  1. Great mix of natural and minifig-made fortifications! I agree however that the battlements are a bit too low to feel safe Two comments on the photography: The brightness is a bit too low, increasing it an "exposure stop" or two would probably make it a bit more balanced. The other thing is that I'm always nitpicking when builders crop the edges of the "overview shots". If almost the whole build is in the frame I think the composition looks better with the whole build in the frame. Don't hesitate in cropping heavily for closeup shots however!
  2. Except maybe for Skaerbaek Fan Weekend, which is a bit special due to the proximity to the Holy of Holies (Billund) and you regularly get to mingle with senior TLG people and designers on top of it being a great fan event
  3. Nice color scheme and overall feeling, reminds me of Night Elves
  4. Not this year either unfortunately, but I'm thinking about making an attempt at freeing myself up for the 2017 event Brickworld was probably my best AFOL experience ever so I really long to go back there!
  5. Nice small(/medium sized?) warship! Now I will feel much safer sending cargo vessels into those pirate-infested waters
  6. I was thinking today of how to build an eye on a ship, great suggestion you have there And of course the ship as a whole is great as usual!
  7. Very nice build overall, and especially that lighthouse! I also like the different colors and styles of the houses a lot The street could however have used a bit more detailing when compared to the standard of the rest of the build.
  8. Great that Kaliphlin will be well represented in the Joust! I will cheer from the sidelines
  9. Wow! That's one of the best suspended action effects I've seen in LDD Quite hard to replicate in real bricks however
  10. Nice foreground and micro builds! Regarding the FP, I have two suggestions for improvement: One is that the angle between the foreground and the background is too steep which hurts the illusion, try moving the background objects further away or lowering the foreground might help. The other suggestion is to make an horizon with a differently colored sky behind the background objects.
  11. Welcome! Nice start in GoH! I like the rockwork and foliage a lot, and good job with the photography too
  12. I would like to have both a place to discuss MOC photography and general photo stuff related to LEGO (if it's only photography discussions there are other places for it). It would be great if EB would embrace the growing trend of using lego minifigs and builds in really artistic photographs, like for example https://www.flickr.com/photos/avanaut is doing. So a dedicated LEGO photography subforum would be great (It would of course also be the natural place for threads like "which camera should I buy?")
  13. Very nice build overall, and some clever techniques! As previously mentioned by others I too love the cobblestone technique, and those brown hands were clever as well (are those in the backs of headlight bricks? In that case, doesn't that lift the whole build up a tiny amount as the headlight stud protrudes?) Another favorite is how you've managed to make a more realistically looking padlock with that clip.
  14. Nice dragons, I like the use of the small wings as wingtips Suitable landscaping as well.
  15. Great interpretation of islamic architecture! I'm not good enough at this more "polished" side of Kaliphlin architecture, I would love to see more builds like this to get inspired to move away from rugged tan walls UoP +1 for the claims.
  16. Welcome! I like the lighting on the second pic a lot, it looks very realistic as coming from a big window of the office just outside of the frame
  17. Flickr always works and is still the main AFOL photo hosting site as far as I know, but I fully respect that some people for different reasons choose to not use Flickr.
  18. The monument itself is a great MOC, but I like it a lot that you made a whole diorama to put it in context as well A nitpick from my side however would be that the ground pattern is too repetitive, even for a very well-organized pavement maybe there would have been a bit of color variations?
  19. Another set of pictures I can't see due to my work laptop (which is basically the only computer I'm using nowadays) blocking all images from imgur... I'll try to view it on my phone later.
  20. UoP History +0.333 then (And +1 for windows of course)
  21. Great interior, especially the windows! UoP +1 for the window credit, but doesn't History need a bit more? If this is still the requirement then in any case this build would fit very well as one of the builds needed for the credit! (The title hints that there are more MOCs coming within the same story...?)
  22. Due to it's location between two other islands I would assume that (the island yet to be named but which I will call) Pharos will have at least a lighthouse built at each tip to aid the ships passing through the channels? This would be very suitable for the island's name if it's name is to be Pharos
  23. Very nice outdoor scene, this is exactly the kind of grandeur I'm envisioning Oleon's major cities to display The carriage is in itself a lovely build!
