  1. Thanks all! Thanks Ayrlego! I think I saw that technique somewhere else, but at any rate I immediately thought of it when I wanted some ornate stair design! The best part is that it doesn't use all that many rare pieces (at least for me! ) Thank you! Thanks Puvel, glad you like it! Thanks! I was definitely trying to capture the adventurous-piratey feel here, glad it worked! Thank you! I was almost tempted to try to rig it out but decided against it!
  2. Thank you! I always try to make my tables as interesting and realistic as possible (so they generally take me a lot longer than they should ), and the anchor idea just struck me as I was looking through my pirate armament for the gold and treasure for the chest! Yes, gold is a necessity in an Eslandolan build! Ha, ha, thanks Maxim! You all might show up here too before long! Ha, ha! Thanks, Kai! I actually just stole the stairs out of my castle build and they worked out quite nicely here (much better than I expected!) Thanks! Thanks Capt Wolf! The color-scheme was just about my favorite thing about this build (although it ended up a tad heavy on the brown) - I simply love dark brown, and the light blue, brown, greens, and gold worked out very well. I'll have to try it again myself sometime! I'm looking forward to seeing your take on it! Ha, ha, thanks Bregir! I suppose you'll just have to wait and see! Ha, ha, thanks Captain B! Whatever did you expect? Just wait until you see the entire thing! - I expect it to be a little smaller than the royal palace and just maybe a tiny bit less grandiose - you'll have a long wait if you expect me to build it soon though!
  3. I really enjoy how you always explain the process behind your builds, Capt Wolf, and this one does not disappoint! Excellent job showing the dye extraction, and of course I'm glad that there is now more dark blue in the world! The cart and the lowering pits are a couple of my favorite details here Keep it up! (though you should have joined the ETWC, )
  4. Very nice ship, LegoStone, the rigging and sails are excellent, and the shape is great as well! The working capstan and the ship's boat are great details, and I too like the brick built hull section on the stern of the ship. A small nitpick would be that, as the square-sails are furled and you have the stays set, it would be nice to see that reflected in the directions of the flags (and I always think they look better flying not-quite straight forwards of backwards ). The one thing that could really be improved, though, is your presentation - a sheet of paper (obviously a very large one for something this size! ) or a poster-board simply looks way better, and I would take the overview picture from a bit of a lower angle to get a more ship-in-water, rather than bird's-eye view. Photographing large ships is admittedly not at all easy, though! Excellent job overall, and I'm certainly looking forward to seeing that other ship of yours finished!
  5. Very nice story ( ) and micro-ship, Captain B, but the part of the larger ship we can see there is really superb! Still love your lantern design! Any chance that we'll get to see more of that ship soon?
  6. Very nice build, SilentWolf, definitely my favorite of your physical builds! Great job with the ground floor and attic, and the cellar - although I would prefer it tiled like the other two - is not at all bad either! My single favorite detail, though, is the black squares with the windows in them on the side and back - I'm not exactly sure why, but those are really superb!

  8. A build in the Old World from me - in the ETWC's headquarters, to be precise More to come on that subject soon!
  9. While in the New World all was hurry and commotion, it was in the Old, that plans were now being decided which would guide the fate of nations - and that of a great deal of treasure, which, naturally, was more important. In the East Trade-Wind Company's headquarters in Terreli "Excellent, de Chauncourtois, excellent. If we cannot with that outmaneuver and outwit any pirates daring or foolish enough, it will be a wonder indeed." "I'll say, Sire," replied Wilkinson with a mischievous smile, "if anything goes wrong it shall undoubtedly be only the fault of that cousin of yours in Granoleon." King Fernando looked around for a nightcap to throw - he still hadn't gotten over that whole thing - but finding nothing, he only responded with a half-amused grimace, and looked back at the map. Guy K. Wyndzon had been rather quiet up until this point (the idea of treasure had clearly suggested its opposite of debt, which naturally brought his uncle to mind, which obviously made him half wonder who was hanging from a palm tree now and made him hope that worthy wasn't planning on dropping in until this talk was over, at least). "We ought to loop over here though on the way back though," he interjected, pointing at the map, "as the MCTC has a thriving business going on there as well." de Chauncourtois and the King leaned over the map. "True, true," remarked the latter, with a laugh, "but I hope you see to it that we don't pick up your uncle there as well, or every man of the crew will be hanging by their toes from the yard-arms by the time they drop anchor in Terreli!" Guy looked up at the swinging chandelier with a little silent whistle. "I'm afraid that if you want to be certain of that the only way is to make sure he's busy hanging somebody else in some other place," he rejoined. "Well, then, he may be busy hanging you for your pains!" returned Fernando with another laugh. "But as to the route, that will do very well. And in anything to do with treasure, you know," he winked, "Eslandolans may be sure to get it all right!" The Room: And a closeup with E. T. Wilkinson de Chauncourtois: More to come soon! I've went with kabel's cutaway style for his build in Terreli as this is situated in the same place, and am quite happy with how it turned out. Thanks for viewing, C&C are welcome!
