Well, nothing as of yet. It does appear to be delayed.
-
Same. The worst part of it for me is that I was really hoping to time the purchase of the Orient Express with the Majisto GWP.
-
I can't say I am not disappointed. This was the single big set I was looking forward to purchasing this year.
-
Promobricks believes the photos will release in October.

With the announcement of the Bricklink Designer Program Series 2 results, there are now THREE Trains sets heading to crowdfunding next year! https://www.bricklink.com/v3/designer-program/series-2/main.page --- This upcoming year may be the best for Trains fans since the My Own Train/Santa Fe era!!!

We have to be getting close. If the November 1st release is true, possibly next month?
-
Good catch. Changed.
-
I am still curious as to what happened to that set. It just seemed to vanish with nothing else taking its place.

Your prediction should prove to be spot on! LOL

Thoughts on when we should see the first pics of this? Sometime in September?
-
That is how I read into it as well, but obviously, there wasn't much he could convey. Once it is all released, I am hoping he is open to doing interviews and such. Getting a Trains themed Ideas set through the pipeline felt like, well, a pipe dream over the past years.
-
I was curious how the process with the fan designer worked after the set was approved. I asked him, and he said that he did work with LEGO through the finalization process and there should be some surprises in the final set design, but obviously couldn't say more. I've been wondering what that could mean... New rod pieces? New larger drive wheels?
-
I've been 'saving' for this set since I missed out on the Emerald Night back in 2009, I'm willing to give LEGO the benefit of the doubt to some extent while we await the actual release photos.
-
Same here. If you count the two Bricklink sets (Studgate and The Old Engine Shed) we are getting more AFOL Train sets than ever before. A pleasant surprise. Agreed on the piece count. My gut feeling is that we are getting something in line with the Crocodile locomotive when it comes to scale.
-
Oh wow. This is fantastic! A gorgeous modification.
-
I'm 100% willing to hold full judgment until I see the actual set, but I see what you're saying. ... I was thinking the other day that this will really be the only other set directly comparable to the Emerald Night - it's been a while since that one has been on shelves!

LEGO Orient Express Set number: 21344 Designation: Orient Express Theme: Ideas Number of parts: 2540 Minifigures: ? Release date: November 1, 2023 RRP: €299.99 Fan-designer: LEt'sGO/Thomas Lajon Primary information via Promobricks details subject to change Original Ideas submission page: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/568ee861-3b62-413a-9432-ce1d3a98c61a Promobricks article: https://www.promobricks.de/lego-orient-express-erste-infos/162305/ LEGO.com listing: https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/the-orient-express-train-21344 --- With this being the biggest LEGO Train release in years, I thought this upcoming set deserved its own central thread. I'm looking forward to November December!
-
The reduction in piece count gives some hope that they've scaled this down a bit for track compatibility. 300 euros is awfully steep, especially when you consider the crocodile locomotive with 1300 parts was under 100.
-
I am very much looking forward to seeing how people mod this. Edit: I've seen a mod where the builder added siderods and moved the cylinders up just a bit. It looks great! If the boiler could be dropped lower by a plate and the whole thing extended by a few studs, it would be near perfect in the 6-wide scale.
-
Congrats on getting this approved!
-
The Old Train Engine Shed has just been announced as a Bricklink Designer set. AFOL Trains are on a bit of a roll this season!

New LEGO Speed Champions 2023 Rumors, Speculation
RedBrick1 replied to MTBingNinja's topic in LEGO Town
Did we ever figure out what the potential canceled licensed Speed Champions set was from 2022? -
The main issues I have with it are in regards to the lack of side rods and it being slightly too short. Both of these things should be easy to mod. I am looking forward to seeing how Trains modders approach this.
-
The locomotive itself is the closest LEGO has gotten so far. (If you discount the non-track compatible display model recently released.) The length is OK, and the tender looks appropriate. No running gear, but that should be a decently easy fix. The coaches look eh, but I am wondering if combining them into a single car would be a good option. The station is surprising and looks quite good. I can see easy expansion or modification.

Any more rumors regarding the Hogwarts Express or Orient Express sets?
