  1. Perhaps la gendarmerie should be mobilised to... Erhm... Direct them to a more suitable place for industry? ;) Lovely little moc, although I hope they don't use those moldy barrels for wine or foodstuff! (Unless solely for exports to Eslandola - then no worries! ;) )
  2. Nice little factory with a good backstory. A bottle factory is a great idea, and ties in nicely in both story and function to the recent vineyards opened up. I will echo the others that the final polish would be nice to see, and perhaps if he is ever to expand, show some interior with parts of the process of making bottles? Just a thought. All in all, nice build! Keep it up! :)
  3. The perfect way to claim an island, Silentwolf! I knew you were the right one for the task! :D The micro island is great, and I love the story too. Perhaps at some point we should have the queen tour her colonies? First she would need a royal yacht, of course, and all settlements would have to prepare... So many ideas! :) My only suggestion is that the side of the ship is too regular for the period. Even if it is an unarmed exploration vessel, there would like probably be some ropes, lines, details of some sort. Still, since you went out of your way to make this build, I would hardly call that anything but nitpicking! :P The Royal Society most definitely has its eyes on the flowers and beetles of the island, and hopefully an expedition can be mounted separately or in connection with the exploration of the other islands of the Prio Seas led by Major Dirk Allcock.
  4. The school has been licensed. Additionally, I call upon the members to judge in the "Good Samaritan" minichallenge for the grand road of Nellisa. As I entered the minichallenge, I will abstain from voting.
  5. Great narrative, Kaiju - very dramatic! And I really like the bar, especially those chairs. Lastly, who doesn't like something called "Prelude"! More to look forward to!!
  6. Cooke has finally arrived in Quinnsville to discuss the situation with Sir Smaugton. Licensed as a medium artisan.
  7. Due to a computer breaking down with all the rolls, we are currently in the process of some fire fighting regarding the MRCA. Will keep you all posted.
  8. Cooke has finally arrived in Quinnsville, and after apologizing for his extensive delay, he is now discussing the state of the settlement in particular, and Cocovia in general with the mayor. As might have been guessed, Smaugton was not happy with such shabby treatment, but assurances that the delay was due to official duties soon turned Smaugton back to his old cheery self. Cooke is somewhat concerned with the morals of Quinnsville, seeing the number of bars, pubs, and houses of pleasure, and the very public display of various vices, but Sir Smaugton is assuring him that everything is under control. They are touring the settlement, and has currently reached the outskirts, where a baker has set up a considerable house and bakery just by the palisade surrounding the settlement. "Sir Smaugton, I very much respect what you have achieved here, and I mean no disrespect but... I am certain I saw a courtesan conducting... business just around the corner." Cooke exclaimed. "Could not such... services be offered more discreetly?" Laughing merrily, Smaugton replied: "My dear Governor Cooke, I assure you everything here is perfectly under control. We have to let the populace have their entertainment. Otherwise, life in the colonies can grow insufferably dull!" "I suppose so...." Eyeing Smaugton for a moment, Cooke sighed before continuing. "Might I ask you to inform me of the defences of the settlement? Fortifications, troops, militia, gunboats, the sorts." "Of course. As you have undoubtedly noticed, just behind you, we have the city wall, or palisade. As to troops available, there is...." Smaugton explained, going over the defences of Quinnsville. ___________________ Finally got Cooke to Quinnsville as promised a looong time ago. Being commander for all forces on Cocovia, it was about time. It will be licensed as a medium artisan. C&C welcome.
  9. -Ish. I am working after a picture in a book full of sailing ships. Taking all the liberties I want, though! Yeah, just don't think I've got the bricks for it - might need to bricklink... My precioussssssssss Thanks! I think they would be mines, though, to be left. Otherwise, I think she would sink herself! Hehe, I know - and I can usually do that with my ships - think I might even be able to do it with this one - but expressed myself badly. If I apply any sideways pressure anywhere on the mast, it bends and collapses. Which will make it pretty hard to rig the gaff and mainsail...
  10. Great looking island, FC. I never thought I would see a full size island built I bobs at this scale :O Including a micro-rendition of the island too is a great touch, and they nicely represent each other. I am also happy to note no Corlanders were harmed during the writing,of this post! ;) As to your story telling, I would probably have used on of the ldd pics where you mention the narrow and the wide passage, as that was not clear to me from the micro island. Good work and keep it up. Is this one of the islands Oleon has claimed? :)
  11. I am always looking forward to your builds, and this one did not disappoint. The building itself is great with the colour scheme, arches and overall layout. The wooden platform is a great contrast to the rest, and the windows are wonderful. What really shines are all the scenes you have included with the different arts being practiced, and all the scattered details all around. My only question is how it fits into the world of bobs. Just a few lines placing it in the world would be nice :)
  12. Another excellent, albeit alternative vessel from your shipyards, Gedren. While I am not personally a fan of these very alternative colour schemes, they certainly have their merits and lighten up BoBS quite a bit. It is an interesting rig, and while I am not sure how well it would work in practise, it looks quite nice. My favourite thing about your builds is attention to details in both build and description. Well done.
  13. Lovely landscaping, great little tavern (love how it is angled) and good story. Another worthy and lovely build for the Strada Maxima. Great carriage too. I am pleased to be in this joint venture with you.