  10. Arrrg, I'll never hear the last of that! Thanks Phred Good catch, not sure how I missed that! That would be correct (I believe, unless Ska had some other idea that wasn't completely clear) - you would be able to pick one island whenever the descriptions are released, and then the rest will go on as indicated
  11. And for the Results of Challenge III: The winning factions in each category, followed by the individual winning entries are, Cat A 1st place – Oleon 2nd place – Corrington 3rd place – Sea Rats 4th place – Eslandola Winning entries: 1st place – Ayrlego, who may now style himself the "Discoverer of the Fountain of Youth" 2nd place – Puvel 3rd place – Dr_Spock and Dzoni90 Cat B 1st place – Eslandola 2nd place – Oleon 3rd place – Corrington 4th place – Sea Rats Winning entries: 1st place – Capt Wolf who may now be addressed as the "Revealer of Tholeau's Secret" 2nd place – Robinnilsson403 3rd place – Faladrin Challenge III overall winners: 1st place – Oleon 2nd place – Tie between Eslandola and Corrington (Eslandola coming out on top with a 14.75 average as opposed to Corrington’s 14.4) 4th place – Sea Rats See the DB Awards for this Challenge and the places for which they were awarded in the spoiler: Map of the Newly Discovered Islands: After the descriptions of the islands are released (shortly, hopefully), Ayrlego will first be able to choose an island as the winning entrant of category A. Then Oleon will get to choose three newly discovered islands from the map, and subsequently all the others get to choose two in the order in which they placed. Congrats to all the winners, and thanks for your participation!
  12. Very nice ship and excellent story-telling, Franco Clarke, your tales are always a pleasure to read (probably because I'm not a Corry ) On the build itself, I quite like the tan masts, and the rigging looks pretty good (although as you said, a bit taunter would definitely help! Did you try tightening them afterwards? I think the shrouds on the rear mast look like the might be able to be fixed by wrapping them around the flagpole a few more times ) I'm not entirely sure about all the studs on the side, though, have you tried tiling those off? Anyhow you are improving, keep it up!
  13. I'll agree with Titus here, the SNOTted bank and tilted greenery are superb, they really give this an excellent atmosphere Great job!
  14. Very nice build, SK, the colors and style make this instantly recognizable as a Nordheim fortress from you! Excellent woodwork and minifig activity, and it's great to see a couple of sigfigs showing up too! Keep it up!
  15. Welcome to GoH, Lord Vorn, and very nice vig to go with your introduction! The protruding studs both on the floor and the stone are excellent, and torches and dark red really set the mood - along with that guy's expression! It's also good to see someone actually supporting the Spire (even if I may not be)!
  16. Judge: Hear, hear! I, the civil magistrate appointed to pronounce the sentence as required by - in short, the judge, do condemn Don Gonzalo, found guilty of willful and inexcusable murder, to the elongation of the esophagus until - in short, until dead, in accordance with the laws of the nation of Eslandola in such cases. The prisoner may be removed. (Pounding with gavel) Order, order in the - well, nevermind. This court is adjourned anyways.
  17. Great sloop, Blackdeath, excellent job with those sails and the rigging, and the curve at the front is very nice as well! For future ships, as you said, the stern could use a little bit of a slope and curvature, I would probably angle the bowsprit up a tad (they just look odd straight to me - not sure about all the technicalities there though! ), and since you are doing a tan deck (and tiling is probably not at all feasible!) I think a SNOT deck would look great. Oh, and worst (you're not going to thank me for it if you try it! - at least not until you're done ), rat-lining the shrouds would add just a bit more to this ship. Excellent job overall, though, and keep it up! I tend to agree with that!
  18. Very nice build, SK, and great way to finish off those Algus! I agree with you as to some parts being improvable while others are really great - the large tower/house and its interior, as well as the wooden tower top on the left being my favorite parts
  19. I couldn't say for sure (it depends a great deal upon the judge/s' schedule/s), but the results should probably be out around the 25th or the end of the month, at the latest, I would think
  20. Some sort of delay for the next MRCA is being discussed by the leadership, so hopefully we'll get back to you all with the final decision pretty soon
  21. Lovely lantern, Captain B! Very nice outpost and rocks as well, and I quite like how the waves turned out there! That flag, though! Looking forward to whatever's coming next!
  22. I think I can see why someone would want to live there! Lovely woodworking and stone-work, Ecc, and you've definitely nailed the Norse architecture! The tall building and the stone stairs out front are my favorite parts, but the water is quite superb as well! I do think that the colors on the tower next to the water are a bit out of place, and the path out front could use some more detailing, but overall, great job once again! And great to see you building in the Guilds (particularly in our one! ) again!
  23. I do definitely feel sorry for you, but I must say that that conversation at the end is absolutely bristling with potential! Definitely looking forward to whatever they can come up with!
  24. Great use of the tan here, the texture on the exterior is superb, and that unicorn is excellent as well! Dug up in Alberto's backyard, you say? I smell a monkey!
  25. Very nice build, SK, the curving wall and tower look great, and stone hut and snowscape - especially in the front - are excellent too! I'm not quite sure about the colors on the inside building, though, and the poles around it seem to make it look like it's trying to hold its breath Overall, great job, though, looking forward to seeing all the models together!
