  1. oh I can understand its just I cant find any on bricklink in the U.S. 20-30$ is a fair price in my opinion edit: didnt see that one, but 45$ seems too pricey, meh, guess i'll get one
  2. This will be my topic for a hopefully successful project. After my 4 L motor project failed badly, I'm giving it another shot after seeing the performance of my test crawler, so this will have 2 buggy motors, my 10 volt batteries and stronger design currently stuck with trying to find a way to acquire a second buggy motor(donations welcome ), but I have already finished front axle connection(always start with front axle) with triangulated 4 link, and made a simple start to a chassis. I tested the geometry, and measured wheel space, so I will be buying the 1.9 Rok Lox tires This crawler will have long wheelbase, good ground clearance, wheel speed and power. Will post WIP pictures later today, wish me luck And for those who have not yet seen, heres my test crawler: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xjvZiD9pV_I&feature=plcp so hopefully project Supercrawler will have similar to better performance.
  3. exactly what I thought it looked like, even in the teasers!
  4. very nice, voted is it strong?-meaning are panels reinforced or they come off easily? and apparently there is some moderation going on because one of my comments got rejected
  5. There are some really cool designs! except that same guy that just recolors and mixes everything, and keeps doing it, not fair to other people with original creations...
  6. woah, and I thought my 10 volts was powerful... but im not using custom motors ever, i'd rather just buy myself a hobby rc but this is AWESOME
  7. and the US I want to see your model in action
  8. @smyrf98 sure, but will take a while with school
  9. looks like i'm going to give this whole 6x6 thing a go. I've never done it before, and seems fun with all the challenges to make reliable suspension...
  10. I think I had those from my 9398 or a BL order... is the short teeth one older or larger?
  11. pretty cool! disappointing about the pullback sets and the 'poor design quality' of the small sets, although its just your opinion... Will definitely be getting motocross bike and grand prix racer if some more details or pictures surface..
  12. lol...it failed because it was simply too much(four motors two reciever 4wheel steering just didnt work out), was good try though, and this will hopefully work, i'll try to keep it simple
  13. is something like this possible in lego? I was thinking of making a sandrail or something with this type of rear suspension...medium not too large scale because I want to keep weight down for possible motorization...
  14. is thinking of new ideas

      Making a new chassis

  15. so those last three sets are true? so they are like remakes of 1H? If one is rc, that'd be awesome
  16. My newest MOC, very compact, lightweight, robust and powerful! two L motors(which I have come to love) and servo, weight is balanced with motors in front and battery/drive in rear. I built this today after seeing rm8's black mamba gt, and finished it while watching singapore grand prix this morning.... Pictures(videos at bottom): only a few millimeters of ground clearance with these tires: videos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k0c6d1lJ6QM&feature=plcp larger tires: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ymM1CazVeiw&feature=channel&list=UL
  17. grand prix(42000) is red/white and the excavator/material handler(42006) is yellow, sorry, no blue, but with this interesting line up(race cars/buggies) I wouldnt be surprised to see crazy colors like blue or green
  18. I LOVE song from first video, from nfs most wanted :) very nice car, might build something similar in the future...
  19. I stop at tires, I would never use non lego motors/axles (although better u joints would be nice) i agree it would defeat purpose of lego, but tires are minor thing imo
  20. Its not really about rim slip, its about the crappy rubber compounds of lego tires, which are more like plastic then rubber, hobby rc tires have much better grip and better tread patterns to hook onto edges of obstacles, im getting some soon because im tired of lego tires slipping while climbing a steep slope or in wet conditions...
  21. very good point I guess for trtruck competitions non lego tires should be either outlawed and brought just to show off or required. It wouldnt be a competition if some use them and others dont
  22. Custom tires for example should be allowed for competition I think because we have about reached the limit of lego trial trucks/crawlers, so custom tires just adds to performance that cant be improved with LEGO parts any further. I agree everyone has standards, but im fine as long as people dont go around saying 'thats not a true lego MOC' for one little thing...
  23. I think you could make an exception for things like my custom rechargeable battery, because I use it so I dont have to buy batteries and dont want to buy the lego one for $50...it would be unfair to build a whole model for lets say lego competition and be excluded for a battery, but when people cut pieces to fit somewhere(except flex axles and such) I think thats a lazy shortcut instead of figuring out a genuine solution..
