  1. I'm really liking this, the roundish base is great and the color mix on that little building is top notch. Also like that fence! I'm gonna have to brinklink me some of those dk brown clip pieces...
  2. Some fantastic rockwork here, and that crumbling tower is just plain eye candy! The smashed drow with nothing but head and arms peeking out gave me a chuckle as well...
  3. Nice little vig, that honey looks really clear and yummy, and I like the snake killing incident! +1 for the UoP credit!
  4. The concept of a double scene is really neat, and I like the very cool, icy feel of the second one especially!
  5. Great job with the green tree here, the shape is really organic and immediately drew my attention!
  6. Thanks everyone! Thanks ME! Yes, now that you mention it, color variation on the path would have added to it a bit. I'm always rather overly concerned about making sure the sides look organic and are clearly distinguishable, and I did run out of those colors but I could probably have spared a few pieces to go more in the middle of the road! Thanks! For me both of these were quite large , anything that's larger than 32x32 is pretty big to me, . One of these days though I'll definitely do something really big, maybe as a collab with Garmadon...
  7. I actually have access to a really nice tripod, just hardly ever use it because for one thing I usually set up on the floor/ground, and it doesn't get that low, and for another thing using a tripod takes that much longer, since I have to build and the take apart the set up every single time. Since I am shooting outdoors perhaps it's not as important? I'll try to keep an eye on the ISO in the future, I really don't know what setting it usually ends up on. I do have the advantage of being able to steady myself on the floor - in general I think I'm pretty steady. If I ever move to an indoor set up though (which I certainly hope to do), a tripod or some sort of stand will definitely be in order!
  8. Wow, things are getting pretty technical in here! Remind me to come back to this section if I ever have enough cash to get myself a really good camera... For now, a $100 second hand one will have to do the trick I guess! I'm interested in hearing from different sources exactly how much you guys think a tripod helps, without me having to fiddle with camera settings (such as f-number). I used one once I think and didn't see any noticeable difference so I usually stick to hand held, which is less time consuming anyways.
  9. Aww man! And I just rushed to get a Category C in... While I have nothing against this particular extension, I do think in general we sometimes have a bit too many. I mean, it's not quite fair to those who have worked hard to get within the time limit (and maybe forgone something else they would have done - yes, I do realize I can build another vig and edit my post!) to grant everyone else a sudden burst of extra time. On the other hand of course it's really nice for those who couldn't have made it otherwise to get the few extra days, but I just don't want things to the point where it's almost counted on, especially since at GoH time frames are usually very reasonable to begin with!
  10. The bridge is what sells this MOC for me, I really like the shape on it! The birch trees are really nice too, they give the build a lively feel!
  11. Wow! I've never thought of myself as an inspiration before!
  12. Category C, for the men's side!
  13. In hot haste, our Kaliphlin diplomat rushes to Avalonia. Change of scene. An elf, Bohemen, strides rapidly up and down the floor: "Again I protest, we want nothing other than peace!" Pauses to turn and pace the other way. "But surely you cannot expect us to sit tamely by while the dwarves undermine our lands - literally - under the false pretense of our alliance with the drow! Even they know the pretense is false, all they want is our gold, our land..." Diplomat: "Yes, yes, I understand, indeed I do. And you can be sure that I will do my best to turn the dwarves from their horrifying intentions - nothing less than to plunge us all into war again." Bohemen: "War! When will they ever be tired of it! I do not see how even you can convince them." Diplomat: "Do not fear, I hold the ear to Axichlav, one of their most respected leaders. But that is not what I came to ask. Would you, on behalf of all the elves, sign a document promising peace and protesting your separation from the drow on your part if the dwarves will promise to cease their invasion? And would the elves honor your signature?" Bohemen: "As to the first, yes, a thousand times. As to the second, I believe they would. But you ask much. How are we to forget all the evil that has already been done?" Bohemen pauses and stops pacing. "Still, you may rest assured that I will do my best!" Diplomat: "Then be prepared, for already I have the document ready - here is a copy if you wish to peruse it - and it remains only to convince the dwarves. And, too, I need your safe conduct for Axichlav. See here, and here is his promise that he comes on a visit of peace only." Bohemen (admiringly): "Ah! I see you are one step ahead of the game. So be it! If you can bring him here tomorrow, the grand hall will be ready for the signing of the treaty. May it be a binding one!" Diplomat: "Amen to that!" The diplomat bows and retires. The next day, a grand group of all classes gather in the hall to witness the signing of the document that will hopefully bring peace back to the guilds! A few more shots of the first build: And of the second: I really would have liked to have two or even three more builds for this, but lack of time and pieces put quite a damper on that. At least I was able to get a Cat. C entry in, which I believe is my first one! Hope you liked it! C&C are always welcome! Edit: Changed pic size on Flickr and needed to correct the BBCode...
  14. That house with a four sided pyramid roof is really neat! A roof technique I will have to try out some day! Also like the way you did the stall coverings.
  15. Great job on the roof! The hammer tiled on the floor is a really good touch as well!
  16. Nice work, I do like the pedestal even if it seems a bit high for a dwarf! The floor mosaic, though simple, works pretty well too!
  17. I think this is one of the first times I've seen (or at least noticed) so many SNOT slopes to build a wall like that, really works pretty well! As I said on Flickr I do like the yellow for the roof, it's nice to see such a bright color used once in a while! Also really like the earth tone colors for the pathway, great work!
  18. The hidden tunnel entrance is great, very organic shaping throughout! I do like those trees as well, and the idea of birds acting spy is great!
  19. Nice work, I do like how light and lively it is, and so many balconies is great! for including an interior!
  20. Those are some amazing trees!
  21. I'm afraid I've never watched Batman ...but I think I see what you're talking about.
  22. For a first build, this is really good! I like the minimalist style, and the SNOT work is really good. Great concept too!
  23. Technically you would need two more. I know this sounds really exciting, but you're just going to have to wait - there are several other graders who are fairly active but I haven't seen them around for a while. 'Tis the season, but I'm sure they'll pop in eventually and likely check this thread. If it gets to be a month or so post us a reminder in the Kali guild thread!
  24. Great concept, I really like the large logs too! I'm not quite sure what the golden posts are though... do they mark the border?
