  1. EDIT> I resubmitted this MOC to Ideas and this time it was approved!! https://ideas.lego.com/projects/2236f271-714c-4dea-a538-f3feb1293658 I've made various renditions of Mulder and Scully over the years but I decided to take the next big step, custom printing. Usually I used existing parts or waterslide decals but this time I forked out to get my designs printed on the LEGO parts. Mulder and Scully of course needed somewhere to work, So I recreated Mulder's office as well. LEGO X-Files by Brent Waller, on Flickr Mulder's Office by Brent Waller, on Flickr I Want To Believe by Brent Waller, on Flickr We don't need no stinking badges by Brent Waller, on Flickr The Truth Is Out There by Brent Waller, on Flickr X-Files by Brent Waller, on Flickr Nobody down here but the FBIs most unwanted by Brent Waller, on Flickr Mulder and Scully by Brent Waller, on Flickr Mulder and Scully by Brent Waller, on Flickr The parts I had printed were: Mulder's Torso Scully's Torso Both ID Badges 4x X-"Files" (different case files on each) Mulder's Desk name sign thing Samantha Mulder photo frame The I want to believe and spaceman posters were printed stickers as they went across multiple tiles
  2. yeah hopefully a new movie will spur some new sets, hopefully they're not all focused on the new movie though as it's supposed to be a complete reboot, which would mean no stay puft, no HQ :(
  3. I'd be happy to be proven wrong but I can't see them doing any further continuation without a tie-in to a movie or TV show outside of the LEGO ideas platform. Like the Scooby-Doo rumour, there's a new TV show coming out around the same time so it makes sense.
  4. I love seeing people use my tumbler instructions, even better when you've got such great photos!
  5. I highly doubt it to be honest, toy stores (let alone small-fry Australian cahins) wouldn't be receiving photos of sets that haven't even passed lego ideas review stage yet. He likely just saw the pics of the one on lego ideas and mistook it for a real set.
  6. Hard to estimate, I'd say at least 10k I didn't use LDD first, sometimes I do, just not in this case.
  7. I just used some printable sticker paper and knocked up some in photoshop using pictures I found on the net, one is the nolan batman logo, another is schematics for the tumbler and another for the bat, the last one is a map I found of gotham city. I just cut them out and stuck them on 2x2 tiles
  8. It was on display at the recent BrisBricks LUG expo in Brisbane Australia. I had around 15 already and ordered another 100 thinking it would be enough, I didn't have time to order more before the expo. I borrowed a lot of the the BURPS from fellow LUG members :)
  9. I think there's around 115 bats, I'd like more to be honest but this was all I could find in time from local sellers :) He's well hidden :)
  10. Probably my most ambitious MOC so far, The Batcave from the Christopher Nolan film The Dark Knight Rises. Dark Knight Rises Batcave by Brent Waller, on Flickr This was built for display so some liberties were taken to make it all viewable from one side. Fore example the waterfall should actually be on the front side of the display and the platform that "The Bat" is on should be forward instead of backwards. This was my first attempt at integrating lighting, with several LED Strips located around the scene to highlight certain areas. Dark Knight Rises Batcave Platform by Brent Waller, on Flickr One of my favourite parts of my whole model was this little chair :) Dark Knight Rises Batcave Platform Details by Brent Waller, on Flickr Hidden throughout the cave are all of the villians from the series for kids (and adults) to find when it was on display. Can you see them? 11. Adam from Brickin' It custom printed minifgures was generous enough to send me a copy of their first custom minifigure they're produced (Gozer) The Destructor! To start with I wanted to point out the packaging, I haven't really bought any custom figures before but I thought this little matchbox sized custom packaging was a nice touch. Gozer the Destructor Packaging by Brent Waller, on Flickr Inside was the destructor herself in parts along with 2x blue lighting bolt pieces. Gozer the Destructor by Brent Waller, on Flickr The quality of the printing is excellent, they apparently use the same technique as LEGO and it shows, very high quality printing that looks perfect, just like the real deal. Gozer the Destructor by Brent Waller, on Flickr With her lighting bolt attachments Gozer the Destructor by Brent Waller, on Flickr Gozer the Destructor by Brent Waller, on Flickr Overall I was very impressed with the print and design, apart from some shoddy chinese LEGO knockoffs I've never actually bought 3rd party minifgures before so this was a first for me. And having made this exact character myself with waterslide decals and been unhappy with the results makes their output even more impressive to me. If someone asks if you're a god, you say YES by Brent Waller, on Flickr
  12. Fantastic job, this is easily stand alone as a great modular without the simpsons connection
  13. It's a bit of stretch to call that one minifig scale, it's huge!
  14. Awesome!, that's how I lit up my original lego ideas prototype, I've since retrofitted it into the new one too. SMDs rock but yeah they're a huge pain to work with. I won't be removing them from the official one, ever.
  15. Love it, especially the joker minifig, perhaps this is part of the reason my Tumbler didn't pass review on LEGO Ideas
  16. The body shape was inspired by the Vic Viper style, it ended up much bigger than I originally anticipated though.
  17. I was part of a joint Classic Space display at my recent LUGs expo, Benny's Spaceship wasn't out at the time (well it wasn't but not in Australia) so I built a few neo classic MOCs to add to our collection or original classic space sets. 18. I knocked this up for my local LUGs expo a few weeks back, I wanted to go bigger and have the same on all 3 sides with more building below but could only manage the front before I ran out of parts, anyway here's some pics and if you have 15 mins to spare I did a Ghostbusters Rooftop Scene by Brent Waller, on Flickr Ghostbusters Rooftop Scene by Brent Waller, on Flickr Ghostbusters Rooftop Scene by Brent Waller, on Flickr
  19. As requested in this thread I put together a modification of Ecto-1 to turn it into Ecto-1A from Ghostbusters 2, Here's a few pics and if you're so inclined I've made a Lxf file you can download here for LEGO Digital Designer. 20. I believe the latest update fixed the issue
  21. They weren't grey in the movie, just the lighting and film make them look grey in certain scenes, see here for more info :)
  22. It's actually mentioned in the instructions for the set if I'm not mistaken, it was supposed to teleport through walls and be black with purple lights.
  23. I copied this the other day but decided to change it to all black. My daughter saw it and declared it "Batgirl's Car" so I quickly and dodgily added some fins :)
  24. possibly, has anyone made one for the official set? that would save me some time
  25. Your post spurred me to start work on it, I still have a few things to work on but it's 90% there.
