  1. Clever design and a very original idea
  2. White roller curtain (the kind that blocks all light) from Ikea works very well for me. So glad I don't have to start every photo session with ironing a sheet and still don't get all the wrinkles out Since natural light seems to be a problem I think if you do obtain a decent camera, I would not rule out using a flash for light. Just make sure to get one you can point away from the build onto another surface like a white roof (that's what I do) or get a softbox/umbrella. But now we're talking more serious photo setups.
  3. I really like the ruin and vegetation in this build The path does the job, but could have used some more variation to match the level of detail of the other side.
  4. Excellent build overall, and some great details and parts usages My favorite parts are the house, the round tower and of course that outstanding swan!
  5. Nice tree technique! I don't think I've seen that before? As I said in another thread, try to avoid cropping parts of the build in overview shots.
  6. Very nice curved and detailed wall! I like how the texturing makes the wall much more realistic than most curved walls of this scale in lego. The landscaping also fits the scene well.
  7. Nice trees and ruins, in all a very well composed scene!
  8. Nice interior work, I don't think that the gaps around the windows is a problem except maybe in the first picture. What bothers me a little however is that we get to see almost the whole build but not all. Cropped closeups are perfectly fine if you ask me but if you are showing the whole build, make sure to show all of it in the picture.
  9. Really nice house and tree! I like the unusually pointy roof and how you've managed to make the purple fit in. I would suggest not including the red "spell check" underline of the text in the future however
  10. Very nice creature, some clever parts uses there for sure! I have too agree with Emma however that the flat legs are where the build could be most improved.
  11. One of the absolutely best elvish MOCs I've seen! Those flowing shapes that you have achieved are just perfect!
  12. [A man in a broad-brimmed hat, carrying a crossbow and fierce-looking knife in his belt, enters] Master Gabbold: Roger Farstrider! It has been a while since we saw you around here! Let me take those weapons to the armory. Are you having the usual? [Roger hands over the weapons] Roger: Of course! And I also need a room for a few days. Your best available, please. Master Gabbold: It sounds as if your adventures of late have been profitable! Have a seat and we will bring you food and drink in a moment. [Master Gabbold hurries on. Roger looks around for known faces, maybe someone has or knows of a new profitable endeavor which could use one of Kaliphlin's best crossbow sharpshooters...]
  13. I will try to make another build before the deadline, but I will only have a few days with my bricks before then so it might end up as a freebuild...
  14. Congratulations DM! I'm still traveling in North America post-Brickworld. I have the bricks from my lighthouse as well as a ton of PaB parts and a few unboxed sets in my luggage...just hoping it all can get on the plane on Tuesday without being too expensive I might be able to do a small SG build in July when I'm back home for a few days, but it looks like I will be away from my bricks again for most of the time until mid-August.
  15. Excellent work on the second scene, I really like the rocks and the ground in general. Nice organic shapes and good color usage. The presentation of the first build would have been improved by adding another layer of bricks (or just anything) behind the wall to get rid of the light leaking between the pieces.
  16. Very nice scene, especially the cart
  17. Very nice build! I especially like the shoreline and the overgrown cliff, and the boat of course! UoP +1 for the claims.
  18. Great to see you building here again! The castle is excellent with a lot of nice details, and the trees look very good! I like how the castle's overall looks are recognizable, while it's still very much is an original creation.
  19. Nice tower! I like how the small wooden tower is built on the ruins Many nice details and overall color use. I'd like to point out two things with the photography that could be improved: At least one picture should have shown the whole build, and you should correct the white balance as in some pics the background looks almost red (which also affects all the colors). UoP +1 for the windows and wall technique, but I would also have liked to see some more of the water to give you that credit (a pic of the whole build would have done the job).
  20. Very fun build! As Kabel noted however, a medieval football game here would probably rather be between the two crowds and perhaps result in a few casualties Anyway...GO TEAM KALIPHLIN!!
  21. Very nice tower! As others have said, it's however the scaffolding that is the true star of this build
  22. Gideon from Kaliphlin, voting for Nocturnus. Great job Avalonia as well though!
  23. Very good job with the trees and other vegetation, and I really like the house! The minifig posing is also great The only (small) nitpick is that the green roof would have been improved by some color/texture variations (maybe a few small leaves?) if it's intended to be a turf roof.
  24. Instantly recognizable dG houses, with tons of nice details! Great minifig posing as well. A worthy conclusion to an outstanding collab
