parts for the collection. The purple wheel arches, some grey panels, lots of pulley wheels etc etc. I'm dribbling thinking about it. I might actually camp outside the lego store on the night of the 31st July. H
  5. I commented on SarieIs review earlier, but for this I voted above average. I voted that way becuase it's a big beast, it has remote control and I love the outriggers set up. As I said before, lovers of big trucks will buy it for themselves or their children. I will repeat myself. This is a crane truck! Having read this great review, in my opinion, a spare tyre, a front winch and suspension should be in the set. The super structure/boom arm should be much more usable and have pulley wheels and a decent hook. I have one of the steel hooks from years ago that you can put a pulley wheel in. In total I have three (or four) different lego hooks. I really look forward to seeing someone improve this set. its 42069 for me or bust! The B model makes no sense. PS: Jim, anyway these reviews could remain at the top of the topics whilst we debate them? They do move down as new topics are added and it would save having to search for them. Thanks H
  6. i'm almost tempted to buy it and make it better (not read your review yet, Jim). H
  7. Great review of the 42070. Nice to see the functions in action. Interesting to see what you got for your money but for me there are more negatives than I originally thought. This is a crane truck, not a tow truck, and the crane is dissapointing in looks. It looks flimsy, though I accept having seen the review it can lift a certain amount. That blue colour is not on my list of lego colours I want in my collection. No servo for steering, no suspension, no lights and only one large LA. I love the outriggers, they have done a great job on them but the whole truck looks empty and incomplete. I'm sure lovers of big trucks will buy this and it might be a good starter set for those entering into technic as they can mod it. its 42069 for me (or bust!) H
  8. Loved the video for 42069. I dont buy lego for birthday or christmas anymore so I can get this one though i have a personal target to hit first. The B model is brilliant. I might actually make it. H
  9. A hook lift dumper on the scale of the Arocs 42043. H
  10. just voted again and it said "thank you for your vote". Will be back later
  11. Great porsche! When I saw it I wondered where you got those colours. It's a shame you had to paint the parts, but if thats what you wanted to do to create the model you want then its upto you. Its your lego. I do love it. H
  12. I voted 1 it seemed to accept it
  13. That steering is clever but why did you use it over conventional methods? Love the model though. The yellow works and I love the front and the suspension. H
  14. I look forward to reading what those who own the set have to say. I never bought the set as I could not justify the spend. I'm working on a non lego project and had I acheived a milestone then maybe I would have not payed the energy bill and bought 42056. Also there were some family issues going on, 2016 was a tough year. I never had any expectations of the set, I never do. I expect what I see on the box and read about on this forum but mainly I think of what I can do with the extra parts. The body work and wheels would be new parts to me. If i'd had the money easily to spare I would have had it because its lego and I love lego. H
  15. Note to self: Find a way to justify the cost of 42069. H
  16. Nice. Good video, it performs well. H
  17. Now i've seen 42070 in action i'm tempted. Whereas i'm thinking 42068 should be in the scale of 42070. H
  18. I suspect engine will be at the rear. I like the middle section with the gearbox but not sure about the wheels on this one. Look forward to progress. H
  19. Love this bike. So clean and does not need stickers. Good use of panels and great photo's. H
  20. Very nice work. I'm sure you can find a way. having two switches at either side of the truck or some switching close to roof. Those are the same issues I face all the time but practice makes perfect. H
