  1. June it comes out. I did a very rough estimate tonight, it's around 1800 pieces. It sounds like a lot but some of that is due to parts where I could have used one piece but instead used 2 that were cheaper to achieve the same result, as you said, scaling it down would reduce it considerably, I think some of the legs and arms could be done with single larger cylindrical pieces and even the hands could be replaced with those 1 piece ones, that alone would save about 50 pieces.
  2. I'll have to get back to you on that, I'll have to do a rough count without taking it apart. Yeah I think it would be heavily dependant on the sales of Ecto-1 and I think the stay puft would most likely need to be scaled down too.
  3. I'd be all over a 66 batman batmobile, I just voted for one on cuusoo the other day
  4. You beat me to it :P I've made a thread for it here
  5. The follow up to my Ghostbusters: 30th Anniversary Project, The Stay Puft Marshmallow Man! This has been in progress since I finished the Ecto-1 last year but the Firehouse and lack of pieces prevented me from finishing it until recently. After a long wait for parts to arrive, only to discover I needed more, then wait again, he's finally complete! Larger pics on my Flickr Page Here Vote for it on CUUSOO Here
  6. Any parts like that you can replace with others, as long as there's enough support underneath them to join them.
  7. Yes they have 2 sided prints, you can see the other sides in the large version of this image Official Ecto-1 Rear by Brent Waller, on Flickr
  8. I dunno, it sounds like he's been pretty sick the past few years
  9. Sad day indeed, I knew he was a director and writer as well but I forgot how many great movies he's done, Stripes, Caddyshack, National Lampoon's Vacation and one of my all time favourites, Groundhog Day RIP Harold Ramis
  10. After my success with having both my Tumbler and Ghostbusters reach 10000 votes on CUUSOO I took it as a bit of a challenge, does my favourite, original creation of my own have what it takes to compete with licensed IPs. ALA-N Exploring by Brent Waller, on Flickr More Pics on the Flickr Set HERE This project has been on CUUSOO for a while but it's hidden off the first page of my profile and is languishing, I feel it's some of my best work so I've created a video to help promote it. Here's the link for the video on YouTube CUUSOO Project Link
  11. Sorry I've never seen that error before, I wish I could help No sorry, it was something I quickly knocked up for that expo, if I was to do it properly it would have a proper interior and I'd likely put more effort into it.
  12. Very nice bbqqq, and yeah, I assume you reverse engineered that ecto-1 and decals? it looks pretty accurate
  13. Awesome, Thanks for the tip, I'll add it to the zip file for future downloaders
  14. For anyone interested I've made an LDD file for the Ghostbusters Firehouse
  15. Hi everyone, thanks to everyone who voted for my Ghostbusters set on CUUSOO and made it a reality, although I didn't really consider the Ghostbusters HQ/Firehouse to be a major part of my CUUSOO submission, some people were disappointed to not see it in the final set. For all those people and the many who have emailed me personally I've recreated the HQ in the Lego Digital Designer so that people can create their own... LDD FILE DOWNLOAD LINK A few things to note, this was built for my local LUG group so it's mainly built for exterior visuals. the LDD is slightly modified in that I've split each floor out individually and seperated them in a modular fashion, this is something I did not do with my original version so this has not been tested with real bricks. The doors do open but they're a bit tight, also I can only comment about my own Ecto-1 (which from the photos seems to be about the same size as LEGOs), but it does fit through the door however you will have to remove the tallest white and red piece on the top of the vehicle. Lastly, there is a connection that LDD does not seem to allow (though it did in an earlier version) but this connection does work with real LEGO pieces, below is an visual explanation of the issue. I'm giving this to the community to take and build upon, modify, improve and expand. If you make any improvements or changes please share them here as I'd love to see them! I only ask that you don't charge money for this LDD file, I don't mind if you put together these things to sell or generate instructions to sell, I only ask that you credit me for the original design. (I would also accept donations of LEGO :P) Here's a photo of it built with real bricks at last years BrisBricks Expo so you can see the height, it's higher than the Town Hall and built over 2x 32x32 baseplates. 16. I used really tiny LEDs called SMD LEDs from this place http://www.modeltrainsoftware.com/ They're really tiny and fit inside the transparent bricks, and the wires are so fine they can easily fit between to connected bricks.
  17. That's exactly what I did with the CUUSOO model at the last local BrisBricks Expo... Ecto-1 outside the haunted house by Brent Waller, on Flickr Ghostbusters on the job by Brent Waller, on Flickr
  18. Haha, I was trying to do my best Bill Murray impression from Lost in Translation when he's filming the whiskey ad. I don't know the exact reasons why it's come so fast, maybe they're trying to take advantage of the 30th Anniversary in June. I should do a story or something on CUUSOO tips.
  19. I'm not sure but I think it was only on show for an hour or so. That's actually the piece I used, however the connection to the back wasn't terribly strong so I'd say they probably changed it to improve the strength. I keep meaning to do an LDD file for my firehouse, it has no interior but it'll give people a place to start at least.
  20. There's some more pics of Marcos Bessa showing it off at Legoworld Copenhagen here showing the interior too. Also I can confirm, NO STICKERS
  21. Bigger photo stolen from the cuusoo facebook page New York Toy Fair Reveal by Brent Waller, on Flickr
  22. So glad you guys have seen it now, it's been hard to hold my tongue. I can't wait for better quality pics though as that picture above is better than the pics I've seen myself! Better pics on the cuusoo blog Even one of me :P
  23. Now you've got me wanting to make a tiny little poly bag version :) I forgot to mention I actually built that old ecto with my old childhood lego parts, I generally don't mix them with my new stuff as they're quite well used (I could slap my 10 year old self for using his teeth to pull apart bricks)
