AFAIK there was no fighting, only a naval arms race? -
I like how you combine several separate builds in one scene.(And they are each brilliant in their own right.) Further, the posing is awesome. Will you enter that wolf in the Mount up Challenge? It's looking good!

It could seem like a diplomatic corps would come in handy in the coming months... I am really looking forward for more - and those builds are just awesome! -
There are so many nice details in this build - I especially like all those little things to make it come alive, like the empty bottle and the tilted barrels. And the story is fleshing out nicely - will be looking forward to following it further.

Word around town is that the Lord Mayor was most interested in the statue of Aslan, especially in the myths connected to its tears. It appears he spent hours with Brother Cecil after the inaguration ceremony talking at length about the Aslanic belief system, its myths, histories and rituals. He left the temple with congratulations to the Brother on the beautiful, well-constructed temple, padding the Brother collegially on the shoulder. Mike - This is awesome - There are so many great details, especially the Aslan statue and that lovely roof. (including the domed tower.) I also think the base and the minifigures, especially Brother Cecil, came out really good. I would love to add this to the HSS challenge for the Trifork, if you will allow me. Thanks! /Bregir

Well done for a limited selection - quite funky looking, and you probably wouldn't have been able to pull this off for anything but an art gallery!

Problems in Southern Graystar (Freebuild)

I really like the landscaping, and it really does look like he fell in the middle of the undergrowth. Well done. -
If I extrapolate the harbourmaster to the whole of this setup... AWESOME! I really think you created something brilliant - You combined the landscape with the cityscape perfectly! No matter if you build each part separately or all together, this is going to be impressive. /Bregir

Makes perfect sense! I appreciate the different kinds of approaches and storylines. :) Been reading up on posts on my phone and might not have gotten all the connections between builds and people right yet :) -

I don't know about the evolving build, but I don't think its a problem. And yes, you can have more than one settlement - that is stated explicitly in the rules. And remember that Task 4 is a long term thing - you can keep adding to your hamlet/village/town/city(s)... :) -

Welcome, Funem and Aymar! 'Tis good to see new members. And with such nice intros! :) Welcome in our ranks - I shall look forward to do trade, battle, and diplomacy at your sides. I am on my phone, so no comments on the builds before I see them on the big screen! ;) (And remember to claim a piece of land, so we know where you are located! ;) ) -
Book II - Kaliphlin: Guild sign-up and Discussion

The permits has been signed and a suitable lot found, and the Trifork city council is quite impressed by the swiftness of the Aslanic order. Lord Mayor Beorthan is following the construction with keen interest and has been most insisting in being invited to the inaguration of the temple, as it is likely to be the first spiritual building to open in the Trifork. -

They seem to be in order now - may have been a temporary brickshelf problem? I might expand a bit on the description in that thread when I have the timetm Thank you - And yes, I agree - I think that will be the focus of my next mocs - I really need to practice that part...- 31 replies

Well, if an Avalonian may chip in, (Calm down - while we Avalonians have godlike strength and intelligence, we also have godlike powers for compassion and forgiveness, so I will not smite you down... ) my own lands of the Trifork would be a fitting place for trading stations and/or chapels/temples and so. Placed on several important trade routes and traffic nodes, the Trifork house people of all religions and origins, and have even more passing through on a monthly basis. So if anyone is interested, you are welcome to build some sort of representation on our lush, green lands. I quite like the idea of having buildings representing faiths, companies, or regions/cities in other builder's settlements. It really ties GoH together nicely, and helps the community feeling. (<= Typical Avalonian hippie feel-good stuff, I know! ) /Bregir -

This is a brilliant little build - I really like how you manage to include those "odd" colour accents, and still making it look perfectly fitting to the setting. Further, the process with the approval and the map sketch from SarahJoy, including the HSS credits for Ruadh is examplary. As mentioned elsewhere, I would be honoured to have a trading post from MAESTRO in the Trifork, if you do get the time.

Thanks for the credit - Regarding colour, when I picture Kaliphlin, I first picture North African, Mediterranean settlements, which in my mind have many white buildings. Thank you, Gabe. It seems landscaping is my Nemesis! Perchance I should make a few MOCs mainly devoted to improving that... As to the credits, you put words to my logic behind claiming "Life in Kaliphlin". However, I accept the judgement of the other Kaliphlinites. (Although I might add that the Trifork is placed near/on the border to Kaliphlin... ) I think an embassy might be too much for a minor city (Pending HSS ) like the Trifork, but a consulate would be perfectly suited, as well as a trading post - it is a trading centre where several trade routes intersect, afterall. I would be honoured to have a MAESTRO post in the Trifork, especially after the great build and examplary process with Ruadh (SarahJoy). Let me know if you ever get the time and need some more info or anything. [stamps document *Building Permit Granted*]- 31 replies

Does anyone else here struggle with MOCs?

In Guilds of Historica, there is a lot of good inspiration, I find. In fact, I have the opposite problem - there are a million things I want/need to build, and so little time! See for instance this task for inspiration. -

Here is one of the things I am working on - For task 5, I tried to put down my ideas for the old keep of the Trifork. Task 5 micro by beorthan, on Flickr It has to connect the old town south of the river with the new town north of the river with the main road running through, and the drawbridge has to be wide enough to allow quite big ships to pass on the busy shipping route the river is. I think I will maintain the idea of angling some of the build differently than the rest, but the main part around the keep will be somewhat different, as I don't want a walled caste as such inside the city*, as there are already city walls, but rather a one-building keep. However, I think it will end up the largest build I ever did. Will take some time, though. C&C welcome. *Pending recognition (and several builds... :P ) by the Royal Cartographers Guild of Albion. -

This looks absolutely brilliant - I really like how you obviously have it all planned out early in the process. (The fields, for instance) - I could really learn something here - plus, your landscaping is great! -
