Very nice! That micro city looks great and love how the red colours stand out from the build, because you didn't use any other bright ones (like dark green and olive instead of normal green) .
-
Thank you I agree. We should do that more often. Also, I think techniques aren't as important as aesthetics. I rather want a build that pleases my eyes, than one with some nice techniques in it. It doesn't even need a single part SNOT in it, as long as it looks good .

Good start! There's already a good amount of details in it . As for advice, try to add some more plants on the ground if you have any left. Brick on!

Age of Mitgardia - Stables Phase 2 - Muninn Ranch
Simon_S replied to mccoyed's topic in Guilds of Historica
It's so cool to see more builds with Chobos involved. I'm looking forward to phase 3! -
Thanks mate . Thank you for the feedback. It's clear that not everybody likes this style, I'm also not 100% convinced by it. But I wanted to start making my builds more unique and this was one possible way that came in my head .

Thanks narbilu! Thanks a lot Legonardo for this kind comment. I'm looking forward what you'll do with the purple tiles . Thanks mate . Thank you Carson! Thanks Mr Greeble .

Amazing build! As I already said on Flickr, this is my favourite pirate themed build of you!
-
Nice one! Who doesn't want to use a mill for squeezing grapes? Also, the dark brown carrottes are a nice touch . Funny details like this can make a build a lot better. I agree with mrcp6d, tiles would have been better. Like you've done it now it looks more than sausages to me, than wine .

So simple, but so perfect. That compass is very nice.

That pyramid looks very good Grant! I just love all the details you put in there. I think it could use some more palms around it, now it looks somewhat empty ;-).

The Breached Wall-'My first EB Topic :)
Simon_S replied to Ranger_Elegost's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Welcome to Eurobricks! That MOC looks great, I especially like the colour change from lbg to dbg, which is very nicely done. Together with the Uruk hai, the black ladders and the black editing around the picture give a good overall colour composition. I also want to offer you one advice: don't put the title of the MOC right there in the middle, this picture would look so much better without it. I would do it somewhat smaller and put it in a corner or just leave it straight away ;-). -
Hiking a Mountain Path (built by my little bro)
Simon_S replied to soccerkid6's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Your brother has quite some talent, it seems like he had a great teacher . -
Good job Jonas! I like all the details on the ground and the lighthouse itself also looks great.

Thanks Damaximus. Thank you . Thanks Jorrith . Thanks mate. . Thanks

Thank you. Saidly I can't tell you that there's a specific technique for this, I just experimented a little bit. Most of the helmets and amors are fixed with 1x1 round bricks on headlight bricks or 1x2 plates. The yellow part and the roof rest on a pillar in the middle of the house, so that the wall doesn't have to last the weight of the it. I hope that somehow made sense . Thanks mate . I think we need more special coloured Castle builds, they are so much fun to do. Thanks Gunman! Thank you Torgar . Thanks mate. I also like the armor wall the most, it's also the part on which I worked the most time. If you combine the yellow/orange part with usual colours it could actually be part of a town without looking cartoonish. Thanks Infernum! Thank you Behemoth . Thanks man . The armor wall was mostly inspired by the iron throne from GoT, but why only have a boring chair made out of swords if you can have a whole house made out of them? Also you just inspired me to make the next house out of minifigs . Thanks Gideon. It's actually quite different from LD's style (althought it was also inspired by it, of course), but the walls aren't angled, only the tiles and one corner post. The shape of the roof was also inspired by him. Thanks mate . Yeah, I just was too lazy to write a backstory for this one. Thanks Jonas. I like to try out stuff that hasn't been done before, it just makes a build so unique and better, even if the technique isn't perfected yet. Thanks Josh! Thank you cesbrick . Thanks. I don't have a problem with this one, as all major parts are fixed. there is only small stuff (like minifigure arms, swords, etc.) loose or held by friction. I think it's already more a technique than laying trans blue studs on the ground to represent water. Thank you .

People often tell he's a maniac man and they try to evade him. So, as Lord of Nalderic, Simon had to visit him to see if he's a danger to other people... I got another PaB cup from my sister who went to UK and got there many cool parts for me, for example those 1x2 purple tiles. It was also an experiment with the armor wall (which is very unstable) and using more fancy colours in medieval builds. Thanks for visiting!

So nice! I love how you used the cannon and the large figure armor pieces. I also tried to use some of them in my Battle Bambi, but in the end I prefferd the brickbuilt version.

I have to look if I can make it, it's right during my military service, but on the weekend you usually have free. So maybe I can come, but if I can I won't be able to bring a big castle. However, I would love to meet some of you guys. -
Welcome to Eurobricks! That looks quite good for a first build. As advice, I think you should reduce the black border to a minimum. Of course, if there are other colours in the rock and under the foilage, then you'll need it, but keep the border as small as possible. I also suggest adding some leaves on the tree and use more foilage on the ground, this will improve it a lot.

Thanks Gabe. I also didn't know how to do them, so I looked at real deers and this was the solution which fitted the proportions still the best. Thanks . Thanks Jason! The legs aren't really stable, but they're still better than the antlers. Photographing the MOC wasn't a problem because of stabilty, but I wouldn't want to take it to a convention. Thanks

Book II - Avalonia: Guild sign-up and Discussion

@Slobey: That is one great first MOC for the guilds. Absolutely lovely ship! @TheRedViper: Welcome to the best guild in Historica . I'm looking forward to your builds. -
Haha, thank you . Thanks Gunman! Thank you! Thanks mate . Thank you Scaevola. I also like the look of them, but I don't like how fraglie they are . Thank you, the legs were the most difficult part, so I'm happy you like them. You really think it's "a little lofty"? I mean, it's still Simon of Nalderic, the bravest warrior in Historica . Thank you. Thanks mate. Yeah, it would be cool to build a whole army of them. Thanks LV! Thanks ME. Also, thanks for the idea . Thank you. I think it's actually my first build that made it to there. Yeehaw! Haha, I also haven't seen it before. Thanks. Of course I could, but wolves are too stereotypic for mounts and they fit better in Mitgardia than Avalonia... You should definitely come here more often. It's great and you improve your building skills so fast. Yes, I totally agree. Thanks mate! Thanks mate
