  1. Another excellent part of the story, illustrated with some top notch work with the bricks! The crocodile and the wait staff are my favorite details here I have to admit that Nocturnus is the unchallenged leader of story-writing in GoH atm!
  2. Yet another great use for those new dragon knights! (Definitely the best castle troops in a while, very fitting for Nocturnus ) Sweet landscaping as well.
  3. So much happening in GoH now and so little time to read and comment, can't believe I've missed this thread so long... This build and story is on a whole different level than most we've seen in Ch2 however, great work! The build is top notch in so many ways and the ambitious story project just keeps getting better and better, I love the political "grayscale" intrigue Nocturnus certainly has a strong core team now, keep up the good work!
  4. Very nice build! The wall and vegetation look very realistic to me. For the atmosphere the picture aims to convey I think it's fine that the picture is too dark to make out all the details, but I would very much have liked to see another picture in better lighting
  5. Very good job with the minifig posing and the choices of angles for the pictures I like the structures a lot but unfortunately have to agree that the ground does not match the other aspects of the build.
  6. Only 25 pictures? I recognize that...usually take a large number of pictures of each build from different angles, lighting conditions, exposures etc ( >1 GB from one session is not uncommon) but in the end many of them tends to turn out very similar... The blessings of digital photography.
  7. Excellent late-winter atmosphere you've achieved here! This reminds me of when I was living in Canada for a while and visited a maple syrup producing farm The trees are also really nice, as well as the design of the cottage (I especially like the corners). UoP +1 for manufacturing [Trade and Law].
  8. Nice bird and great photography! UoP DoH +1 for swamp.
  9. Nice little build! A comment on the editing is that it is good to use a background when taking the picture of approximately the same color as the intended digital background, alternatively do the edges very carefully. Right now the build has a kind of "halo".
  10. Great idea, execution and description! Feels very Nocturnian
  11. Welcome Jorrith! That was an awesome character introduction
  12. Thanks everyone! I think those elves make excellent Avalonian soldiers without too much alteration, and that Forest Maiden shield works well as an Avalonian crest as we've seen in numerous MOCs. That one of the soldiers is keeping the CMF elf face was just lazyness on my part however... Thanks! It's not a lot of editing, mainly just color correction and some cropping, mostly it is that I've found a photography setup that works ok for me Thanks dG! I've simply attached the hanging leaves by sticking the "point" of the vertical leaves in between two limbs of one of the horizontal leaves. They can swing and rotate somewhat but rarely fall of at least. Kaliphlin gold can work both ways, it's not our problem that there are so many in the other guilds willing to be corrupted by it! In this case Avalonia was lucky that one citizen was saved thanks to the Kaliphlin gold, but of course there might be other cases where Avalonian rule can be undermined by it in a less advantageous way... Anyway OOC I agree with you RA, the shadier side of Historica should be incorporated whenever possible because a darker fantasy setting with "gray scale" characters (neither entirely good nor entirely evil) is much more interesting!
  13. Very nice build, especially the water/underwater and the excellent tree. The fp is good, but I agree with dG that it would have been even better if the focus was on the figure, as the obviously microscale ship would have been more plausible as a minifig scale element far away if it would have been the object out of focus. UoP +1 for tree, underwater and fp. I have to agree with Gabe that this does not fulfill my interpretation of the History discipline however.
  14. Nice entry, my favorite part is the underwater view of the moat
  15. Very nice watchtower design, lego builds tend to be too "robust-looking" a lot of the time...but these supports look very realistic for a wooden tower where height is the important factor. The rocky part of the terrain looks excellent, but I think the flat areas look a bit unfinished.
  16. Ok, then more light most probably will reduce the noise as the cellphone certainly increases the ISO-number to compensate for low light in order to not get too long exposure times...
  17. They never asked me
  18. Thanks! The light was very weak and really hard to photograph, but thanks to this build I've gotten some tips on how to reduce the noise in my camera so next time it might turn out better Of course I had to include the young de Gothia, I will try to make him do some kind of cameo in all my Barqa builds as long as he is there. Thanks SK! Staggering the buttresses was an emergency action since I couldn't keep them the same width, but I'm glad you liked it! Thanks! I'm glad you like the lbg slopes, because I had a feeling they turned out a bit too blue when I did the color correction of the pictures... To bad I didn't bring the base to BW, but considering that we managed to make each piece of luggage exactly 23 kg it would have cost me at least $25 to bring it...or even worse meant that I could have brought fewer new bricks back home
  19. Very nice house, and I like those drow figures a lot! UoP DoH +1 for the claims.
  20. Great color choices, the red trees look lovely. I also really like the shape of the tower! (I thought I sensed some similarity with my tower when I first saw this, before I read the text Unlike me however (I only had PF stuff inside mine) you've done a good job with making the interior as well )
  21. Great job getting so much into that limited footprint! I really like the cart (nice job with those things hanging on the sides of the cart), and the tower is also great
  22. Fun idea and a nice build, especially the curved part Regarding the photography I think it looks quite noisy, maybe turn down the ISO number on the camera would help? Might require some additional light or a tripod though.
  23. Finally back in Europe after Brickworld now. I usually don't do loot shots, but I couldn't resist this time US Lego prices are so much cheaper...
  24. Edit: Sorry for double post/bump...missed that I had already commented on this
  25. Very nice build! I especially like the houses and the tower, but there are a lot of excellent details overall. Not sure if that half-arch would hold up in reality, but it looks wonderful UoP DoH +1 for the claims.
