Thank you. It's actually the first time I put a Friends element really in a normal themed build and I think it fits well . Thank you! Thanks . Yes, falling troops makes everything better, so why don't put some in there ? I hope to build more pirate builds in the future, I really enjoyed it.

You know, Mitgardians might have wolves, bulls or chobos to ride on, Kaliphlinites have their armadillos, Nocturnus their worms and snakes, but we in Avalonia have our... Big Battle Bambi The Big Battle Bambi is related to the usual deer, and is only found rarely in the avalonian forests. The difference: it's way larger than the other ones. Simon of Nalderic, the bravest of all Avalonians (which is again the bravest folk in historica, so he basically is also the bravest man of all people in historica) managed to capture and train one. Now he rides on it and with its help he will seize the lordship over the whole world! I hope you like it and thanks for looking . Simon

I just did jumped into the pirates theme recently and saidly missed the first PotC sets, so I'm very excited... hopefully TLG will make some great sets! And then, Christoph Waltz in PotC ? I loved his part in Inglorious Bastards and also in Django. If he does the same good job as usual, this movie will become great.

I like the rockwork and the small path going up there. Great work mate! Good luck in the contest!

[pid][/pid] 256A Hey guys I'm mostly a Castle builder and I'm very active in the Guilds of Historica forum too. However, the Jolly Roger Contest 3.5 over at forbiddencove.com inspired me to finally jump into the pirate theme. I have done a build before, for the team building contest (with Soccerkid), but it was a fort and so completely different from this. Here I present you: Battle for the Fountain of Youth Thanks for viewing! Simon

Book II - Mitgardia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Simon_S replied to Ecclesiastes's topic in Guilds of Historica
I'm so excited to get this figure, I just love everything about it. and it's fully usable with fleshies . -
They were from book 1 (that's why I still got one with mitgardian colours). if you participed in 1-3 challenges you got the one with the silver frames, for more than 3 the golden one . I hope that there's going to be something similar for book 2, that would be awesome.

Awesome work mate ! I love everything in this MOC, it must be the best one I've seen for a long time. All the details and angles just look perfect and the blue roof also gives the build something very unique we haven't seen before. Csongrats on the first place!

Try to set your exposure/brightness a little bit higher on your camera. I have no idea how well that works on your phone, so if it doesn't, just use more/brighter lights. The sharpness of the pictures looks enough good (could only be improved by a better camera or a stand/tripod if you don't use one yet). So the photography you have showed in the OP isn't bad, but it also isn't very good. Editing it on the computer would be the easiest way to improve it a lot .
-
I like the idea, so if we start something, count me in .

Good start. You did a good job on it. Is it your first MOC? As an adive, I think you should add more smaller green plates and plants, so that the landscape doesn't look as blocky. Also, as I've already said on Flickr, you should try to take better photos of your builds. Take white papers for the background and put your camera on a tripod or on another stand (which can be very improvised, made out of books or something else you can find).

Thanks Torgar! Thanks Gabe , at least Switzerland made it to the last sixteen . Thanks mate. As you may have noted, the build isn't the same qualitiy as usual and the photos aren't that crispy (I didn't have my good camera available), but I just wanted to post it as fast as possible. Thanks robuko! Building and placing the crowd took probably more time than doing the rest of the build, so I'm glad you like it. Thanks for the kind comment ME. So I look forward to see you in the next World Cup . Yeah, somehow sad that the Portugeses didn't make it. Go Switzerland! Thanks mate! Mikey B has to wear a helmet, while Gideon plays in an armor . Thanks, but I think that I started this tradition. Back when I used yellow minifigs, I had a female torso under the hula skirt, the sword holder and the knife. You actually couldn't see well that it was a woman torso. Rogue Angel rebuilt my fig, but on his version the torso was more visible and everybody could identify it as a woman. Now, this is what we call "Gender studies" today .

Thanks narbilu . Yeah, I hope that Switerland comes to the last sixteen. Hopp Schwiiz! Thank you. Thank you. I just wanted to keep the minifigs as near to the "original" ones, so I also used an armor on Gideons (mostly because I didn't had the torso). Haha, thanks. I'm not a good player myself but I think it's quite amusing to watch . I actually wanted to do Nocty vs. Avalonia and then use LD, ZC and BBs Avalonian figs vs. their Nocty ones, but I didn't have the pieces . Thanks Infernum! The most of the time I invested (which wasn't much at all) was building and placing minifigs. Thank you Tomsche. Which Red Devils? Thanks mate! The hat choices weren't intentional, as I had way too few green headgear and just used everything I could find. Thanks! Thank you kabel. Also, that's why you are the history teacher and I'm not . Thanks Kai. I wanted to give them some sort of a comical look by not having the same height on both posts and an angled bar. Kaliphlin is going to lose either way, if you are on the field or not . Thanks Hammerhand . Thanks Gideon. How do you like your new hair style? I think it covers your ears nicely .

Book II - Avalonia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Simon_S replied to Rogue Angel's topic in Guilds of Historica
Welcome to Avalonia, this is one very nice sigfig. It's cool that there aren't very rare parts, so we can easily recreate it :-D. -
Simon of Avalonia, vote for Kaliphlin

Built for the HSS Belynia: Entertainment and because of the World Cup . Welcome to this years World Cup in Historica! We're here in the largest stadium in Avalonia, the one of the "Belynia Kickers". Today Avalonia plays against Kaliphlin, let's take a look at the placement of the players: In the Goal of the Kaliphlinites is Gideon, with a brand new hair cut! On the right side is M. of Kaliphlin and on the left side is Da Maximus who rather kicks the Avalonians than the soccer ball. He also styled his hair for this match. Mikey B is the keeper for the Avalonians. And there are also the superstars deGothia and Simon of Nalderic. This will be a great match, so let's start playing... Thanks for looking and have a nice day!

As Josh said, you don't have to. I also didn't complete any until now but I'm working on task 4 (Historican Settlements). After all, these tasks offer great builing inspiration, especially for the new people here . -

Ch II: Team Simon: Cat B: The Cunning of the Drow
Simon_S replied to Simon_S's topic in Guilds of Historica
Thank you Garmadon! Thanks mate. The blocks are somehow just standard for medieval construction sites . Thanks! How should I get this in the Cat A? I of course could have switched it to a ruined tower which the Drow are using as a hideout and Simons men who are spying them, but I was under time pressure (I also have my final exams on monday), so I just thought I enter it to B. Thank you! Thanks robuko . I like to do some crazy minifig posings in such scenes, here's my other one I built some while ago for SKs contest: I knew that you got it, but I wanted to post it for the others who maybe have seen the movie but didn't remember that scene. Althought, how can you forget this one? It's just epic. Thanks man . Thanks mate . -

Ch II: Team DeGothia: Cat B: The Solitary Medic
Simon_S replied to Legopard's topic in Guilds of Historica
Nice build! The swan looks very good. I also like the colour (medium dark flesh?) that you choose for the tower, it looks way better than just a normal grey one.