  14. Great little contest, and wonderful entries all around. Congrats to the winners! Well done, all!
  15. Beautiful Châteaux, KB, and as others have said, placing it on an elevation is a great touch. Both the ornamental gardens out front and the vines in the back are looking great. I would have liked a bit more activity. Even a single gardener, or a wagon would make it come more alive. Phred, your gazebo, carriage, and vines are great, and the lively scene with the winetasting is a great touch. I would suggest working a bit more with photography. It seems like they are a bit grainy, and I think turning down the temperature of the colours could help. "Photos" in windows gives a simple tool to fix these basic things. Genaro, what a wonderful cellar, something to rarely seen in BoBS. The tattered walls are perfect, and the beams and pillars are great. I like the little scene with cheese, bread and PLENTY of wine, and the different interior details. I think adding a background to the holes in the walls, perhaps in brown or dark tan, as the light shining through is a bit off. Further, making the top-layer of dirt for the vines a bit thicker, and working a bit more with ground texturing, would put the final touches on the build. Your pictures also appear to be a bit off. Too high ISO setting, perhaps? Finally, great job all - a really nice Royal Property, well on the right side of the stud count! Fantastic work!
  16. Another great story, FC! As always, the way you support your storytelling with builds is spot on. I like the depiction of gunfire, fallen rigging, and the little white bricks is a great addition to make the shots look more lively. I like the hulls of your little ships, but would also like to see a bit more work put into the rigging. Simple paper sails cut correctly can do wonders for a build. (Well, I think so, at least - take a look at my Athena, for instance.) Never stop telling us these stories. (Although those supposedly Corlander commerce raiders puzzles the admiralty. We are most certainly not considering Oleon an enemy, and would not dispatch ships to attack your interests! We are willing to work with you to find a solution to these misunderstandings. )
  17. New projects from the Corrish Shipyards: A small, unarmed yacht: Felt like trying a new technique. Struggling a bit with the rigging, in fact. I have tried with flextubes, but creating a 1x1 mast that doesn't fall over at any lateral stress appears to be absolutely impossible. Any ideas? Aaand, a little secret weapon
  18. Thanks, Mike, that name should he fixed now ;) As to browsers, I find that the good old internet explorer sometimes can get the job done when all else fails. Further, I think we are all looking forward to seeing fort Arlin after the great teaser you posted a while back! Have a proper reward been discussed? Another update on the cruisers. Captain Dee has announced that he will aim at adding at least one ship to the squadrons. Likewise, the Montoya estate is planning on doing so too. Corrington shall rule the brick seas!
  19. @Ayrlego Even before a refit she was a magnificent vessel, and with a new rig, the Crown will be happy to accept the Royal Oak as flagship for the White squadron. @SilentWolf On behalf of the Crown and the Royal Navy, I thank you. Such efforts in support of the crown will not be forgotten. Rear Admiral Fletcher The New Terran Fleet
  20. A great story and a great build, sir! They say you never get a second chance to make a good first impression, and you certainly took that chance! The tavern in itself looks nice, and those horns for arches is a very nice detail. The landscaping is fabulous, and the story is very well thought through. Will be looking forward for more!
  21. The Crown is honoured to accept your offer. Do you have a preference as to what squadron to build for, and what type of vessel you will contribute with? Rear Admiral Fletcher The New Terran Fleet
  22. Cruisers of New Terra Citizens of Corrington, shipwrights of the Brick Seas. The Royal Navy has decided to outfit three squadrons of cruisers for New Terra to counter the build-up of Olean, Eslandian, and Mardierian Forces. Each squadron will be commanded by a commodore, and consist of a flagship and two consorts. The flagship will be a sixth rate frigate, while the consorts may be heavy sloops, post-ships or sixth rate frigates. 6th rates and post-ships will be bought into service for a net of 75 dbs, while heavy sloops (bobs class 5) will be bought for 50 dbs. For each squadron, the best design will grant the shipwright the right to appoint the commodore, a perfect chance to help the career of a gifted friend or family member! All vessels will be licensed by the crown as necessary and be granted the honour of bearing the prefix “HMS”. Further, her Majesty's favourite ship will be granted the exquisite right to bear her own name and will be awarded with a prize of the builders choice from the current dry-docked captures. Red Squadron: HMS... by Micah of Wolfhaven (Silentwolf), 6th rate HMS… by HMS… by Black Squadron: HMS... by HMS… by HMS… by White Squadron HMS Royal Oak by (Ayrlego), 6th rate HMS… by HMS… by The crown aims at launching the squadrons in succession, until such a time that all nine vessels are operational, protecting the interests of Corrington in New Terra. Sign up now to help shore up the Oaken Wall protecting our freedom of thought and action. All three squadrons will be used for a wide variety of tasks including combat patrols, pirate hunting, escorts and assisting our land forces.
  23. Funds will be transferred immediately.
  24. Those make perfect sense, as they are more akin to property than ships. While they might move around the harbour, they would not make sense in the MRCA. Instead, they make perfect sense as businesses in some settlement. @Kai NRG: I agree entirely. If we see a brick representation of the ship being turned into property that is fine. (Subject to the normal stud requirements, etc.)
  25. Our bankers confirm that 600 dbs has been transferred in accordance with the agreement. Regards Ibn al'Sayeed
