  1. There is plenty of snow and even glaciers in the Rakath mountains, tropical forests along parts of the coast, lush river valleys... Kaliphlin is so much more than sand!
  2. I'm in the same situation, our second kid is due in November (or any time before that). I'd love to help, just can't promise to make anything time-consuming on short notice...
  3. Finally maybe some use for all those Gimli helmets Great intro Ecc, looking forward to what's happening next!
  4. Throwing axes...how Mitgardian! Nice tree btw
  5. Excellent finale of the series! So many nice and innovative details
  6. Haven't noticed anything recently, but a lot of old posts seem to have that problem for me. Maybe from pics people deleted back when there was a narrow limit on number of pics on free accounts.... I'll keep an eye out if I notice it in any new posts.
  7. Definitely! But that's up in the mountains, I was referring to the subtropical borderlands between Avalonia and Kaliphlin.
  8. I would assume that Avalonia has quite distinct seasons, especially close to Mitgardia, so that a few months of snow in the north is quite plausible? Snowfall down by the Kaliphlin border would probably however have some people gather with their torches and pitchforks and go after the supposed elemental mage causing it?
  9. This could easily be Scandinavia Mitgardia in early spring when the sun has melted but no new vegetation has yet pushed through the dead plants from last year
  10. Very nice build, I especially like the multiple figs showing fast movement! The photography between some palm leaves was also very clever
  11. Excellent chapel, I love that clever roof design! The rest of the building also looks very nice
  12. Sorry, I thought of a pulpit for the preacher which felt a bit unnecessary in such a small space. That the floor at the front could be one or a couple plates higher makes sense.
  13. Not sure if that is needed, this looks more like a small castle chapel where only a few people (maybe the lord/castellan and the closest family) would celebrate the mass (or whatever ceremony they do in Avalonia ).
  14. Looks like that opportunist Falconi has survived yet another battle? What happened to Soraya, did she get involved in the action and did she survive?
  15. Great intro MOC! I can't wait to see and read more of the backstory to this challenge!
  16. If some people want to standardize their signatures I don't think a generator is needed as it's not going to be updated very often. Besides, I almost never see the signatures anyway as I'm mostly viewing the mobile version so I agree that signatures are a bit obsolete. (Says the guy with like 7 pics in the signature, at least they are tiny...)
  17. I joined because of the awesome MOCs dG and Etzel posted on Swebrick I was sure I wanted to join Avalonia but because i thought that so much I would have built would have been too much ripping off dG and DC's work I decided to go for similar building in a different setting and thanks to a bunch of PoP sets I had the bricks and figs to build in Kaliphlin. So grateful I got to be part of this awesome MMBORPG (or whatever it should be called)!
  18. I thought that the Nocturnians were generally quiet because a lot of them are technically dead?
  19. Very nice town scene! I like how you have created a busy crowd while still letting us see individual minifigs well. Jealous of those trees btw, great that you keep finding use for them (Good inspiration for me as I'm trying to integrate a marketplace in my upcoming Barqan scene as well, and at least two of the characters here will appear there )
  20. Very nice "overview shot", I hope we get to see it all in minifig scale!
  21. Ok, with those arguments and that first picture I would almost second the fp credit claim if you choose to keep it With your photography skills I'm sure that you can create an awesome fp build some other time anyways!
  22. Very nice field and surroundings! Great to see a new approach to Kaliphlin landscaping UoP +1 for crop farming and life in Kaliphlin, but I'm not sure if it qualifies as FP as the build seems to be in the same scale as the foreground?
  23. UoP +1 for the round tower
  24. Depends on the kind of parts you are talking about, I usually use several hundreds of 1x2 plates in my builds to get the level of detail right I would advice against buying too many large bricks (rather go for many small), as nothing larger than Nx4 looks good in a detailed build if you ask me.
  25. I still almost never use more than a handful of minifigs in a build, with a few exeptions. If you are on a tight budget I would advice putting most the money into bricks rather than into an oversized army
