  1. It's been on my list of things to do, one day I will The trickiest part is the yellow and black stripes down the sides which I want to try and do with bricks instead of stickers. I was never a fan of the GB2 logo on the side of Ecto-1A nor the suits in the movie, to me it made no sense, in the GB universe they don't know they're in a sequel, so why would their logo be any different? that really bugged me so I'll likely leave that part out.
  2. I haven't actually tried the official one yet, I know my old one (which is slightly taller) would just fit in width wise, height wise however the tallest greebling detail had to be removed, the official sets full height and greebling is a bit shorter so it might be ok, I'm pretty sure the official one is not as wide as mine too.
  3. I would probably contact customer service for both those issues, I reckon they'll send replacements
  4. haha I used Eomer for Peck too :)
  5. I haven't got one of the official set (I've dismantled my haunted house) but here's one of the original LEGO ideas model Ecto-1 outside the haunted house by Brent Waller, on Flickr
  6. I believe it's AUD $69.99 in Australia
  7. Great review as usual WhiteFang, glad to be of help.
  8. I can't confirm this but one retailer I spoke to said not til September
  9. Thanks!, we're both a bit busy over the next month so it might be a little while before we get to anything new, we also have the problem of being in Australia which consistently gets sets later than everywhere else.
  10. Awesome, I've wanted to do vehicles driving in my display without tracks and couldn't never figure anything out without custom building roads with channels in it, this is exactly what I've wanted.
  11. This has got to be my most anticipated set for as long as I can remember, can't wait. Any idea when this will be on stores in Australia?
  12. Thanks, yeah 1980s Something is the name of the channel. It's actually that , it's the 2nd movie that has the white one with the statue of liberty on it
  13. Thanks for the kind words Faefrost. Myself and my friend Cade have done a video review of the Ghostbusters set, if people like what we've done we'll likely do more video reviews for other sets so let us know if you liked the presentation. We've already learnt a lot and have improvements for next time but anyway,
  14. I'm working on some stuff but it's hard trying to squeeze it all, I've got my local LUG (BrisBricks) expo in June so I'm preparing for that as well as some other stuff coming up. I did attempt one of the terror dogs but I've had to abandon it for now, I don't have enough parts, it's way too big for minifig scale (what I was aiming for) and the legs aren't supporting the weight atm. Here's what it did look like (reddish brown bricks were photoshopped to dark brown to see how it might have looked) I may come back to it when I have more time, maybe do it as a statue style display thing rather than minifig scale
  15. I would assume it's June as with the rest of the world (though I would guess Australia will be behind as usual though) Also if anyone is interested, I started a facebook page for all things LEGO Ghostbusters, https://www.facebook.com/LegoGhostbusters I'll be posting more LEGO Ghostbusters MOCs, mine as well as others and encourage people to share their own as well.
  16. Thanks, it's pretty hidden away in the bowels of CUUSOO :)
  17. The new wheel treatment is a definite improvement, thumbs up from me
  18. The 1 year limit is definitely for the best in my opinion, it's essentially doing what LEGO would be doing during each review. They would sit down and see how long it took for a project to reach 10000 votes. That in itself is a good indicator to them as to whether the set is popular enough to warrant bringing to market. If it slowly trickles over the line over the course of year or more, from their perspective it's not going to be a product that is going to jump off the shelves and reach the kind of sales figures they need to warrant bringing the project to the consumer. This will remove projects like that from the review periods which will help speed up the process, by eliminating a project that they would have done during the review anyway before it even gets to them. And as stated, a year is plenty time, if it can't reach 10000 votes by that time either the idea or design isn't good enough or there just isn't the interest in what is being presented, as much as the person submitted the project will think it's a great idea, not everyone in the world will.
  19. I know my Ghostbusters set took a little over 3 months, Looking now it looks like my Tumbler took about 15 months. I think the 1 year is for the better, it will weed out languishing projects (including the majority of my own projects) but that puts the onus on me to promote my projects effectively within that period. You can't just dump a project on there and forget about it, you'll need to constantly promote, update and improve on your pitch over the course of a year. I think the urgency of the 1 year will help people reach 10000 faster as well, much like Kickstarter, having a definite time limit will hopefully stop people from thinking they can come back and support it later only to forget about it. I think the name is for the better, it was always a bit frustrating explaining CUUSOO to people, LEGO Ideas gets the concept of the page across mostly in the name, if you have to preface a business name with an explanation it's usually a bad sign. And as someone stated above, CUUSOO doesn't really work for the target audience.
  20. I think the customized parts will still be covered by the existing house rules and guidelines.
  21. Amazeballs!, I'd love to see a modular version of the laundromat, for some reason I keep thinking it'd make a great bank, with the dollar sign on the billboard and the high ceiling on the ground floor.
  22. Thanks for all the comments and support, I have started on further ghostbuster projects but I don't want to share anything too early until I'm more happy with the results :)
  23. Nice!, I like the way you've got the containment unit in there too, it would be cool to have it on the other side under the stairs, you could then pretend it was the basement when you opened it up and give that part a different wall treatment.
  24. I've added a few minifigs to the project
