Great job, I usually don't like stuff like this that isn't directly copying a vehicle from the movies or comics but I've got to hand it to you, it's an excellent design

I printed out and applied ED-209's awesome Bane decal designs and thought I'd combine it with my CUUSOO submission of the Camo Batmobile Tumbler and a lot of photoshopping. The Tumbler on CUUSOO by Brent Waller, on Flickr

Here's a quick and nasty photoshopped version of the face design, feedback welcome and encouraged. -

Yeah I'm working on a new face design for him at the moment, I was hoping a new face alone would be enough but after a lot of time trying out expressions I found it's mainly his hairline that is his signature look. Images resized, sorry about that -

Crappy phone photos this time but I've made some changes to A, tried to get rid of the bulbous shape and I also shortened the length of the center "tuft" of hair, I buffed it a bit more too, could probably do with a little more though. -

I certainly can thin it a bit, I know what you mean, it's quite "boofy" at the front there. -
So in a bit of a follow up to my first decal thread I've been working on a hairpiece for pete venkman's signature receding hairline. I've got 2 test ones to show at the moment and I need some feedback, which one is better? A or B? "A" I haven't buffed clean\shiny yet like "B" so take that into account. Also I'm open to further changes if one is close but not quite there yet.

Hi guys, I've been trying to track down this hair piece from arealight which is seemingly discontinued. I'm after it in either black, dark brown or reddish brown (or similar colours) Superman (2) by Dunechaser, on Flickr If anyone has one for sale or knows where I can get one it would be much appreciated. I may be interested in multiples depending on the price, willing to buy or trade. Thanks

Buying LEGO from other countries on-line stores
WetWired replied to Siegfried's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Yeah they rejected my first order, I tried through the "buyforme" thing and they seem have have gone through without any issues. -
looks like I'll be ordering soon to get a PKE meter and walkie talkies for my ghostbusters :)

strange considering lego.com is on the front page of hopshopgo in "top shops" -

I figured this was the best place to ask this, I'm looking at using a US mail redirect service (namely hopshopgo) to take advantage of the hulk minifig exclusive as well as the cheaper US prices, has anyone had any experience using it or similar services before with shop@home and has any tips? -

Big W Underwood QLD has the marvel superheroes sets in stock, at least the smaller sets and factory hero build sets. Prices off the top of my head may be a dollar or 2 off, prices were not as bad as shop@home wolverine chopper and loki cube escape were $38.84 (cents figures I'm not 100% on) captain america cycle $23.?? factory hero builds (or whatever they're called) $18.?? they may have had the larger sets but I didn't pay any attention to be honest as I'm not interested in them. They weren't in the lego isle, they were on a freestanding display down the middle of the main isle heading towards the toys. -
I guess they saw my post mentioning $250 was a reasonable markup for the AU market and decided to "fix" that for us.

I was putting together my set of series 7 minifigures today and a few of the pieces gave me an idea for this little shot Brick Killed a Guy by Brent Waller, on Flickr A brown suit would have been better but I made do with what I had.

I wouldn't expect 1-1 parity with USD prices, I understand there is sales tax (10% GST here) plus other unknown to us costs, but the recent Town Hall for example is actually a very well priced set compared to the difference between previous modulars USD and AUD. The town hall is AUD$250 or US$200 which is actually quite reasonable, compared to previous modulars like the pet store which was AUD$270 or US$150.

Ok this has been a hot issue for us Australians for a while, it was somewhat understandable when our dollar was weaker but our local dollar has remained strong for some time now. So the recent pricing of the marvel superheroes sets was actually offensive. The DC super heroes sets were bad enough (double USD RRP in most cases) that I imported the few I wanted, the marvel sets pricing is even worse and actually more than double in some cases, the below images demonstrates this easier than I can explain it. I would recommend any Australians (and even other concerned citizens of the world) to email Lego at shop@home directly to voice your complaints, I am for one sick of being milked for cash and will take my money overseas via importing. Their contact form is available on their website here

Seriously? That is utterly ridiculous, I'd swear up a storm if I was allowed to on this forum looking at those prices, that is worse than the batman set prices and completely unacceptable, not a chance in hell I'm buying any of those locally at that price. -

very nice The way you've made the eyes oval shaped, do they come out round when you place it on the torso? or is that how you wanted his eye shape to be? -
My First Decal - Ghostbusters
WetWired replied to WetWired's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Ray's hair is currently a standard old school hair piece 3901, not sure if I'll stick with that or not. I've had a go at doing a face design for my ghosbusters, It's a lot harder than I thought to try and get a likeness of an actor across in lego form, I want you guys to see if you can figure out which one it is and more importantly if it captures their likeness and essence immediately and clearly. If you guys think it's not quite there yet I'm more than happy to go back to the drawing board, I only really get one shot once I print it out and apply it it so I want it nail it the first time. -
My First Decal - Ghostbusters
WetWired replied to WetWired's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Well after a dismal failure of a first attempt at applying my custom Ghostbuster decals I've regrouped and tried again (the sealant I used the first time was causing the print to run) Here's the results, dodgy phone photo incoming... I'm quite happy with the results but I'm tempted to go further with custom lego decals, custom faces and even hacking up a hairpiece to try and get bill murray's hairline and remove the sideburns from harold ramis's hair. What do you guys think? -

My local Target (Springwood QLD) had the alien mothership on clearance for $36. They also had the kingdoms medieval farm set for $88 and I think it's called "the mill" pirates of the carribean set for $60. -
So I printed out and attempted to apply my first waterslides tonight, it did not go well. I have a few questions for the more experiences customizers here to see if they can pinpoint my problem. I'm using inkjet waterslides for reference. The problem was after I dipped the waterslide in water and was about to slide it off I noticed spots appearing on the print, I aborted the attempt right there before wasting torsos and time, I want to do it right. Firstly I could not find "acrylic" clear sealant and instead got enamel, the person at the craft store told me it wouldn't make a difference but now I'm not so sure. Now I wasn't sure of the drying time of this enamel coat, it says leave 1 hour between coats (which I did 2 coats) but if you leave it longer than 2 hours wait 4-5 days between coats. I'm thinking it's either the enamel that is the problem, in that I should find acrylic. Or the enamel needs 4-5 days before drying completely and using in water? Anyone got any experience with enamel instead of acrylic?
