  1. @kurigan: I value any constructive feedback and criticism, sir - and you have a lot of good ideas and extensive experience. However, my masts are made of technic connectors, so I can hardly build anything into the, I may simply try fixing them to the shrouds directly as per historical ships. I am not, so far, expecting to cheat :)
  2. Looks great, LS! A question, though. How have you fixed your futtock shrouds? Or do the shrouds themselves hold on to the tops? On my corvette, the lower masts are fixed, and I can lift it by those, but I am not sure how to achieve similar strength for the topmast shrouds. Tips?
  3. I am not a betting man. And unless they are Eslandian, those less than 50 DBS saved is hardly worth it! (Damned biased auctions!) Also, 103 dbs for each of the 3T2's.
  4. I just looove redistributing wealth from Eslandian individuals to the Eslandian crown! ;)
  5. 200 for the Merry Merfish.
  6. I think everybody will react to the Kraken as they please. Montoya will surely assume it some non-descript species, while Cooke might be inclined to call it an old wives tale. And most certainly, others will wholly believe in its existence. We are all free to interpret it as we will.
  7. The Montoya Estate bids minimum price for all listed vessels. Regards Ibn al'Sayeed
  8. Montoya leaving war behind: Not licensed, so far.
  9. New installment in the Montoya story.
  10. "Mr. Gardener!" Montoya exclaimed, delighted to see his old shipmate. "Doctor! How pleasant to see you well!" the young man replied, his voice carrying over the crack of sails and rigging. "In fact, it is lieutenant now. And, should you wish to oblige me immmensely, you could call me captain, being in command of this here fine vessel!" "Captain Gardener it is, then - And what a prodigiously fine little ship she is!" "Indeed she is, although some may call her a yacht, rather than a ship, not being ship-rigged... But a wonderful sailer, nonetheless." Gardener said with a smile. "Bah, you sailors and your jargon!" he said, shaking his head. "How is the wind for Celestia?" "As sure as your hand during surgery, Doctor! Hop on board just this moment and we will be right off. Been lying to here for long enough now!" Montoya had long since had enough of the fighting on Isla de Medio, or Isla de Victoria, as the Eslandians seemed to call it, and as the field hospital was established and would function without his participation, he had written to Cooke to have transport arranged. And while it had taken some time, Cooke had arranged for the Pioneer, under the command of his former midshipman, now Lieutenant, Gardener, to pick up Montoya on its way to Celestia. As it happened, the Pioneer was despatched to bring supplies and mail to Major Allcocks expedition on Celestia, whereafter it be at Allcocks command to support the expedition in any way he may wish. Montoya was happy to leave. Eslandian and Marderian wounded alike all seemed confident on victory, and the battle would be bloody. He was tired of war, and rumours of both Marderian and Garveyan (on the side of Eslandola) reinforcements suggested an escalation of the conflict. Soon, it would be full blown war. The diplomatic grapevine was buzzing with tension. The Pioneer is a yacht, a swift and manoeuvrable fore-and-aft rigged vessel type recently developed in Altonia. Adept at sailing close to the wind, low draught, and easy to handle even by a small crew makes it perfectly suited for running communications both inshore and on the open seas. Several of the type has been commissioned by the Crown for the National Surveyor, the service in charge of charting the territorial waters of Corrington. Apart from small-arms, it is unarmed, not intended for warfare. On board, in the cabin, young Gardener asked Montoya a curious question. "Who was that fellow?" "Who?!" "Did you not notice the man behind the bushes? A native, it seemed..." Montoya was leaving from a small pier just outside the Fuerte Unido city wall. He wouldn't be sad to see the island disappear below the horizon, once more devoting himself to the natural sciences. ___________________________________________________________________________ A fun build, and one of my favourite landscape builds ever. Rigging the yacht did obscure most of the build, though, which is why you get a "ship-free" picture. The yacht is a class 2 F, under the current nomenclature, and may or may not be licensed. If the greenies want the property licensed, let me know. C&C is, as always, welcome.
  11. Ha-ha! Phred's been playing with girly Lego! :P Nice and colorful little garden. For a moment I thought those two sunflowers where googly eyes... :P
  12. Nice little building and good story, mr. Stark! If i were you, I would crop the pics before posting, to have less of the background showing. I would also suggest trying some more detailing on the facade, but then again, many houses would probably be pretty plain, especially in the colonies. :) Well done!
  13. Oh, I do enjoy driving up prices for the greenies!
  14. Will this long list of captures lead to any ships for sale? :)
  15. First solution is bot to be part of a warmongering faction like Eslandola! ;) Second is to set a predator to patrol that zone, as KB said. However. This may or may not still be relevant/changed when the new MRCA is rolled out. And that is soon(tm)! (Disclaimer: The shown product may or may not include options or features not available at the date of release. :P )
  16. Fantastic looking landing scene, as always! The vegation is wonderful, as is the beach, but what really caught my eye was the boat and its crew. Great work! The boat has some nice shaping, and the crew looks so very alive! Also, Montoya is itching for new scientific adventures, and has already written for a vessel to convey him to Celestia! (*Moc'ing in progress!*)
  17. Or build the moc large enough that you can license part of it as commerce and the rest as a fort, given you will pay for it and its upkeep, and that it does not exceed the limit of the settlement.
  18. As stated before, we are working on the new classes, so please hold your horses for a bit :)
  19. An announcement in the paper reads: To entreprenant individuals of all nations! The Montoya Estate offers anyone who savages the Revenant, rightful property of the Estate, and returns it in repairable order, a bounty of no less than 100 dbs! Regards Ibn al'Sayeed, Manager of the Montoya Estate
  20. Nice rockwork and landscaping, and very nice story! The different angles and setups of the photos really tells the story wonderfully! Well done.
  21. If anything, I think we will be looking for a simplification, such as max 3 properties, regardsless of position, each month. :)
  22. But ok, get your point. Not sure I agree it would be a problem, really, but I understand where you are going. (Of course, if the mocs aren't sufficiently different or doesn't show sufficient effort, then we would have a problem.) And, just to be clear, I am not asking people to rat out on each other - just to make an effort to ensure the sportmansship of BoBS doesn't suffer because the rules are being bent to someone's advantage. Also, we should all be able to get along (Not with the Greenies, obviously, but the rest of us! ) Other than that, I agree with your 2x4 example. And hopefully, leadership would stop that specific issue ;) But I get your point! (I think... )
  23. Well, Kwatchi, storywise, doesn't it make sense not to set up a mine, if your prospecting didn't find anything valuable? Isn't that as good a story-driver as setting up the mine? I am not sure we have seen any mines not being set-up so far, so I am not sure if this is really an issue. This is very true. That is always something we try to consider in leadership in creating rules that does not lend to bending. The first iteration did naturally have some issues, but for all the rules we review or introduce, we try to ensure they are not open for interpretation or bending. If anyone finds a rule open to bending, let us know and we will try to take it into consideration, and clarify or redo the rules. You are of course free to choose who to cooperate with in BoBS, but if someone is bending or breaking the rules, perhaps it would be proper to alert someone from leadership to fix a misunderstanding or address an outright break of rules? Or talk to the person in question in a polite and constructive tone?
  24. @Legostone: The ship limits will be remade with the new ship classes, and I think we will find a solution for the issues you are raising. @Elostirion: Since we don't have limits to how many properties you can own, but do have for ships, I don't think we can draw those parallels. Leadership is discussing a solution to your issue now.
