  1. awesome mod, I like the funny bit at the end great video editing
  2. Monster truck...I know it's a smaller 2h set for younger fans, but really...i'm tired of the simple mog ball joint route it takes... for the 9398 it was practical because it was strong and had little room for error..but for a small manual set, why not make a more realistic or complex system instead of the mog joints and 6l links anyway this year looks awesome and I'ts going to be a hard choice deciding what to get and what not to get, it's all so great!
  3. wow, while reading those pages a special song came to mind... but both models were good, and I'm sure everyone will be happy with using the ldd file, and whatever interesting changes are going to be present on the BOSS...
  4. I'm great at drawing cars, but I really suck at making car bodies with lego, but sooner or later I need to give it another shot is red most practical color? I see almost all car MOCs that are red, im guessing because there are many sizes of red flex axles available...
  5. I believe they are in the 'RACERS' theme EDIT: lol way too late
  6. its only worth $90 or $100, but I'm sure there'll be a better price on amazon or places like that...
  7. I've used two buggy motors and bit smaller scale(8070 wheels) but chassis and drive train was VERY simple, no diffs, just wheel on axle coming out of each buggy motor...drifted too much :D thats why I use this advanced suspension to hope for good handling and not randomly spinning out
  8. thanks, feel free to post any ideas for a body if the chassis turns out good
  9. Hi everyone, have a good update. I abandoned my trial truck as it lost efficiency with many gears, and I have multiple WIP's on my desk, but at the moment i'm focused on my first large scale car, but it will be a fast RC, so no gearboxes or extra weight. This is mostly focused on performance..So far, I have done the rear axle and drivetrain. Special thanks to nicjasno, for making videos and pictures of his brilliant suspension ideas. I reverse engineered his rear multi-link suspension and reinforced it so it will stay together and work at high speed. This high speed will be possible with two buggy motors driving it from the 'slower' output, each powered by one of my rechargeable 10 volt batteries. Next I will figure out the front axle, most likely something from nicjasno again. One concern is the Remote...we really need a new remote, with proportional control (so I don't destroy my differentials) that has good response and maybe even radio control so I don't look like an idiot running after my MOCs! I realize a new remote/receiver would be expensive, but I'd pay for it because I'm annoyed by the poor response from train remote and the VERY low range of Infrared, especially outside. I know this is because Lego is an 'indoor toy' but some of us take playability to the next level, so maybe just release it as a separate power functions module? Here's pics and video BTW video (better camera but I screwed up the focus experimenting with various formats and such also, sorry) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YBpd_pYRSEs
  10. I only buy 1-3 sets (one is usually flagship) each year...the rest comes from my large bricklink orders, my last one being $120+...
  11. yes that's not really nice, many people that are not from Russia voted for BOSS, still could've won without them...as for color, I'd like Orange or Blue... both are nice colors I could use for future mocs
  12. I'm thinking of doing that too, small pieces are always falling off my desk and it's annoying finding every single one so they don't get sucked into the vacuum-cleaner did you just buy the L profiles from regular home improvement store and cut them to size?
  13. any stronger materials for wing skeleton? seems like only thing keeping it from flight...bends then loses lift...this plus longer cable as mentioned above would be great
  14. well people who see BOSS also see enforcer, so it was their choice...but I understand... still hope BOSS wins, maybe I could build a muscle car chassis to fit body
  15. ah, well I understand you but I just don't let things as simple as a few complainers get to me. Just one of the things you have to deal with
  16. He really didnt like that set! I thought about getting it but never did.
  17. will you do a video anytime soon? hopefully outdoors
  18. how? enforcer has 536, so I can say that it is cheating too... votes can come in over time or all at once-I waited and decided to vote on BOSS, not right away. I'm sure there are more than enough possible voters to make that happen, but cheating is not out of the question EDIT: multiple accounts maybe??
  19. This is a forum, and there are always going to be discussions/conversations/opinions/complaints and whatever else everyone seems to be arguing about, otherwise it wouldn't be a forum No need to 'end any conversations' because people disagree. Even though it may seem pointless to some, it may not be to others. I think we should just ignore this whole mess we've been in and continue to respect the forum as it should be- a discussion site where people can express their opinions (appropriately). And face the fact that there will always be someone with a different view, otherwise there would be no point in discussion if everyone had the same thoughts about everything
  20. What do you mean rotating axle? everything is extremely sturdy and braced, and the crawler itself will be light, so there is no extra pressure on the actual moving axles... And BTW I've figured out a simple steering unit, and I am thinking about 4-wheel-steering....Should I change the caster of the rear axle or keep it normal? Here's pics of steering system:
  21. Hey everyone, back with a smart solution to the negative caster on axles with unimog ball joints, and a compact start to a chassis with two xl motors. I scrapped my old trial truck start but it was too complicated, and I need to stick to simplicity, with less gears and weight pics: ^while testing strength, I underestimated torque and it pulled my finger in...still hurts I guess it will help steering and just look better, and maybe suspension will twist/compress better... hope you like it!
  22. I have two, every once in a while theres some on U.S bricklink sellers under $40, but if you don't want to wait or spend $40 you could use a geared up xl motor like mentioned above, but personally I'd get the buggy motor plus cable to connect it to v2 receiver. My first was $26, and later I got one for $40.
