Very nice ship! I agree with Kabel however that the mast looks a bit short. Looking forward to see the evolution of this!

RESULTS INCLUDED: Book II- Challenge 1- The Battle for Nocturnus.
Gideon replied to ZCerberus's topic in Guilds of Historica
For the Black Spire!! Great news! And big congratulations to the individual winners, those were some extraordinary builds! Time to move on to Avalonia, I like what I see there already. I guess that this any involvement from Nocturnus for story purposes until challenge 5 would be the Black Spire, except for maybe some Nocturnus rebels still loyal to the old leadership? (Edit: By the way, maybe the newsflash in the thread title should be removed so it only reads "Book II - Challenge 1 - The Battle for Nocturnus" now, or maybe add something about that the Black Spire was victorious )? -
Nice build, especially the cellar! I really like the sloping of the landscape, might borrow that idea for a Kaliphlin wineyard sometime One suggestion for improvement is that the floor of the cellar would have looked much better with a layer of tiles.

Very nice vignette! I like the minifig posing and the lighting, which in my eyes looks like pale moonlight?

Thanks! By the sound of the comments, I should probably have claimed UoP credit for 'Underwater' Well, fortunately I've got another idea which should quailify.

Interesting introduction and great sigfig! Judging by the backstory, it sounds like Antaria is in the eastern part of Kaliphlin, close to Nocturnus?

Nice to see a quarry in Historica! So many builds showing stone but very few show where that stone comes from The quarry walls and busy minifigs look very good, but I think some more details on the ground would have improved the overall impression.

Really nice build, I love that color scheme A detail which caught my eye was also the windows on the lower floor, simple but really nice!
-
Very nice! I like how you've made the walls with a half-stud offset and still making an interior as well

Good choice of face and great job with the minifig posing UoP +1 for dense foliage, as it despite being only a few pieces gives a dense impression.

Book II - Kaliphlin: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Gideon replied to SkaForHire's topic in Guilds of Historica
Once again welcome to Kaliphlin Prince Themuell! -
Very nice! I like your attention to details, like the different subterranean layers. I would however had expected that the wall was built on the bedrock, and not with sand and dirt in between? Good job with the photography as well!

Welcome RBC! Looking forward to seeing your sigfig and reading its backstoey (I finally got my Sultan's Gate main gate build started, realized that the back side of it built by Robuko hints at a quite large gatehouse ) -

Can't wait to see that finished! Good luck! -
Thanks! Glad you all liked the same version of the tree I ended up liking better as well It is two rows of 8x8 trans-medium blue plates, held together by the plates forming the underside of the boat (and getting some extra support from the part above the water as well) and the 1x2 trans-light blue tiles. The row of 8x8 plates at the back is attached to the shoreline, and the forward pillars of the dock is providing the support needed for the water to stay up (although I added temporary support when I moved it to my living room to photograph it, as the water tended to flex a bit). I have an idea for another MOC using this water surface technique, but then I will probably add some more support as that surface will be a bit bigger and higher above the seabed

Wonderful build! I especially like the tree and the wagons, although they look a bit large to be pulled by one horse each? UoP +1 for the claimed credits.
-
Nice build! UoP +1 for both claims

Very nice build! As I already said on flickr, it's great to to see those Kaliphlinites getting ready to help rebuilding Avalonia! Are there any shots where they are seen from the front?

Thanks! After the boat, the tree was the part I spent the most time on in this build as the top was very hard to look good. I tried two different amounts of palm leafs at the end, which one do you think looked better? I liked the one with the extra leaves a bit more when building as it filled in the holes but I ended up removing those again at the end of my photography session because it made the upper part of the tree to wide...

Book II - Kaliphlin: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Gideon replied to SkaForHire's topic in Guilds of Historica
My contribution to the trade between Kaliphlin and Mitgardia, providing the people of the north with oil in exchange for timber. -
The Arkbri river flows through a large part of Historica, from the mountains of Mitgardia all the way down to Kaliphlin and is navigable along most of its course. From Barqa and Queenscross, river boats regularly travel all the way up to southern-central Mitgardia. While whale oil is commonly for lighting in Mitgardia, refined Kaliphlin naphtha is highly prized for it's bright light and almost no smoke or smell. The ability to use this light to read long after dark is one of the reasons for the great knowledge of the Kaliphlin scholars. In return for the Kaliphlin naphtha, Mitgardian timber is brought down river to the great cities of the south. As the timber can float by itself, a large number of logs can be attached to each river boat. As this boat is unloading at a small trading post along the river, more fresh timber is pulled out of the woods. By providing this blessing of light to the people of the north, the traders of Kaliphlin are doing a great humanitarian effort at the same time as they are making an excellent profit providing Kaliphlin with high-quality Mitgardian timber. UoP credits claimed: Shipping by sea/water (Trade and Law) Logging (Agriculture and Zoology) Oceanside or river scene (Geography) Snow and ice (Landscape design)

Very nice castle! I especially like the left tower and the cliff it stands on Did I understand it correctly that this is a part of a larger diorama? In that case I can't wait to see the rest!

Once again I think threads not being active for this long should not be bumped with UoP claims (put the claims in the general thread only in that case). UoP +1 for the city scene however

Posting claims on builds this old bumps the thread too much in my opinion, better to only put the claims in the general UoP thread. But as this thread is already bumped, I'll give you +1 on all four- 15 replies
