  1. Very much disappointed by the look of the logos... :( The minifigs look really good and the colour scheme too! The shields are pretty, apart from the ugly lion... The sets don't seem particularly bad. Not worse than other castles IMO. For kids it is as good as anything x) Those big things are really good for kids. They allow them to build large castles. And the king has a golden sword! :D
  2. Eh will you add me too? I'm in Mitgardia (or at least I think so; I signed up in the Mitgardia thread but maybe there is some more formal procedure?) If not then here's my character's name: "Sigólfr Brímabani", he resides in his clan's fortress on the slopes of Mt. Mitgard (where also my brother Erikur's character "Arngrímr Sigmundarsonr" lives).
  3. Yeah you're right, he looks a little bit like the one who, because they had run out of all the good helmets, got the old spare helmet that had been lying around for a long time... I think though that I'll give him some different arms and a falcon shield from the Kingdom's Joust set :D
  4. I find the 5929-1 set Knight and Castle Building Set very good. You get 144 pieces including a knight with a torso without heraldic symbols, and is double printed both on head and torso. You get a sword and a grey helmet. No shield though. The parts are nice too. Check it out. It should be pretty cheap too. I got one today. It is a cute little thing x) Maybe not one of THE best. But I got a cheap knight and some useful bricks :D
  5. 10223 - Kingdom's Joust 5929-1 - Knight and Castle Building Set
  6. :0 I didn't know that :'( Well well, I might as well buy it for 990 since it would probably be about the same price to get it delivered anyways :)
  7. The review is good, but it is a horrible set... Even for the time (I do love 90's castle lego, but I am careful not to mix old with new parts. I like new castle sets much more than old ones, although Fright Knights might be my favourite series...) :) I only have a few Dragon Master knights however, since that was before my time (I was born in '93).
  8. I have no idea how the sets sell here in Sweden... And even if they were selling like crazy here, it wouldn't influence much on the overall sales statistics, since we're such a small country... But I presume that it is not really as popular as regular sets, due to it being a licensed set that is not Star Wars and it is more "realistic" than regular sets, so kids might not want them, and parents might think it is too scary for kids what with the Uruk-Hai and Orcs. PotC didn't seem to go well either (I bought nothing from it because of the prices). All I know is that I love the LotR sets. I and my brother have every set except Shelob, and bought Helm's Deep twice. The Hobbit sets are even more expensvie than LotR so we only have Goblin King Battle and Spiders of Mirkwood. And also, I don't think I've ever seen a series of LEGO "sell out" like that here in Sweden X) Sure the stocks run out and so, but it takes a while for the shops to sell off what they have.
  9. This set is for sale (25% off I guess) near me... I and my brother bought it full price (1290 SEK) a month ago D: Now I don't know if I should get one more, since I'm planning on buying the Monster Fighters Vampyre Castle. But I also want Attack of the Wargs. But you know, I'm not made of money... :/ But 1575 parts for 990 SEK... You don't see that very often...
  10. Thanks :) Those shields work well too, since they have yellow and green (plus red, which is the inofficial colour of the clan).
  11. Oh, du bist deutscher? :D Ich spreche auch Deutsch. Hab es in der Schule gelernt :3
  12. The story is really good! :D Keep writing on it and I will be interested in reading more ^^ What is your first language? edit: I would also like to see more mocs x) Western stuff is awesome :)
  13. I bought Goblin King Battle yesterday. But I did not apply all stickers... What say you of the stickers? :/ Also I've been thinking of getting the Vampyre Castle for parts. Is it worth it? There is a place which by Swedish standards has an extremely good price.
  14. Haha maybe x) Kaliphlin would be impossible though. We don't have much beige bricks :/ Nocturnus could have worked (they have a more gothic style, right?) xD
  15. Maybe x) But we can't let the North down :/
  16. Thanks :) We already built a giant dragon skull to put above the gate to our fortress x) The head of the primordial dragon... Or wyrm... :)
  17. There'll be green arms next time :) Although I hate green ;___; Why has Mitgardia so tasteless colours? x) Blue and yellow would be the best, or red and gold :0 Nåja... Will see if we can get ahold of a green flag sometime. We will try to build our fortress/forge/mine later.
  18. @DaMaximus: Oh... Well the "Jarl's kin" I refer to is one of the three "races" (Jarl, karl and thrall) x) So it is not supposed to be related to the Jarl really... But I'm sorry for using the same words but for different things x) We haven't read much of the lore here and didn't know there was another dragon clan... Hmm, I guess there might be more dragons? Otherwise we'll change name to the Wyrm Clan or so... :)
  19. No it is not. We are brothers, and his guy has different torso, head, shield, helm and is left handed. Thanks for the welcome, by the way x) I hope my brother's character is also welcome when the misunderstanding is sorted out. :)
  20. Sigólfr Brímabani (Victorious Wolf, Bane of Brími) of the Wyrm Clan of Mt. Mitgard would like to join forces with the honourable Mitgardia guild. I'm sorry for having no flag with the Guild's colours, due to the complete absence of green flags... Could dark green + gold do? The Wyrm Clan is of pure Jarl's kin, of the stock of the god Kaimadalþaz (þ = th as in thing) who created men. (I don't know if mythology is allowed...). The Wyrm Clan is a clan of dragon slayers, dragon tamers and smiths. They forge their weaponry out of meteorite steel, heated by dragon fire. This steel is highly sought after for its exceptional quality. Their abode is in Mt. Mitgard (if that is allowed), which is a volcano (?). Sigólfr is one of the sons of chieftain Sigmundr. They also have a powerful wizard and seiðmaðr (ð = th as in this) called Grímr (The Masked One). They are mostly merchants and metalworking craftsmen who are famous for their ironworks. They would gladly provide the forces of Mitgardia with swords, axes and spears, and such weaponry as is needed. They also protect "Bjargsins Hjarta", the Heart of the Mountain, which they regard as sacred.
  21. I sure hope they'll be good for parts anyway. And since it is not a licensed theme the prices might be good even in Sweden :D And don't you just hate when you write å, ä or ö instead of p, ' and so... :S
  22. How strange... Maybe the other places count every part of the minifigs and bricklink does not... Since it is 8 figs the parts of them might be that difference there.
  23. Is it really 795 pieces? I've read elsewhere that it is 841 pieces :0 841 or 795 is almost a 50 pieces difference. I've almost made up my mind to buy this and Attack of the Wargs (despite its bad price per piece ratio)...
  24. Isn't the torso piece of Worriz or whatever his name is also a bit too much to the left? Or well... right, from his perspective...
  25. You just gave me a good idea for a MOC. The sad part is that I don't have bricks enough for it x)
