  1. A great gift idea, it's really awesome to have a Mom that's interested in your hobbies (thankfully I speak from experience here)! The black really sets off your MOCs to advantage, and the brick page numbers are a great touch!
  2. Personally I think that wall technique is fantastic, I happen to be building a floor with it right now but one of these days I'll have to try it out for a wall as well! I agree with Gunman, this is probably my favorite of all your MOCs so far!
  3. Edit: Sorry about that! I'll go ahead and give you a +1 in this thread, so as not to bump the older one.
  4. Quite a collection of great builds here, the castle of course is very impressive and the shapes of the different tents are well executed! My favorite would be the candle maker's however, excellent work!
  5. Looking good so far! I'd suggest using a flex hose spine. The other thing you could do is have a group out fishing and others drying/smoking fish (with maybe a few quickly put up buildings) to feed the garrison for the next few months. Or something like that (maybe overhauling the garrison's boats? - if they have any, or stocking up wood for the winter), to give it a lively feel. I'm plugging away on my Category C... was hoping to have four builds or so for it but now I think I'll be doing good to manage three! Anyone else working on their challenge entries?
  6. Boy, don't you guys have the world upside-down!
  7. I totally second that. Welcome nonetheless!
  8. Just realized that I missed the UoP claims... +1 for those!
  9. Love the mice clouds! +1 for the UoP.
  10. Great touch with the water faucet, that flooring is fantastic as well. Good choice of color for the door!
  11. Great little build, I really like the way you did the border with the smooth rockwork!
  12. Great job with that broken bridge, and those trees as well! Like the little gang of frogs too... probably commenting on Eric's temerity!
  13. Really good job on the slope, and on those balconies as well especially the higher one! Great concept too!
  14. Great little vig kabel, on the base and the trees!
  15. Nice work here, especially with the underwater section and the footprints. Also like the touch of humor with the undersized hole! +1 for both the credits. I do think the minifigure could have been posed better. I'd have put him standing up tugging at the line or, if you're going to make him sit, having him look completely exhausted (which is certainly hard with a minifigure), as though he had been struggling for the last ten minutes and has just about given up. Something more than a backpack (say the addition of a pail, one of the new capes from the hun, and/or some sort of snack for the fisherman) would also enliven the scene a little.
  16. So you're considering continuing what you've got so far with another section? I still think the transition might look out of place but more context probably would improve it. (Frankly I'd still split it up, but that of course is up to you!)
  17. I have to say that the transition from a small brown walkway barely big enough for two people to a finished looking bridge large enough for three horsemen to pass each other seems a bit sudden. I'm also not completely sold on the use of two different (though similar) kinds of water in the same build. What I would probably do is take the large bridge off, save it for another MOC, and end this one with a wall like on the other side. (I also might change the water under the swinging bridge to be like the water under the other one, which I think looks a good deal better.) Your landscaping is good especially on the second section of path, looking at it from right to left. On the first section I think you could do a touch more (I'm seeing a fairly straight line, especially from this top view). Then you'd have either a free build or maybe a Cat. C build if you put your diplomat on it, travelling to Avalonia - providing you're on the men's team, can't remember the dwarf's category right now.
  18. Great job! All the detailing is really good but what caught my eye were the whips at the back, great use there!
  19. Great use for those old fashioned windows! Excellent shaping on the face as well!
  20. Great texturing on the tower, I do like the half stud inset! +1 for grasslands.
  21. Yet another fantastic build from you, that roof is great but the shaping on the windmill blades really takes the cake! Great stonework throughout!
  22. The white ship is great, especially like the shaping on the roof, The shipyard area is well done, as are the other buildings along the wall!
  23. Excellent work, I really like the slight curve of the waterfall and all those trees look great as well! The shaping on that kayak is really good too!
  24. Super cute! Good use of those new mixel joints!
  25. If necessary I'd be happy to take another one!
