  1. Nice shapes! I agree however that the colors are a bit too mixed, and I think that the completely uniform parts of the roof would have been improved by some color variations when the walls are so varied. UoP +1 for the credits.
  2. Great job writing all of these builds together and filling in the blanks (not least the ones left by us who didn't write enough...)! This successful collaboration shows the power of the creative group gathered here in GoH, I really hope we get to see more like this!
  3. +1 for minifig posing, life in A & country life...but I have to agree I'd like to see some more waves to consider it a demonstration of mastery.
  4. Excellent tree design, so many organic shapes and surprising parts usage you've made there! Well done!
  5. Really nice creature design, I especially like the head. Great use of those white hoods as well, so glad they finally made those!
  6. Can't stop looking at those trees, they are just so realistic! Excellent work with the photography as well, this is probably as good as it gets taking pictures of lego What kind of background are you using?
  7. Yea, so he might not be breaking the rules...I'm just saying that it's not a good idea to spread the word and get a lot of kids or TFOLs (not displaying at public events) to start ordering through their parents. Ultimately it might risk the eligibility for a whole LUG allowing or even worse the whole program it if TLG gets unhappy with it...
  8. I think they ship the farthest first... So Sweden is probably second last after the Danes Does two parents mean you get to order twice as much then? Honestly though, I'm not sure if TLG is very happy with that solution, as it is intended as an AFOL thing and not a way for parents to buy cheap lego for their kids (so don't advertise your solution too much )
  9. Great to have both of you back! Has your bulk already arrived LD?! 18
  10. Nice scene with very good minifig use and interesting colors
  11. Here ar my entries: Category A: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=96658 Category B: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=96428 Category C: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=96441
  12. Too bad I wasn't around when you came by MKJoshA... Thanks rogueang for a great time at the EB table and for helping me get some more elves!
  13. Aiding the Refugees Peter and his aunt Marian have been stopped by a blockade, put in place to hinder the spread of the plague. As Peter is still weak after his sickness, the Avalonian soldiers refuse to let them through afraid that he is ill with the plague. A Kaliphlin merchant helps them to persuade the soldiers so they can continue on their journey. It's a wonder what some Kaliphlin gold can do to make things go smoother in Avalonia. This is my Challenge II, category A entry for Team de Gothia. Previous entries in the same story: A Black Day House of Healing
  14. Wonderful shape of that building! I also like the brick-built tent
  15. Very nice house and great minifig posing UoP +1 for all the claims.
  16. MOC packed in sections between my socks, off to the airport! See you in Chicago!
  17. Thanks! The problem with the photography I was referring to is the chromatic noise my tiny Olympus Four Thirds sensor produce, especially when headed up during longer exposures. Mostly visible on the black border and fortunately not too much on the model or the backdrop.
  18. Many nice details and minifigs! I really like the "hidden mountain pass"-feeling of the build Keep up the good work! UoP +1 for all four claims.
  19. Citizens supporting the Varlyrian mercenaries fighting with the Black Spire have barricaded a city block in Illyria, the capital of Varlyrio. The Garra (guard of Illyria) have been dispatched to deal with the troublemakers, but it seems to turn into a bloody affair. Something seems wrong with the rebel leader as well...
  20. Ok, that explains why there was no sets with the piece on BL! Not a set I would buy however, so I will have to get some of those white hoods from BL... That's great news I also think a white cape together with white chima wings would make an excellent angel!
  21. White hoods! Where are those from?
  22. Thanks for all the encouraging words everyone! They came there by boat, you just don't see it in that closeup shot (it's after all the only pic where they are visible so let's pretend there's a boat docked further down ) Thanks! The sparkling of the water is actually an unfortunate side-effect of the flash I'm using...but maybe it doesn't look that unnatural after all? When looking at it now I think the water go a tad too "striped", some more foam (trans-clear round plates) closer to the rocks and more dark blue visible further out would probably have looked more natural. It actually looks better in real life, here the light bley turned out way too blue in my taste...probably the color of the light from the flash is slightly bluish or maybe simply my color correction in Picasa wasn't spot on. One of the most important sources of inspiration for this build! They are a structural element as I described here, where layers of brick are providing increased resistance to earthquakes. But it also looks great, doesn't it? I suppose I've made it quite clear with my builds since joining Kaliphlin that it is also my view that tan with some dark tan and details of medium dark flesh is a typical Kaliphlin building style Too bad that medium dark flesh is such a rare color and that plates in that color are even more rare... Some of the "plates" in this build are actually tiles robbed from my Bag End set.
  23. Thanks everyone! This was a quite simple idea, but I'm really happy how it turned out when I started to give attention to each part of the build And above all I'm so glad that we've finally gotten gothic lego arches, isn't their mere presence elevating the atmosphere somewhat?
  24. Nice fig combos and color combinations overall! I also like the vegetation, but the road could have used some more detailing if you ask me.
