  1. Official release trailer: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1BXbBykwKD/
  2. The end of an era.
  3. The reaction to this on the other social platforms has been interesting. If you don't love it, you get hit with lecturing comments about supporting the brand/products. Personally, I just don't see the appeal of this set and don't mind people passing on it in favor of the many other Trains releases that are on the market. Money isn't an unlimited commodity.
  4. After so many years of steam locomotives featuring large driving wheels, it's sort of strange to see a set regressing to the MOT 9V era with diesel-style bogies. LEGO has been on a roll with their recent train-related releases. I think this is their first miss in a while.
  5. The Enterprise D saucer section is 100% an oval. The set captures the shape of the Galaxy-class nearly perfectly. --- I think the design of the set looks fantastic. I wouldn't have minded some more window decal sheets, but I can already hear the potential moaning if LEGO had decided to add some large sticker sheets. This looks to be a great, large-scale model without being un-displayable. An aftermarket lighting kit will be a must-have for sure. Ever since I was a kid, I've wanted a Star Trek LEGO set. (I spent way too much time building digital MOCs in LDD for uploading to the LEGO Universe Creation Lab...) No way I'm missing this release - a day one purchase.
  6. ATSF diesel locomotive coming in Series 8! https://www.bricklink.com/v3/designer-program/series-8/2739/Brick-Railroad-Locomotive
  7. A good number of Trains submissions in this next round - up for voting now: https://www.bricklink.com/v3/designer-program/series-7/main.page
  8. A little more than halfway to a sell-out. Steady sales. Not as strong as the Castle-related stuff, but shows that there is still a passionate Trains related fan-base - albeit, a smaller one. https://www.bricklink.com/v3/designer-program/series-4/1184/Wild-West-Train
  9. Less than a week to go until crowdfunding opens for the Wild West Train! Pre-ordering starts on February 4th, 2025 at 8 AM Pacific time
  10. Updated with the official render of the Old West Train. Another good year shaping up for Trains fans!
  11. It's possible. I think the main hiccup would be that LEGO has pushed 'modern/green' tech for their City line and would bristle at inserting a steam locomotive and historic cars into the theme. (One can hope though!)
  12. The piece count is lining up with the Arctic Express being an actual train. Themed train sets (Police, Fire, Military, etc.) have been a thing for a long time in model railroading and its kind of surprisingly that LEGO has taken so long to jump on the band wagon.
  13. I am confident that LEGO's bottom line is not greatly affected by the sales of the Trains theme.
  14. New submission guidelines. New rules also ban modular-style buildings, so the Brick Cross station slipped in just in time. "Avoid highlighting fossil fuels like coal, oil, and gas (e.g. depicting refineries, fuel storage or gas stations). It’s acceptable to showcase historical methods of transportation that rely on fossil fuels (e.g. steam locomotives). Modern vehicles need to adhere to this guideline, therefore the propulsion method should be ambiguous if it is not a sustainable power source."
  15. Has anyone integrated the new train shed into their layout yet?
  16. The overall Cup car design looks good, but I can't get over how small the roof and door numbers are. Fingers crossed for a third-party sticker pack.
  17. Crowdfunding for the next round of BDP sets starts in less than 24 hours! https://www.bricklink.com/v3/designer-program/series-2/main.page
  18. The Next Gen Cup Car is a must-have for me. It might end up being a William Byron/Hendrick Motorsports tie-in.
  19. A reminder that we are under four days to go until crowdfunding opens for the next round!
  20. Official renders and pricing released for the next wave. The Brickcross Station is a must have for me. https://www.bricklink.com/v3/designer-program/series-2/main.page
  21. It's great to see more Trains representation in the latest wave! I was pulling for some of the others over the western train, but I do understand why this could be a hot seller.
  22. The 0-6-0 is a gorgeous model. If I could pick just one... that would be it.
  23. Crowdfunding for Series 1 begins in less than two days. Series 4 sets up for voting now with lots of Trains related submissions.
  24. Two weeks to go before crowdfunding begins on Series 1!

Bricklink page: https://www.bricklink.com/v3/designer-program/series-4/1184/Wild-West-Train With the possibility of at least three Trains-related sets through the BL Designer Program, I figured it deserved its own discussion thread! 2024 is shaping up to be a good year for ever-patient Trains fans. --- Series 5 and Series 6 contain no accepted Trains-related sets.
