[DK Nocturnus Crusade] Changing Allegiance Again
Gideon replied to Gideon's topic in Guilds of Historica
Thanks! I have no idea where the parts are from, most likely BL and/or LUGBULK. Thank you! Thanks! I'm not sure that the falcons ever trust anyone, but they can be fiercely loyal to someone as long as their interests are the same (And I've been able to feel out a few of those bear knights so I can represent some of your soldiers if we do something collaborative during the crusade. I assume you have a few of those neo-falcon shields as well.)- 26 replies

Great work! At first I was a bit suspicious due to the release date but it looks too good to be false

Great house and nice minifigs! The hunt for the artifact will indeed be very interesting -

You're welcome! I certainly hope too that this gets you out of your GoH dark age -
Is not class 2 going to be a fairly insignificant size as the fleets are more developed later? I think having to "start over" with a free class 2 will be a significant blow to anyone who has recently lost an expensive class 4 or 5 ship.

Thank you! This was a fairly rushed build to meet the deadline so I took a few shortcuts technique-wise which I hope are not too visible Its not a lot new, the only difference is that I'm playing around with the positioning and direction of a slave flash in addition to the on-camera flash I'm bouncing off the ceiling.

Nice beast and good landscape vignette

Nice atmosphere! What are those golden parts on top...? -

Great closeup scenes! At first I didn't like the ship, but it's so obviously supposed not to look like a properly proportioned ship so it's growing on me now -

Great scene, you've really captured the action well here! I also like the fairly obvious reference in the diary- 22 replies

The best thing with Nexo Knights is definitely the bad guy figures! Not interested at all in the sets, but those figures...!! -
(COR - Ch2A) Fort Coyle in Stormhaven, Serentia

This is a very nice continuation of the unsuccessful Oleander exploration on the island I love how you've blended the wooden construction with the mangrove vegetation! A technique-related question, is it a "banana effect" in the build or a lens distortion I'm seeing at the edge of the build? I've started using long technic beams in my bases to remedy the "banana effect", especially lots of small plates or tiles is creating a lot of contraction and causing the build to bend... -
That's a couple of quite nice ships considering their scale, and a couple of innovative parts uses! I immediately think about them being used in forced perspective Lego travel kit?

That is indeed some very nice photography work! Great job with the fp! I also like that small turret (?) on the corner of the battlement Only nitpick is that your white balance seems to be a bit off in some of the pictures. -
The Empire of Oleon: Sign-up and Discussion
Gideon replied to Sebeus I's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Nooo! And it happened in Bothnia? Gideon hopes that his father or brothers was not involved in any foul play here! -
Excellent build, great color use and some very nice architectural details! Very nice use of those vertical tooth pieces.

Earthwork fortifications - Ch2a
Gideon replied to blackdeathgr's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Nice mix of green and brown, it gives the feeling of dirt dug up from the trench However I think the plants on top of the brown gives a bit of a strange look, as if the dirt thrown on them has just sifted through? Maybe some scattered plates/round plates on top of the leave pieces would have solved that. -
[OL - CH2A] An Innovative Carriage

Nice forced perspective! The background doesn't take a lot of attention away from the foreground but gives a much greater depth to the whole scene -
This is my entry for Challenge II - Defending Yer Claims, category B. This event took place during the initial wave of exploration in New Terra, before Oleon established a permanent presence on the island. Most revered chieftain, there have been trespassers on our sacred island! They came from one of those huge canoes with sails big like the clouds in the sky. We met a band of their warriors in the tall forest and they were clothed in blood! They were also carrying magical blowpipes which were bellowing lightning and smoke at us. Our brave warriors were at first stricken with fear of the magic, but when we saw that they could die like any man and that their blowpipes were not as fast as ours we rallied under the ancestral cries of war and defeated the invaders. Their companions paddled back in their small canoe to their big canoe with sails like clouds. The abomination left through the mists for other waters. May the Ancestors help us to keep our waters and this sacred island safe from more of these filthy invaders! Probably Oleon’s endeavour of pacifying Île de Zeus will not be without bloodshed either... The whole scene Closing in on the enemy Brave warriors Reload! Reload! I see them! They can't hide in those blood-stained clothes! My poisonous arrow hit it's mark. Another is ready! I tried to play a bit with more direct off-camera flash to simulate sunlight, do you like it?

[OL-Ch2A] Fort in Astrapi, Île de Zeus
Gideon replied to Gideon's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Thanks! Thank you! This particular build is not very suitable for exhibition since the other two sides are not as polished, but I hope to exhibit other builds later on. Why don't you do like Rolli did this year and come to the next Swebrick event? All Oleander entries are important, this is a team effort and your entry was very good as well Not to brag (or ok a little of that too): http://www.brothers-brick.com/2016/03/30/a-stockade-with-a-small-fortprint/ Is Oleon in the lead in TBB mentions so far? -

Gideon replied to Kolonialbeamter's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Excellent ship overall, and of course I especially like the stern! The rigging is probably the best I've seen from you yet as well! Maybe the old "GoH's Law" that all builders will improve regardless of initial skill level holds true for BoBS as well? -
